A MESSAGE FROM THE COO: LISTENING, LEARNING, AND MOVING FORWARD TOGETHER
Larry S. Savvides, CCM, CCE, CAM Chief Operating Officer/General Manager
At Hunters Run Country Club, our team members are the foundation of our continued success. The experiences we create for our members each day are only possible because of the dedication, passion, and hard work of our people. For that reason, building a workplace where our team members feel supported, respected, and valued remains one of our highest priorities.
Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting our first annual Wellness Week, an initiative designed to highlight the importance of overall wellbeing. Hospitality is an industry that demands a great deal of energy and commitment, and it is important that we create opportunities for our team to pause, recharge, and focus on their personal wellness.
Throughout the week, team members had the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities aimed at supporting both physical and mental health, from relaxation experiences such as chair massages, to creative stress relief with our coloring wall, and wellness-focused offerings like aromatherapy bracelets and handmade spa scrubs provided by our Luma Spa team. The participation and enthusiasm we saw across departments was inspiring and a reminder of the strong sense of community that exists here at Hunters Run.
WELCOME KEITH HALLOCK
We’re excited to welcome Keith Hallock to the team. Keith grew up in the Tri State area of New York and went on to study Turf Management at SUNY Delhi, later earning his Bachelor’s degree in Business. His career has been shaped by a strong foundation in agronomy, hands on leadership, and a passion for course improvement.
After completing his studies, Keith moved to South Carolina, where he spent seven years at Colleton River Club. During his time there, he advanced from intern to Assistant Superintendent and contributed to major projects, including a bunker renovation and a full re grassing initiative.
In 2021, Keith relocated to Florida to join The Club at Quail Ridge. He progressed from First Assistant to Superintendent, playing a key role in the North Course renovation. After five years of impactful work, he now brings his experience and enthusiasm
ON THE COVER
Thank you to everyone who participated in our 2026 Wellness Week!
While Wellness Week was an opportunity to celebrate our people, it also coincided with another important initiative, our recent Team Member Engagement Survey.
The purpose of this survey was simple: to listen. Honest feedback is essential to continue growing as an organization and strengthening our culture. We appreciate everyone who took the time to share their thoughts and perspectives.
Some of the feedback we received was encouraging and affirmed many of the positive Club initiatives. At the same time, some of the feedback highlighted areas where we must improve. That feedback is valuable, and we take it seriously.
Over the coming weeks, our leadership team will be reviewing the results carefully and working with our managers to identify meaningful actions and improvements. Our goal is not simply to collect feedback, but to act on it and create positive changes where it is needed.
Creating a culture where people feel respected, heard, and proud to work is an ongoing effort. It requires accountability and a shared commitment from leadership at every level of the organization.
We are committed to continuing that work and building an environment where every team member feels they can succeed.
Thank you for everything you do each day to make Hunters Run the special place that it is.
Together, we will continue moving forward.
to Hunters Run as our South Course Superintendent leading the $18.4 million dollar course renovation this year.
Outside of work, Keith enjoys playing golf and spending time fishing. He’s genuinely excited to join the Hunters Run community and looks forward to contributing to the upcoming renovation and the continued success of the club.
CLUB UPDATES
South Golf Course Renovation
The South Golf Course will close the week of March 9 as construction begins on its renovation. With all approvals now secured, the project is moving from planning into execution. Once closed, the course will become an active construction site with heavy equipment and demolition work underway. For safety reasons, team members will not be permitted to access the course unless they are part of the approved project team.
Racquets
Sports Complex Progress
Work is continuing behind the scenes on the future Racquets Sports Complex. Construction drawings have been submitted to the City of Boynton Beach and subcontractor pricing is currently being finalized. If approvals remain on schedule, demolition could begin in mid-April. Due to the size of the project, construction fencing, staging areas, and relocation of temporary buildings will impact parts of the main parking lot during certain phases.
New Energy at the Spa
The launch of Luma Spa and Salon and The Chairman Barber Shop has been a great success. Members have responded very positively to the refreshed brand and enhanced service experience.
Together, these projects represent continued investment in the Hunters Run campus, and we appreciate the teamwork and flexibility of our staff as improvements continue throughout the year.
Clubhouse Improvements
The Group Fitness Studio renovation is now complete and open for use. The project included a newly poured concrete slab, updated lighting, new flooring, improved storage, and refinishing of the ballet bar, creating a refreshed and more organized space for classes.
Upgrades to the pool heater and chiller systems are also nearly finished. The equipment is fully operational, and installation of the final screening fence is expected to complete the project shortly.

Laura: Some days I practice for more than 15 minutes because I’m in the zone, and even on my busiest days, I still make sure to get at least 15 minutes in. Consistency is everything small daily effort adds up to big progress
What language do you speak, and what languages are you currently learning?
Ana: Spanish, advanced English, and basic French. Learni ng Korean.
Maria: Quiché and Spanish and a bit of English, learning E nglish.
Laura: I speak English and I’m currently learning Italian
For anyone who is thinking about joining Rosetta Stone, why should they join?
Ana: Because it’s a great opportunity and a great challenge that can help you surpass yourself; it’s also a goal that will benefit you in your future, both professionally and personally. Besides, the platform teaches you in a simple, practical, and entertaining way
Maria: Because it helps you learn a new language in an easy and clear way.
Laura: It’s always exciting to learn a second language, especially when I travel to Italy often! There’s nothing better than being able to connect with locals, order confidently, and truly experience the culture. It used to feel frustrating not being able to communicate, but now that motivates me even more to keep learning.

INVESTING IN WHAT MATTERS MOST: OUR PEOPLE
Emily Roeckle, PHR Director of People & Culture
At Hunters Run Country Club, we believe that our team members are the heart and soul of our organization. Their dedication, energy, and commitment to excellence are what make our Club truly special. That’s why creating an environment where our team members feel valued, supported, and cared for is not just a priority, it’s part of who we are.
This past week, we had the pleasure of hosting our first annual Wellness Week, an initiative designed to encourage our team members to take a moment to pause, recharge, and focus on their overall wellbeing. Throughout the week, we offered a variety of activities aimed at supporting both physical and mental health.
From our stress-relief coloring wall and fidget spinners, to chair massages focused on relaxation and mental wellness, to the aromatherapy bracelets and handmade salt scrubs provided by our talented Luma Spa team, the engagement and enthusiasm from our team members was incredible. It was inspiring to see so many individuals take part, connect with one another, and embrace the opportunity to focus on self-care.
Wellness Week was about more than just activities, it was a reminder that taking care of ourselves is essential to bringing our best selves to work each day. In the hospitality industry, where our team members work tirelessly to create
exceptional experiences for our members, it is especially important that we provide opportunities for them to recharge and feel supported.
At Hunters Run, we are committed to creating a culture where people come first. Our focus on team member wellness reflects a broader philosophy: when we invest in our people, we strengthen our entire organization. Initiatives like Wellness Week are one of many ways we continue to demonstrate that commitment.
Seeing the smiles, participation, and positive feedback throughout the week reaffirmed something we already know, when we create space for wellbeing, connection, and appreciation, our entire community thrives.
This is only the beginning. As we continue moving forward, we remain dedicated to building a culture where every team member feels valued, supported, and proud to be part of the Hunters Run family.
Because at the end of the day, our greatest asset will always be our people.
