As we reflect on another successful year at Houston Christian High School, I am grateful for the vibrant community we share. In this annual report, you will see how our Core Values Honor, Community, Heritage, and Scholarship have guided us, and I want to express my appreciation for the generosity of our families and God’s faithfulness in our journey
Honor is at the heart of our mission This year, our students demonstrated respect and integrity in both academics and social interactions, honoring each other and our shared commitments.
The strength of our Community has been evident in countless moments. From school events to parent-led initiatives, the collaboration among families, faculty, and staff has created an environment where everyone feels valued and connected
Heritage connects us to the traditions and history that have shaped our school. I have been inspired by our students engaging with this history, learning from those who came before them, and applying those lessons in leadership.
Scholarship remains a cornerstone of our mission Our students achieved notable academic successes, driven by curiosity and dedication, supported by faculty and families fostering a culture of excellence
I am deeply grateful for the generosity of our families and for God’s guidance in every aspect of our school. His grace has shaped our decisions and illuminated our path. Together, we honor our values, strengthen our community, and trust that God has great plans for our school and every member of it
Thank you for your partnership and support as we honor our values, cultivate our community, and inspire our students to lead academically and spiritually Together, we are nurturing the leaders and scholars of tomorrow, and I am excited to see how God continues to work in and through us
Most sincerely,

Ms Leanne Messer Head of School

At Houston Christian, the excellence of our academic program begins with the dedication of our faculty and staff. Our teachers are not only experts in their disciplines they are mentors, encouragers, and role models who invest deeply in each student’s success They design learning experiences that challenge and inspire, guiding students through a process of growth that values progression over perfection Whether supporting advanced scholars in collegiate-level research or equipping students with learning differences to reach their potential, our faculty meet students where they are and help them rise higher Beyond academics, they nurture faith, character, and purpose; preparing students to lead with integrity and make a lasting impact on the world. The commitment of our faculty and staff defines the Houston Christian experience and fuels every achievement our students attain

Each year during our Missions Emphasis Week, we proudly participate in Serve Day, where every Mustang has the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work in our community. Each grade level serves with a different local organization, learning what it means to be the hands and feet of Christ in a tangible way.

Seniors served at Sleep in Heavenly Peace, an organization that builds and delivers beds to children who do not have a bed of their own. Our Mustangs assembled and prepared beds, giving children a safe and comfortable place to sleep while supporting families in need
Freshmen and sophomores teamed up with Kids Meals, an organization that combats childhood hunger by delivering free, nutritious meals to preschool-aged children in food-insecure homes. In partnership with MetroNational, building on our long-standing relationship with their team, our Mustangs decorated and packed more than 8,000 lunches for young children in need Special thanks to our Mustang Parent Council for their support!
Junior boys partnered with Target Hunger, an organization dedicated to addressing both immediate and long-term food insecurity Students assisted with agricultural projects, maintaining community gardens, planting crops, and preparing fresh food, helping ensure that local families have access to nutritious produce.
Seniors also served The Brookwood Community, a residential and vocational program for adults with disabilities. Students brought joy and connection to residents by hosting a spring carnival, complete with crafts, music, dancing, and engaging activities, creating meaningful interactions and memorable experiences for the community
Junior girls served at the Houston Food Bank, which has been providing meals to those in need across the greater Houston area since 1982. Our Mustangs helped sort, inspect, and pack food for distribution, directly contributing to the relief of hunger for individuals and families facing economic hardship

It is through your generosity that Houston Christian flourishes. Because of the faithful support of parents, grandparents, alumni, parents of alumni, faculty, staff, trustees, and friends, we are able to live out our mission of equipping students to discover their God-given purpose, develop their unique talents, and grow as leaders for the next generation We are deeply grateful for the many ways you invest in our students and community We would be honored to connect with you about the opportunities to support Houston Christian’s mission and ministry
As an independent school, Houston Christian relies on community support to meet needs beyond the annual operating budget. The Mustang Fund plays a vital role, enhancing classroom materials, faculty development, and co-curricular programs It offers flexibility to meet immediate needs while upholding our mission Our goal is 100% participation from faculty, staff, trustees, and parents Every gift demonstrates belief in our students, faculty, and future

Houston Christian’s long-term growth is rooted in vision and generosity. Through strategic planning and prayerful discernment, we occasionally pursue special initiatives, such as new programs, facility enhancements, or campus expansion, that ensure lasting success These projects help us create an environment where students and faculty thrive, and our mission comes to life daily

Endowments provide lasting financial strength These permanent funds generate ongoing support, enabling us to plan confidently while advancing priorities like student aid, faculty development, and campus preservation. Endowments ensure impact today, and for generations to come.
Events at Houston Christian build community, celebrate mission, and raise essential funds Each gathering fosters connection, deepens relationships, and strengthens our culture. They reflect who we are: grounded in faith, fellowship, and a shared commitment to developing Christian leaders.
Planned giving is a lasting way to support Houston Christian’s mission. Through estate gifts, such as bequests or trusts, donors can align their values with our future and leave a legacy that benefits generations of students while also supporting personal and family goals

Houston Christian proudly celebrates the completion of its new state-of-the-art locker rooms, a transformative milestone for Mustang Athletics This facility provides student-athletes with a modern, functional, and inspiring environment designed to support athletic performance, personal growth, and the development of leadership and character.
