“You are God’s masterpiece,” Ephesians 2:10 A masterpiece is how we describe a person’s greatest work of art; it is excellence in skill and mindfully created. When God’s word describes you as His masterpiece can you accept it do you think surely He’s not talking about you

You were created to feel good about yourself but because of a sin nature we cannot do everything right Shame, guilt and condemnation makes you feel you don’t deserve to be called God’s masterpiece If you are defining yourself by possessions, accomplishments or the way others perceive you it will lead to disappointment Your personal identity, or the way you see yourself, starts early in life Parents can say things that can make you doubt your worth. Experiences in school and with peers, rejections or abuse also shape how you view yourself. We relate to each other from the magnifying glass of how we see ourselves What you believe in your heart about yourself deeply influences how you act “As a person thinks in his heart, he

If you speak negative about yourself it places a heavy burden on your spirit. If you speak negative about others it places a burden in your spirit and a burden on them, also The problem is because God created humans in His image You are created for righteousness, love, and acceptance You can’t receive love and acceptance from God if you are against yourself or others God continually pours out love, forgiveness and acceptance upon His children but so many don’t know how to receive it You have to take action to overcome this negative behavior Purposely think and say only good things I’m not talking prideful, this is the opposite of pride, it’s agreeing with the Lord. “Because you are precious in My sight and honored, and because I love you…” Isaiah 43:4. Stop rejecting yourself and let the healing begin

You will discover your unique identity as you spend more time with the Lord Your identity in Christ is emphasized in Scripture Possessions can come and go and accomplishments be forgotten but your identity in Christ was bought by the blood of Jesus God loves you You are loved by God “For God so loved the world the He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life,” John 3:16

Six years ago my husband and I lost everything in a house fire

Two life’s worth of possessions and records of accomplishments became ashes before our eyes As I watched our home burn I sang to the top of my voice, “This is the day the Lord has made I WILL rejoice and be glad in it ” I refused to allow bitterness to gain root in my life God had not forsaken me and my identity was in who I am in Him “There is no fear in love, but perfect love cast out fear, because fear has punishment; and he that fears is not made perfect in love,”

1 John 4:18. What this means is that if you love God with all your heart, and you are secure in your faith, you know how much you are loved by your Father in Heaven, you will not be afraid of being punished by God The fear referred to is the fear of judgment, the fear of lack, the fear of death These fears bring torment and are inconsistent with trusting God I wept with the loss of our house, but I knew God was for me and not against me
