HOWE’S HAPPENINGS Victory Independent Publishing

This week, we are thankful to be back to an almost regularly sized paper. Thank you again for all of your patience. The Patriot Pony section now includes external links within each article for more information regarding world news. The Howe Enterprise does not claim to agree with or have certainty of the validity in all things posted in The Patriot Pony. As a journalist, I learned early on that if I did not see something with my own eyes, in-person and not on a screen, I had no way of knowing with certainty what occurred in an event. 1440 News is a relatively non-biased source, in my assessment so far, but as with all media, including this paper, flaws and biases, intentional or not, are possible. We will continue to use 1440 unless an issue arises, now with expanded links to enjoy! Also, check out our lovely Backyard Birds Column on page 9 this week to see some springtime nest pictures! Have a great week, Howe, TX!

Grayson County Early Voting is Now Underway

US 75 Entrance/Exit Ramps at Various Locations to be Closed

Photo Credit: Grayson County Website Ashley Husbands This week, early voting began in Grayson County. More information regarding voting will be included in next week’s edition.

Posted on February 18, 2026– City of Howe Website PARIS - Texas Department of Transportation officials today announced that various entrance/exit ramps to & from US 75 will be closed at the following locations, dates and times · US 75 northbound entrance from Haning St. to be closed for few hours on Feb. 23 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. · US 75 northbound exit to FM 902 to be closed for few hours on Feb. 23 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. · US 75 southbound entrance from FM 902 to be closed for few hours on Feb. 24 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. · US 75 southbound exit to Haning St. to be closed for few hours on Feb. 24 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. These closures are needed to safely perform the overlay work on the frontage road. Closing the ramps will mitigate the potential for frequent instances of traffic veering off their lane. It will also mitigate the potential for driver confusion. Crews will be laying hot mix asphalt overlay on the frontage road. The closure will allow for the hot mix asphalt to cool down before it is opened to traffic. Message boards will be placed ahead of the ramps to alert drivers. Motorists who travel frequently in this area are asked to pay special attention to all barricades, traffic controls and signs, and to reduce their speed as they approach and travel through work zones. They should also avoid distractions such as cell phones, eating, drinking, or car audio or navigation systems.
