More Street Repairs Approved for Howe at City Council Meeting Ashley Husbands
This week’s song is a favorite of the editor in celebration of the roads around here changing! The original song was fantastic, no one can argue that, but this version has it’s own beat to appreciate. As the town of Howe is set for growth, the country roads of “Little Mayberry”, as I affectionately love to call Howe, are set to get a little more funky with city folk like myself coming in. The country roads are getting a makeover, just like this song did. You might like the original best, but I hope you can appreciate the remix (and the type of people who love it) too!
School Board Meeting Recap – Bond Election Coming Soon! Ashley Husbands
Intermediate School, Ms. Noble introduced students who performed well at the UIL competitions earlier in the month. The students performed incredibly well and brought pride to Howe ISD.
This Tuesday evening the City Council met for a special meeting to discuss and approve a wide array of issues within the town, including repair of several roads. Exciting news for funding of the local baseball fields was also included.
Last week, the Howe ISD Board of Trustees had their monthly meeting. Several items were on the agenda, including a reminder of elections May 3rd, for the bond the school hopes to pass to improve Howe ISD.
To begin the meeting Officer Sam Wallingford was welcomed as the newest member of the Howe Police Department. Officer Marshall Bengs was also recognized for “his outstanding service to our community.” Mayor McDonald stated, “Chief Sullivan reported to me that on January 21, 2025 Of-
