The City of Fremont’s Human Services Department is proud to announce its third Annual Intergenerational Art Competition, an event that brings together creativity, community, and connection across generations. This year’s theme, “This Is My Place: Power of Belonging,” invites artists to reflect on what it means to feel connected—to a place, a culture, a community, or one another. Through art, participants are encouraged to explore identity, shared experiences, and the ways belonging strengthens individuals and neighborhoods alike.
As we prepare for the awards ceremony, we look forward to celebrating the talented Tri City artists who participated in this year’s competition. Open to youth ages 5 to 21 and adults 55 and older, the event shows original works across fine arts, graphic arts, and

creative writing or spoken word. In addition to the youth and older adult categories, we will also be honoring submissions from the special intergenerational category, which highlights collaborative creations between young artists and adults 55 and over.
Prizes will be awarded in each category, and winners will be announced at a celebratory reception on May 7, 2026, where selected artwork will be showcased. All submissions must be received by April 3, 2026. There is still time to submit! For submission guidelines, eligibility details, and full information about the art show, visit city.fremont.gov/artshow25.
