One in 11 people will go to bed hungry tonight.
Malnutrition is one of the greatest threats to human life. Access to nutritious food not only eliminates hunger it also increases energy and strengthens immune systems. It improves cognitive function so children can focus better in school and adults stay productive. Proper nourishment has long-lasting effects on individuals and communities. It helps people grow stronger and reduces the risk of chronic diseases. It leads to better education and greater economic opportunities so that people can live fuller, healthier lives.

Emergency Relief
Hundreds of millions of people need help right now.
The impact of urgent aid is two-fold. First, it provides immediate relief to those trapped in a desperate state of survival. It delivers basic essentials like food, water, shelter and healthcare so that survivors can make it through another day. The second outcome of emergency relief occurs over time. A reduction of suffering in the aftermath helps communities to rebuild, restore infrastructure, and become more resilient and better prepared for future challenges.

HOW WE’RE IMPACTING
Tents, food and clean water supplies for displaced individuals and families
Child-focused healthcare services including facility enhancement and financial support for healthcare staff
Almost 2B people are facing complete water scarcity.
Clean water access is the most critical element of life. It reduces disease, improves health, and lowers mortality rates in children. It improves hygiene and sanitation, which have significant impacts on people’s ability to function in society. One of the most powerful impacts of clean water access is that women and children can spend less time collecting water. Instead, they can go to school or work, improving economic stability for households and whole communities. Clean water access changes everything.

Livelihood
Nearly one in five people struggles with unemployment.
Millions of people are blocked from cultivating a sustainable way of life. When barriers to education and employment are removed, people’s lives are transformed. They can meet basic needs like food, housing, and healthcare. They can support themselves and their families. Stable income fosters independence and confidence. It empowers people to climb out of poverty and contribute to society. When people are given opportunities to earn an education and consistent work, they’re able to lead more secure, fulfilling lives.

Seeing change every day
To my fellow humanitarians,
There are moments, when we pause and truly reflect, that remind us why this work matters. As I look back on 2025, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude not just for what we achieved together, but for the lives we were able to stand beside in their most difficult moments.
In Canada alone, we impacted the lives of over 38,000 of our neighbours. Behind this number are real stories: families who no longer had to choose between rent and food, parents who found support when they felt alone, and young people who were given the tools to keep believing in their future. Your generosity expanded across Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland & Labrador ensuring hope reached communities from coast to coast.
Canadians have always responded to the call for global humanitarian relief and you stood up for over 232,000 people across Africa, Asia and the Middle East. In communities facing immense hardship, your compassion delivered not only essentials like food, water, and healthcare but something equally vital: hope.
This work is only made possible by our dedicated staff, volunteers, and incredible partners, who show up every day with courage and compassion. Your generosity turns intention into action. You are part of every meal served, every child supported, and every life uplifted.
As we look to 2026, I remain humbled by your trust and inspired by the change we are making –one person, one family, one act of care at a time.
Let’s continue to walk this journey together.
