The Howe 7th grade Bulldogs won 20-14 at Lone Oak on Thursday afternoon. Quarterback Garren Lankford was the star of the game scoring three touchdowns. Lankford opened the scoring in the game with an 11-yard scamper with 3:13 left in the second quarter to give Howe a 6-0 lead.
Lone Oak scored on a 15-yard pass and a 2-point conversion to take the lead at 8-6 with 11 seconds remaining before half.

Lankford again scored on a 15yarder and ran in the 2-point conversion for a 14-8 Howe lead. Another Lone Oak touchdown tied the game with 3:12 remaining, but Lankford scored from the 4 yard line with :31 left in the game to give Howe a 22-14 lead after a Braden Ulmer 2-point conversion. Lone Oak threatened to score late, but Triston Williams intercepted a pass to end the game.
The 8th grade Bulldogs lost to Lone Oak 28-8 and the JV lost by a score of 27-24 with Luke Lopez scoring twice with two 2-point conversions. Damious Wilson scored the final touchdown and 2point conversion after a catch by Ryan Hough. Matt Hayes’ interception set up a score.

Liss also expressed appreciation for the support of the Bulldog football team and coaches in attendance at this past Saturday's competition.
"I can't even begin to tell you how much that meant to us. I so appreciate the school spirit and camaraderie that Coach J (Bill Jehling) brings to our school and I have so much respect for how he tries to instill this in his ath- letes. Looking up and seeing those guys in the stands cheering for us made my Bulldog heart nearly burst with pride!"
C.H. Collins Athletic Complex in Denton will be the site for the area competition this Saturday, October 26. The area contest is a prelims/finals format with 10 bands advancing from prelims to finals and the top four bands in the finals advancing to the UIL State Marching Contest. General admission for the area contest is $3 per person. A schedule of events will become available early in the week.
