We’re entering a season that can get really stormy! When a hurricane is coming, your family and pets are a team!

You can help by being a “Pet Safety Hero.” Make sure your pets have food, water, a leash or carrier, and something cozy like a blanket or favorite toy. Ask a grown-up where your family will go if you need to leave home, and make sure pets can go too. Practicing your plan ahead of time helps everyone feel brave, calm, and ready to stay safe together.

Grab your parents and help check items off the list to make sure your pet’s “go bag” is ready before a storm arrives!

Harley the Doberman mix had a big change in her life when she came to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. Even though everything was new, our team made sure she felt safe, cozy, and loved while she waited for her forever family.

One day, Theodore and his little brother visited HSTB for Paws for Literacy. Theodore spotted Harley right away, and the two became fast friends. The very next day, his family came back to adopt her!

Now Harley’s days are filled with beach rides, trail walks, cuddles with her favorite stuffed toys, and squirrel-watching adventures. Best of all, Harley has a loving family to share it all with.
