Red Wolves Open the Season with heart and spirit
By Elizabeth Gaytan, Student of International Business
The first home game of the Arkansas State football team against UACJ University was an exhilarating experience for all fans. The Red Wolves’ entrance to the field was proudly sponsored by Volkswagen Pasteur and supported by FLYZZ ECNOLOGY, the innovative drone company behind one of the night’s most spectacular moments.
At the start of the game, excitement filled the air as the game ball descended from the sky, carried by a cargo drone — a symbol of innovation and athletic passion that perfectly set the tone for this unforgettable encounter.
The match was so closely contested that it went into overtime, reflecting the intensity and determination on the field.
Although Arkansas narrowly lost by just one point, the Red Wolves showed unmatched energy, resilience, and school spirit throughout the entire game. It was the perfect way to kick off the season, reminding us all of the pride and passion that define our team.

Viva México! Elisia comes alive with Mexican Fest
On September 10, in honor of Mexico’s Independence Day, Elisia hosted a festive celebration filled with food, games, and tradition. Students enjoyed classic treats like chicharrones, elotes, and esquites, while ResLife brought excitement with games of chance that sparked plenty of friendly competition.

The “civil registry” stand was a crowd favorite, with playful weddings taking place one after another—love was truly in the air! The night came alive with live banda music, leading into a spirited dance contest that showcased incredible talent, and ending with everyone dancing together to the iconic Payaso de Rodeo.
It was a memorable celebration of culture and community, and we can’t wait to share more upcoming events prepared by the Student Life team!

An
experience worth repeating inside the tennis tournament
By David Cerritos
The tournament organized by the Tennis Club was a very positive experience. Overall, I really enjoyed the dynamics and the level of play shown in the matches. I had the chance to see several players with great potential, and I’m sure that with the right coaching, they could reach an excellent level to compete in university tournaments.
On a personal note, the experience was very motivating. While watching the
matches, I felt a strong desire to participate myself, and I believe I could have performed well in this edition. I’ve already decided that for the next tournament, I’m going to sign up.
Beyond the competitive aspect, it was an entertaining and enriching activity. I truly enjoyed watching the games; the atmosphere was very welcoming, and you could feel the excitement from both players and spectators. Without a doubt, it was an experience worth repeating.

Fantasía-Tumbao
From Queretaro to the Stage of Palacio de Bellas Artes
The Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City witnessed a historic moment with the debut of Fantasía-Tumbao: salsa y bolero para orquesta de camara, a work by composer and professor Luis Mario Ruelas from Arkansas State University, Queretaro – Elisia Education Hub.
Performed by the Mexican National Symphony Orchestra (OSN) under the direction of Ludwig Carrasco, the concert took place on September 19 and 21, 2025, bringing together a vibrant fusion of salsa, bolero, and concert music. The result was a unique musical experience that seamlessly combined academic research, artistic practice, and regional pride on the country’s most iconic stage.
This premiere also represents an extraordinary milestone: Luis Mario Ruelas is the first composer from León to present a debut with the OSN at Bellas Artes, and only the third from the state of Guanajuato to achieve such an honor.
More than a performance, Fantasía-Tumbao showcased the cultural and academic contributions of our community at A-State Queretaro, highlighting how local talent can resonate on a global stage.
