ENHANCING MOBILITY FOR INDIVIDUALS USING WHEELCHAIRS

Ride-On Tri-City is transforming mobility for Tri-City residents using wheelchairs, offering convenient and reliable same-day transportation for local travel needs. Unlike traditional paratransit which requires reservations, the program’s Wheelchair Accessible Van (WAV) service helps individuals attend medical appointments, social events, and errands without barriers or long wait times. The flexibility of ondemand booking allows users to request rides whenever needed, fostering greater independence and spontaneity in their daily lives.

Ride-On Tri-City provided over 5,300 same-day accessible rides in the first year of its innovative WAV service! Funded through June 30, 2027, the pilot complements Ride-On Tri-City’s affordable, sameday transportation options for Tri-City residents who are ambulatory. WAV rides cost $4 and are provided in accessible minivans. Service is available within the Tri-City area between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm daily. To enroll, complete an online application at: city.fremont.gov/rideontricityapply For more info, call 510-574-2053 or visit city.fremont.gov/rideontricity Funded by the Alameda County Transportation Commission and SAFA: www.alamedactc.org | https://cpucsafa.org/

MEANINGFUL MOMENTS HAPPEN AT THE AWC! Senior Center Month highlights how senior centers ignite creativity, connection, and purpose. Every day, older adults step into more than 10,000 centers nationwide and discover friendships, resources, and opportunities that make each year brighter. Since the 1940s, senior centers have evolved to meet changing needs. Today they’re powerful antidotes to loneliness, creating vibrant communities where happier birthdays truly begin. Explore the AWC’s full class schedule and sign up for exercise, technology, art, music, and enrichment programs. Enjoy lunch at the center while you are here. Connect with others and have fun while you learn and dine!
