The hire department is open at each location at the following times:

Booking Equipment
To ensure that the hire equipment you want is available for hire, please try to allow at least 48 hours notice prior to your hire start date and time.
It is important to remember to order not only the main piece of equipment but also any ancillary items which you may need to complete the job, such as special lances, extension hoses or chemicals.
Please don’t hesitate to ask one of our advisors any questions regarding
equipment or the application that you want to use it for. It may very well increase effectiveness and therefore reduce downtime.
The catalogue can also help with reference to specific questions that you may want to ask yourself before booking equipment. These can be found on the title page of each individual section.
To place your order simply ring or e-mail us with your requirements. We will advise immediately the availability and cost of the equipment. On accepting the booking, we will issue you with a hire number. This number will relate to all other documentation from the initial booking, to the final invoice. Please quote this number for any queries during the hire, or when off-hiring the equipment.
When booking equipment every effort will be made to supply the model shown however occasionally alternative manufacturers equipment may be supplied. When this occurs the machine
specification will always reflect the model chosen.
Delivery & Collection
Customers are welcome to collect their hire equipment. This catalogue provides a guide for the type of vehicle required to transport the equipment (please refer to the symbols on the contents page and against each item throughout the catalogue) so please ensure that you have checked this before you travel. Where the customer’s transport is not suitable, or it is not convenient to collect we are able to provide properly equipped vehicles for the safe delivery and collection of the equipment. The benefit is we can install and demonstrate on-site, the proper use and maintenance of the equipment, to ensure that you achieve the best results. A separate charge will be made for this service.
Off-Hiring
On completion of your job, contact our offices to obtain your off-hire number. The hire charge will continue in all cases, until this number is issued, without exception. Once this number is obtained the hirer is still responsible for the care, security and insurance of the equipment until it is either returned to us or collected.
Cleaning Charge
Where machines are returned in a dirty state, a cleaning charge will be applied. Charges will be calculated on timed labour and materials cost at our standard rates.
Fuel Charge
Machines should also be returned full of fuel where applicable otherwise a fuel charge will be made.
General Points
When machines are hired, they will be ready for instant service. Operator instruction and health and safety information is provided with each piece of equipment, which must be read before the client uses the equipment and this instruction must be followed to ensure safe and efficient use of the equipment.
Machines will be clean and where necessary full of fuel. Each machine will have been tested for correct function
and any statutory electrical or pressure tests carried out. Hirers must notify us immediately should any defect occur. Minor problems will be rectified promptly on-site. Where this is not practical a replacement unit will be delivered, and the faulty unit removed. Hugh Crane (Cleaning Equipment) Ltd will not accept any consequential loss, damage or injury, if a fault with the hire equipment is not properly reported.
Insurance
Risk in the hire of our equipment will pass immediately to the customer when it leaves the physical possession or control of Hugh Crane (Cleaning Equipment) Ltd or any of its employees.
Risk in the equipment will not pass back to Hugh Crane (Cleaning Equipment) Ltd from the customer until the machine/s are back in our physical possession. This shall apply even if the machine has been taken off hire. You may re-hire the equipment to a third party with prior written consent from Hugh Crane (Cleaning Equipment) Ltd. We may in some circumstances require you, the customer, to insure the equipment for reasonable risks as we may specify. The proceeds of any such insurance that relate directly to the equipment shall be held by the customer in trust for Hugh Crane (Cleaning Equipment) Ltd and be paid to
ourselves on demand. The customer must not compromise any claim in respect of the equipment and/or any associated insurance without Hugh Crane (Cleaning Equipment) Ltd’s written consent.
Payment Methods
For approved account holders, the hire will be charged on a normal thirty-day account. An official order number will be required. Where the duration of the hire is longer than one month, a monthly bill will be issued. The maximum hire contract is three months. If equipment is required for a longer period, a new contract will be issued and will need to be signed by the customer. For hire customers without an account a minimum deposit of two weeks hire and two forms of identification will be required together with a vehicle registration when collecting.
Payment by non-account customers can be made by cash, debit/credit card or cleared bank transfer.
Deposits will be refunded at the end of the hire, once the equipment has been successfully checked in and tested, subject to any cleaning or fuel charge.

Contract Hire
Hugh Crane can also provide longer term contract hire agreements with customers that want to pay for use, not ownership, within a lease agreement, these are generally 2-5 years in duration.
This would mean:

• Conserves capital within the business
• Hedges against inflation
• Manages within capital budget constraints
• Tax beneficial
