THE PARTY OF FREEDOM AND LIBERTY FOR ALL... I met former Judge Loyd Wright way back during the 2014 Midterm Election cycle. This was back during a time when the gap between the Harris County Democratic Party and the Harris County Republican Party wasn’t so vast. Former Judge Loyd Wright and I enjoyed good success back in those 2014 Midterms. Now, in case you don’t remember, he handily defeated his Democratic rival, Kim Bohannon Hoesl by garning 55.18% of the vote. But a lot has happened since those days. My friend lost his bench back during the 2018 Midterm Election. And I must tell you that I was heartbroken by the fact that I couldn’t help him hold onto his Harris County Probate Court #1 bench. However, I am pleased to now announce that former Judge Loyd Wright will have the full support and endorsement of our “NON-PARTISAN READER BOARD” on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, in the upcoming Midterm Election for Texas.

For those of you who might not know, I met Harris County Republican Party Chairwoman Cindy Siegel last year around the time she got mugged. "When this incident occurred, I was attending a routine monthly young Republicans event, surrounded by young men and women," she revealed. "I also have two daughters of my own that have grown up their entire lives in the Houston area. As a mother, I believe our children deserve better than the frightening circumstances I was faced with when I got mugged. Unfortunately, crime in Houston has risen to levels beyond Chicago, and County Judge Lina Hidalgo and District Attorney Kim Ogg have proven that public safety is not a priority for them,” she says.

A Few Top Priorities

After getting a better understanding of what happened to Harris County Republican Party Chair Cindy Siegel when she got mugged, I now totally understand why doing something about crime is one of her top priorities. I furthermore believe that she now has the unique ability to see issues related to crime in Harris County from a totally different perspective -- as a crime victim. "As County Chair, my job is to ensure that we elect leaders that make fighting crime a top priority. I vow to do whatever it takes to clean up our streets, reverse dangerous policies that protect criminals instead of victims, and make sure our law enforcement has all of the tools and resources needed to keep us safe and make Houston a good place to live, work, and raise a family again. Public safety is not a partisan issue. I hope all mothers, fathers, business owners, students, and residents of Harris County will stand with me to enact change and build a stronger, safer community now and in the future."

AUBREY R. TAYLOR: Tell me a little about your outlook for the 2022 Midterm Election cycle whereas Harris County is concerned?

HCRP CHAIR CINDY SIEGEL: “We most definitely have our work cut out for us. However, when you dig into the November 2020 election results locally, you see with the right candidate who works hard and has a good message - we can still win races. But we need a strong local party that is there to support their efforts. That is what I'm focused on - building a strong team of precinct chairs and volunteers, working to recruit and cultivate good candidates, and expanding the base into communities that we haven't reached before. With what President Biden is doing at a national level and how it is impacting Houston and Texas as it relates to jobs and the economy - I think that will help us bring new voters into our party. Then when you factor locally the rising crime rate across the City and

County due in large part to Democrat leadership and policies, that should help us also increase our base."

AUBREY R. TAYLOR: Back in 2012, the gap between former President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney was only 971 votes in Harris County, Texas. How did the gap get so wide between Democrats and Republicans in such a short period of time?

HCRP CHAIR CINDY SIEGEL: “As a party, we have been complacent. Texas has been red for a long time. Meanwhile, the Democrats have been out there consistently working to bring new voters into their party. We've only in the last year or so really focused locally and across the state on getting out and registering new voters.”

AUBREY R. TAYLOR: How important is outreach to ethnic groups outside of the traditional Republican Party voter base?

HCRP CHAIR CINDY SIEGEL: “Very important. If we're going to overcome the big vote differential between the two parties, we have got to reach out to the diverse communities that make up Harris County. What has been viewed as ethnic minority groups, like the Latino community, are the fastest-growing part of our County. I believe that many of the various ethnic groups are Republican - they just don't know it. They want a good life and for their families to be able to live and work in safe neighborhoods and their children to have the opportunity to have a great education. Just like every Republican. That is why we need to be sharing our party's message of hope and opportunity with them. We can no longer as a local party just rely upon our base to get out the vote and think we can win." AUBREY R. TAYLOR: Do you believe cheating is taking place in local elections? If so, what do you think can be done to stop the cheating?

HCRP CHAIR CINDY SIEGEL: “Yes, given the affidavits that our election judges, clerks, and poll workers turned in about election law violations they saw

during early voting and on Election Day in November. In a perfect world, we would scrap the voter registration files and start over with everyone re-registering. But realistically, that is not going to occur. So, our focus is on helping get legislation passed this session that will strengthen the controls over the election process and impose harsher penalties for violations. We're focusing on recruiting more election judges, clerks, and poll watchers to fill early voting and Election Day polls. We're increasing the training provided by the party to ensure our election worker volunteers understand what legal recourse they have if they see a violation. Additionally, we are raising money for future legal challenges re: incidents of the more egregious election fraud. But we also need to work to have Republicans running for judge in all spots on the ballot and help them win. We need Republican judges

who understand election law and won't pass on hearing or addressing legal challenges as it relates to election fraud - which is what the Democrat judges have done.”

AUBREY R. TAYLOR: Do think the gap between the Democratic nominees and the Republican nominees can be closed in the Tuesday, November 8, 2022 Midterm Election in Harris County?

HCRP CHAIR CINDY SIEGEL: “If you're asking whether we can ensure that we have someone running in every position on the ballot - yes. If you're asking about the gap between who wins and loses the races in 2022, it will take hard work - a strong message, good candidates who are willing to knock on doors, and a great ground game focusing on working each precinct to win votes.”

AUBREY R. TAYLOR: Why do you think crime is so bad in Houston right now?

HCRP CHAIR CINDY SIEGEL: “We have a social activist Democrat DA and social activist Democrat judges who have created a revolving door where they release violent criminals with no or little bond immediately back into the city. Democrat social justice policies and the De-fund police movement have created an environment where the criminals are emboldened. Our police are demoralized by what is going on locally and nationally. So, it is no wonder that crime has gone up. Democrats claim it was due to COVID. If it was solely due to COVID - why have we bypassed Chicago in violent crimes? Chicago has experienced COVID, too.”

We believe in:

Freedom from an overreaching government.

Unelected bureaucrats and our federal government should not overregulate and dictate how we live our daily lives. We believe that prosperity for all comes through the free market and policies that encourage job development, economic growth and entrepreneurship in the United States vs. promoting a global economy that sacrifices American jobs and national security.

Freedom from those who want to weaken the sanctity of our elections.

We believe that all Americans should have confidence in the integrity of our elections and that each vote cast is cast

by a citizen who has the legal right to vote. Without elections that are fair, open and transparent, the very foundation of our democracy is at risk.

Freedom from crime.

The rights of criminals do not trump the rights of the law-abiding citizen. Activist judges and defunding police tears down the laws that are there to protect the rights of the individual and prevent mob rule. All Americans deserve to live their lives and raise their families in neighborhoods that are free from crime.

Freedom from failing schools.

Our children should have the right to an education that will give them the knowledge and skills to have a successful life and one that is free from indoctrination. We believe that teaching our country’s history (warts and all) is necessary to ensure mistakes are not repeated. We also oppose

teachers and administration that impose their personal beliefs on our children and promote racism and division through policies like critical race theory. We believe that school policies should support educational achievement and provide parents the freedom to make the best academic choice for their children.

Freedom from democrats who want to limit our freedoms.

We believe in a limited government that allows every American the freedom to live their life in the way they choose. We believe the government and elected officials are there to serve and protect all Americans (including the unborn), not the elite few. We believe it is not the purpose of government to dictate our religion, how we raise our children, or how we live our lives.

WHAT FREEDOM MEANS TO ME..

I looked to my grandfathers for mentorship while growing up. From an early age, I was inspired by their stories of service and leadership in the defense of our freedom. My maternal grandfather was the first in his family to graduate high school and through his career of service in the U.S. Navy, also became the first in his family to graduate college. My paternal grandfather was forced to flee Spain as a political refugee. He ultimately gained his U.S. citizenship through service in the U.S. Army. Following in my family’s tradition, I decided to attend the United States Military Academy at West Point following the 9/11 Attacks. Upon graduation, I served in the Army bomb squad. Through my experience leading soldiers in combat, I demonstrated the skills necessary to lead during times of crisis and that has prepared me to lead the county through the crisis we currently face. The protection of our freedoms has been a theme throughout my life, one that my entire family has shared. They’re too important to sit idly by hoping that someone else will protect them and that’s especially true in Harris County, where our way of life has been under attack. I’m running for Harris County Judge to restore our way of life.

BALLOT BY MAIL

RETURNING A VOTED BALLOT

In the process of voting and returning your mail ballot, make sure to follow the steps below:

1). Read all the instructions; 2). Use BLACK or BLUE ink to mark your choices on the ballot; 3). Place voted ballot in the Ballot Envelope and seal it; 4). Place Ballot Envelope in the enclosed pre-addressed carrier envelope; 5). Provide your identification number underneath the flap. 6). Seal carrier envelope and sign where indicated exactly as you signed the ballot by mail request; 7). Place appropriate postage and return it;

RETURNING YOUR BALLOT

A completed mail ballot MUST be returned to the Harris County Election Administrator’s Office in the Official Carrier Envelope provided to you. It may be returned in any of the following manners:

1). Regular residential mail via United States Postal Service; a. Ballots must be postmarked by 7:00 p.m. on Election day and received by 5:00 p.m. on the first business day after Election Day. 2). In-person drop off at Harris County Election Harris County Administration Building (1001 Preston, Houston, Texas 77002) on Election Day only from 7 am – 7 pm a. You must present an acceptable form of photo identification b. If a voter does not possess and cannot reasonably obtain an acceptable form of photo identification, the voter may show a List B identification and complete a Reasonable Impediment Declaration (RID) c. Only the voter may deliver their ballot in person 3). Common or contract carrier; such as personal courier, or FedEx or UPS, or other contracted mail service a. Ballot must be received by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day b. If the carrier provides receipt mark indicating a time before 7:00 p.m. on Election Day, it may be received by 5:00 p.m. on the first business day after Election Day.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTES

A voted ballot postmarked by Election Day must be received by the early voting clerk no later than 5:00 pm on the next business day after Election Day. If there is no postmark, early voting clerk must receive these ballots by 7:00 pm on Election Day. Ballots from civilians abroad must be received by the early voting clerk no later than the 5th day after Election Day. Ballots from Military voters must be received by the early voting clerk no later than the 6th day after Election Day.
