David Wortham announced that he would soon be retiring after a 44-year career at The City of Howe in the Public Works department in which he’s served as director for many years. It is estimated without official record that Wortham is the longest tenured city employee in the town's history.

Documented in The Howe Enterprise in Volume 53, Edition 7, Wortham started his career with the city on the trash truck. With a great attitude and work ethic, Wortham jumped to the top of the public works division for Howe. He also has served as a volunteer

Wortham is a 1975 graduate of Howe High School and is the son of Marilee and the late Dug Wortham.

Summit Hill Elementary Students and Employee of the Month

Jennifer Pabon-I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, have been married for 16 years and have three kids. My husband joined the Army January 2011 and for the past eight years we’ve been traveling the world. We’ve been stationed in South Korea, Italy, and Texas. Through these years, I’ve had the privilege of working at Military Schools as a SPED Aide Teacher and Pre-K Teacher. When we moved to Texas, adjusting was a little hard, until I had the privilege to start working at Howe ISD as a SPED Aide Teacher. I feel very lucky to be surrounded with such amazing teachers and leaders. Sadly, duty calls and the Army is relocating us back to Italy by the end of December. But I am taking the best memories and experiences from Summit Hill Elementary with me and will be forever grateful for everything and for all.
