HOWE’S HAPPENINGS Victory Independent Publishing
This week the City Council Meeting article was massively condensed down compared to our usual coverage. We will continue the article next week in our usual fashion, but for now, congratulations to the “Mayor Brag Moment” recipients in this week’s coverage. Thank you for your patience. Things covered next week will include the Departmental Reports, those recognized for their volunteerism at the local library, extensive coverage on the water situation in Howe, among other things. I am going to use my column space this week to shamelessly plug something I am passionate about. Every first Friday of the month at 6 a.m. at Community Bible Fellowship we have started a time set aside for prayer for our community, leadership, country, etc. All citizens are invited to come and pray regardless of if you attend church, or which you choose to attend– we only ask that you are a Christian, as that is the only God we are praying to. This is something we hope to open up to the community to participate in. If you have questions about this please reach out to me.! Thanks.

The citizen resisting arrest had given a false name, and was fighting due to his belief he was in danger of being arrested for as a suspect in a Sherman Fentanyl homicide. “This is a painful reminder of the dangers of police work and our
small community is not exempt from these types of people traveling, visiting and committing crimes in Howe. This event could have had another ending if it were not for the citizen who stopped to help the officer in need.”, Chief Jake Sullivan. Michelle Hewitt was also nominated for
the phenomenal job she does in helping the citizens of Howe. Captain Trevor Reed of the Howe Fire Department/ EMS was also nominated for his recent work in an accident in the area. Chief Maniet stated, “Captain Trevor Reed goes above and beyond (Continued on Page 5)
