Opportunities to Volunteer PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION The Parents’ Association (PA) helps to create connections between Hun families while supporting the School through events, communications, service, and fundraising. All Hun parents are considered members of the PA, which is led by an Executive Board made up of 20-25 parent volunteer leaders. Members of the PA Board lead committees that organize various events and initiatives across campus. All Hun parents are welcome to volunteer with one or multiple committees! ANNUAL GALA AND AUCTION The PA hosts a Gala and Auction each year as a fun community night out for parents, friends, faculty, staff, and trustees. All proceeds benefit the Hun Fund. Volunteer opportunities range from invitation design and logistical support to sponsorship solicitation and silent auction coordination.
COMMUNICATIONS
The PA hosts appreciation events each year to thank faculty and staff, including the Cookie Stop and Faculty and Staff Appreciation Lunch. Volunteer opportunities range from cooking and baking to event planning and decorating.
The Communications Committee works closely with committee chairs, the Advancement office, and the Marketing and Communications office to coordinate all communications for the Parents’ Association throughout the year, including the Parents’ Association eNewsletter, all PA event correspondence and social media, preparing information for the Parents’ eBulletin, and more.
MIDDLE SCHOOL
HUN FUND
FACULTY AND STAFF APPRECIATION EVENTS
Volunteers work directly with Middle School administration on several activities throughout the year, including Orientation, Back to School Night, dances, and other special events. NEW PARENT CONNECTIONS At the beginning of each school year, members of the New Parent Connections Committee reach out to new Hun families to help them navigate and adjust to their first few months at the School.
Members of this committee serve as public advocates of the Hun Fund, the School’s annual fundraising priority. Volunteers assist members of the Advancement Office and the School's Development Committee in a variety of ways, including Raider Giving Day, outreach to fellow parents asking for their support, and serving as ambassadors with other parents about the importance of the Hun Fund and their support of the School. CULTURAL COMPETENCY Volunteers partner with Hun’s Cultural Competency Committee on campus to help coordinate and promote events and programming, including International Week and more.
Why We Volunteer
SPOTLIGHT Spotlight volunteers work directly with faculty, staff, and students to promote and celebrate performances, fundraise, plan events and initiatives, and foster a sense of community through the performing arts. ADMISSIONS INITIATIVES Volunteers help the Admissions Office welcome prospective students to campus during Open House events and Revisit Days, including preparing personalized cookie tins. COMMON GROUND The Chair of the Common Ground committee is the liaison to Princeton Common Ground, a volunteer-led consortium of the parent associations of sixteen local independent schools. Working collaboratively, Common Ground presents several innovative speakers each year intended to inspire, invigorate, and inform. The speakers host lectures, panel discussions, and interactive experiences designed to promote open discussion of relevant topics and foster community among participants. The Chair of this committee helps to advertise the events to the Hun community and is the point person when it is Hun’s turn to host an event. WINTER DECORATING Parent volunteers decorate Russell Hall for the winter holiday season, spreading joy and celebrating diverse traditions.

HUN FUND The Hun Fund touches all areas of the School — its campus, programs, and people. We know our donors value all that the Hun experience provides, but understand that certain parts hold a special place in your heart. While we continue to raise unrestricted support, providing much needed flexibility to address everchanging needs, we now offer the option to designate your Hun Fund gift, allowing you to support the area that means the most to you. ACADEMIC PROGRAMMING The individual mentorship and creative teaching efforts Hun's faculty embrace provide our students with an experience unlike anywhere else. Support of this fund will help us continue to fund the School's innovation both in the classroom and beyond, allowing signature programs such as NextTerm, the Scholars Tracks, and the Learning Center to thrive. ARTS The Arts Department encourages students to develop their passion for music, drama, and visual arts through
a variety of classes and extracurricular activities. Support of the Arts provides experiences for students that complement classroom learning by planning visits to museums, concert halls, and theaters. Support of the Arts also helps the School produce full-scale theatrical, musical, and dance productions each year. ATHLETICS All Hun students have a place in the School's renowned athletics programs, and it is essential that our student-athletes have access to the equipment necessary to perform. Gifts designated to Athletics also help offset team travel costs and provide coaches with additional resources both on and off the fields. DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION AND BELONGING (DEIB) Support of DEIB will allow for increased and strategic programming, community outreach, and relationship-building through opportunities with the Cultural Competency Committee, Gender Equity Matters and other global diversity initiatives.
FINANCIAL AID Support of financial aid will ensure that the School continues to be able to make its life-changing educational opportunities available to students without regard to their financial resources, allowing for a more diverse student body. UNRESTRICTED Direct your funds to be used toward the School’s greatest needs, allowing leadership to be nimble and responsive to ever-changing priorities and circumstances. THE HUN PARENTS FUND The Hun Parents Fund impacts several areas of campus life, supporting Parents' Association initiatives like Faculty Grants, Middle School jackets, Revisit Day welcome gifts, Prom transportation, Parents Weekend and other community events, faculty and staff appreciation events, participation in Princeton Common Ground, and more. We hope that all families participate in the Hun Parents Fund according to their means.
PHILANTHROPIC PRIORITIES Building upon Hun's exceptional education requires extensive resources. Endowed funds and capital gifts provide a reliable source of income and allow the School to continue investing in the excellence of its campus, faculty, and student opportunities. These gifts help provide a stable foundation and strengthen our mission for generations to come. CAPITAL CAMPAIGN Gifts to capital projects help ensure that our students learn and collaborate in inspiring and state-ofthe-art spaces. The newly renovated DAYLO STEM Center and The Breen Performing Arts Center, as well as a reimagined infirmary, are the final projects of the largest capital campaign in Hun School history.

ENDOWED FUNDS Endowed Funds are a permanent source of income for The Hun School, benefiting students for generations to come. Endowed gifts can be restricted to a specific purpose by the donor, or left unrestricted to be used at the discretion of the School. Hun is committed to growing its endowed resources, and seeks to increase funding available for academics and student leadership, athletics, admissions, financial aid, faculty, and teaching support. Gifts to a capital project or the endowment can be paid over a period of time, up to five years. PLANNED GIVING Making philanthropic decisions about your estate and financial plans is a wonderful way to honor your relationship with Hun with a lasting impact on the School, as well as offering many tax and financial benefits for you and your family. LEADERSHIP AND LOYALTY SOCIETIES RUSSELL LOYALTY CIRCLE Recognizing Hun's most loyal donors with consecutive years of giving through gifts of any amount to all areas of the School. We begin honoring donors who give two consecutive fiscal years (July 1- June 30) and continue to celebrate those who reach new milestones each year. We thank loyal Raiders for their steadfast support and dedication. RED AND BLACK SOCIETY Honoring donors who ensure Hun's continued excellence through annual leadership gifts of $1,914 (the year Hun was founded) or greater to the School. For members of our young alumni community who have graduated within the last fifteen years, gifts of $1,000+ to the School will grant membership to this Society.

As an independent school and non-profit organization, The Hun School does not receive government funding. Tuition and fees provide almost 90% of Hun’s operating budget. The School relies on the Hun Fund and the endowment to bridge the gap between tuition revenue and operating expenses in order to continue to enhance the Hun student experience.
How to Give OUTRIGHT GIFTS Outright gifts can be made by cash, check, credit card, GiveCampus’ PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay, wiring funds, and/or the transfer of appreciated securities. Online gifts can be made through the School’s secure website at https://www.hunschool.org/support RECURRING GIFTS Rather than making an outright gift, you may prefer to establish a recurring gift for a specific period of time: for example, a $150/month gift made on the 15th of each month from July – June. This is a great and easy way to double or even triple your gift with a corporate match.
