We are so happy to not be reporting that a major tornado struck Howe, this week! We all need to be thanking the good Lord that this paper isn’t filled with destruction, lost homes, fatalities, etc. this week! That was a close one!
Feed My Sheep Summer Backpack Program Volunteer and Donation Opportunities Ashley Husbands
This summer, Feed My Sheep, the local food pantry, is doing an event to feed the school children of the area over the summer. Feed My Sheep is located within the Howe Methodist Church and feeds, on average, 40-60 people per week. There are an average of 5 new families per week currently, not including the summer backpack program. The average cost of obtaining food for the pantry to give to the community in addition to donations received by North Texas Food Bank and others, is at least $3600 per month.
