OPPORTUNITIES
PARENTS’ COMMITTEE FOR THE HUN FUND
The Parents' Committee for the Hun Fund is a dedicated group of parents who work together to support the Hun Fund, our School’s annual fund that provides immediate, meaningful resources for students and faculty. Tuition alone doesn’t cover the full cost of a Hun education, and gifts to the Hun Fund help bridge that gap, directly enhancing the day-to-day experience for every student. This group of volunteers is vital to helping share our culture of philanthropy within the Hun parent community.
Volunteering on the committee is a rewarding way to give back to the community. It’s flexible, low commitment, and open to all parents, whether you can help from home, at work, or on campus. We welcome parents from all grades to join us in sustaining the exceptional Hun experience. Together, we can reach our goal of 100% parent participation!

HUN FUND? WHAT IS THE
The Hun Fund is the School’s annual fund of essential, unrestricted donations that supports the operating budget for the current academic year. It plays a critical role in bridging the gap between tuition revenue and the actual cost of a Hun education, a difference of approximately $5,700 per student annually.
With an annual operating budget of approximately $38 million, The Hun School allocates its resources thoughtfully:
• 67.3% to salaries and benefits for our dedicated faculty and staff
• 27.8% to programmatic expenses and maintenance of our campus
• 4.9% to other essential operating costs
Tuition revenue covers approximately 89.6% of our budget. The remaining 10.4% is funded through a combination of the Hun Fund, an endowment draw, and auxiliary programs, meaning Hun Fund contributions directly support nearly every aspect of our School, from faculty salaries to innovative programs like Next Term and RadDays. An additional 1.2% of the budget is supported by other forms of charitable giving, excluding annual giving, such as term scholarship funds and restricted gifts that address short-term operating needs.
WHY THE HUN FUND MATTERS
When you give to the Hun Fund, you are making an immediate and meaningful impact on:
• the recruitment and retention of exceptional educators;
• academic and extracurricular programs — from lab equipment and athletic uniforms to theatre props and classroom technology;
• our ability to innovate and remain agile in responding to emerging needs;
• a portion of our financial aid budget; and
• every student’s daily experience on campus.
Hun Fund dollars can also be designated to one of several key areas:
• Unrestricted (area of greatest need)
• Academic Programming
• Arts
• Athletics
• Cultural Competency Programming
• Financial Aid
• Hun Parents Fund
PHILANTHROPY
MATTERS!
A gift to The Hun School shows your commitment and investment in our mission and in every student. Our family of donors helps us ensure our teachers have the tools and technology they need in the classroom, provides students with experiential learning opportunities, updates and maintains our beautiful campus, and more.

The School’s highest priority as it touches all areas of the School — its operating budget, programs, people, and grounds — and is put to immediate use, ensuring a one-of-a-kind Hun experience.
Provides a permanent source of income for the school and helps sustain and grow all programs and resources.
Transforms and improves the physical campus — buildings, classrooms, fields, and so much more.
Deferred gifts made through your estate plans are a wonderful way to honor your connection to Hun and create a lasting legacy.
Hun Gala and Auction Proceeds benefit the Hun Parents Fund, which supports initiatives such as faculty grants, prom transportation, community events, Family Weekend activities, and more.
Russell Loyalty Circle
Recognizing Hun’s most loyal donors with consecutive years of giving through gifts of any amount to all areas of the School. We begin honoring donors who give two consecutive fiscal years (July 1 - June 30) and continue to celebrate those who reach new milestones each year. We thank loyal Raiders for their steadfast support and dedication.
Red and Black Society
Honoring donors who ensure Hun’s continued excellence through annual leadership gifts of $1,914 or greater to the School. For members of our young alum community who have graduated within the last fifteen years, gifts of $1,000+ to the School will grant membership to this Society. Giving Society
CAN WE COUNT ON YOU?
The Hun School relies on thousands of annual gifts from parents, alums, faculty and staff, grandparents, and friends. Each year, these gifts raise over $1 million and help sustain the one-of-a-kind Hun experience. Every donation, regardless of size, is a vote of confidence in the School and a key indicator of our community’s strength and engagement. The Hun School asks every family to participate in giving to the Annual Fund with a donation that is meaningful to them, as we continue to strive for 100% parent participation.
