This week in celebration of the day of lovers, Valentine’s Day, we will take a peek into a lifetime of love shared by a local couple. Valentine’s Day– a day set aside to celebrate love for all ages involved. Children enjoy sharing Valentine’s Day cards with classmates and friends, local teenagers spend their only few dollars to get something for their sweetheart, and those who have made the commitment of marriage to another soul celebrate year after year. Some prefer to watch romantic movies on the holiday, but no movie can possibly ever be as
sweet and beautiful as a real lifetime love story in your very own town. Harold and Wanda Taylor, both graduates from Howe High School, met during their youth. Shortly after high school they reconnected and were married on June 20, 1959 The Taylors moved a bit before settling back in Howe in the early 60’s, where they have lived since. Together, they not only poured into this community but created a family consisting of 3 children, 8 grandchildren, and 9 greatgrandchildren. This will be their 65th Valentine’s Day together as a married couple! Happy Valentine’s Day!
Alternatively, if your fires of love have gone from “hotter than a pepper sprout” to stale, maybe your plans this year should include “going on down to Jackson.”
Love is….. Patient Kind Does not envy Does not boast Is not proud Does not dishonor others Is not self-seeking Is not easily angered Keeps no record of wrongs Rejoices with the truth Always protects Always trusts Always hopes Always perserveres 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
