GALVESTON & TEXAS HISTORY CENTER, ROSENBERG LIBRARY
The Galveston and Texas History Center (GTHC) is the archival repository of the Rosenberg Library, Texas’ oldest continuously run public library and the only public library on Galveston Island The GTHC was just featured in a YouTube video series produced by the Daily News on the historyofMardiGras on the island. In September,theywerefeaturedonthe Lone Star Libraries series, produced by the Texas Center for the Book and the Texas State Library and Archives Commission Last summer, the GTHC rolled out its new digital collections portal, enhancing online access to some of its most popular photograph andmanuscriptcollections.
MOODY FAMILY PAPERS & BUSINESS RECORDS
The Moody Family Papers and BusinessRecordscompriseover1,000 linear feet of materials that illustrate the personal, social, business, political, legal, and financial activities of the Galveston-based Moody family and business enterprise over nearly 200years.Themassivecollectionwas donated by the Mary Moody Northen Endowment to the GTHC in November 2022. After over three years of processing, Record Group I: Family Papers is open for research! A selection of personal letters – several datedduringtheCivilWar–aswellas photographs, finding aids, and a digital exhibit are available online on theGTHCDigitalCollectionssite.
