delivers thoughtfully designed, high-quality kitchen and bath renovations through meticulous planning, skilled raftsmanship and clear communication from start to finish.

Whave plenty of sources for inspiration, from HGTV and social media to the triedand-true formula of borrowing ideas from their friends and family members. But nothing beats the guidance of a seasoned team of designers and builders who have experience in a wide range of styles and have overcome every obstacle imaginable in creating beautiful spaces that can truly transform a residence.
With decades of experience across residential and commercial construction, Icon has worked in virtually every environment imaginable—from modern Center City condos to traditional Main Line homes and Bucks County farmhouses. Some clients come in with a clear vision, while others need guidance in shaping their space. In both cases, Icon’s role is the same: to manage the entire process with clarity, precision and confidence.
“Whatever they dream, we can make it happen,” says Project Manager Francisco Hernandez. “After decades in construction,

we’ve seen a lot—but we still approach each project with fresh eyes and ears.”

With nearly three decades in construckitchens, bathrooms and basements long been central to Icon Remodeling’s work—spaces that consistently provide the greatest impact on both daily living and longterm home value.
“These are the projects we’ve spent years refining,” Hernandez explains. “Kitchens and bathrooms demand the highest level of coordination, craftsmanship and planning. That’s where our experience really shows, and where we’ve built our reputation.”
The Icon difference is based on unique design elements, smarter layouts and the installation of premium materials that will stand the test of time. Just as important is the client experience, which starts with an on-site consultation so the team can get a feel for the space.
From there, they ask important questions and create open dialogue to make sure the design fits the client’s lifestyle. Meticulous planning throughout preconstruction leads to a timely scheduling of the job, which is executed with a strict attention to detail.
“We operate as a true one-stop shop,” Hernandez says. “We walk clients through layout options, material selections and visual planning tools like 3D renderings so they understand exactly what they’re getting before construction begins.”
Transparency is a cornerstone of that process. Homeowners receive detailed, accurate proposals with no hidden fees, along with flexible options that allow them to plan their project responsibly.
“There are no surprises down the line,” Hernandez adds. “We’re very deliberate in how we scope and price projects. Because our work is handled by an in-house team, we
maintain tighter quality control, clearer communication and more reliable timelines from start to finish.”
Just as important as the physical result is the experience itself. Icon places a strong emphasis on communication, ensuring clients are kept informed and never left wondering where their project stands. The goal is to avoid the horror stories that so many people have experienced with contractors, and to not just complete one stunning project, but to build a lasting relationship moving forward. That way, the homeowners know they can rely on Icon the next time they have remodeling needs.
“Too often, homeowners feel disconnected once construction starts,” Hernandez says. “We believe communication sets the tone for the entire relationship. Our goal is to be responsive, proactive and clear at every stage.”
That philosophy is aimed at doing more than completing a single renovation. Icon’s objective is to become a long-term partner for homeowners—someone they trust not just for one project, but for future improvements as well.

WWHEN IT COMES TO CHOOSING THE RIGHT FLOORING THAT ACTUALLY FITS YOUR LIFESTYLE, IT CAN BE TRICKY TO KNOW WHERE TO START. Before you make an investment you could potentially regret, it’s best to seek the advice of an experienced flooring specialist who can help guide you through the process and help you make an informed decision that you will enjoy for years to come.
We spoke with Rich Lauletta, owner of Haddon Flooring, to find out more about what homeowners need to know when it comes time to choose the right floor to blend seamlessly with their living spaces.

Rich Lauletta Owner
FIRST, WHAT DREW YOU TO THE WORLD OF FLOORING?
It may sound unusual, but I truly love flooring. I’m a perfectionist when it comes to installation because floors set the tone for the entire home. When they’re done right, everything else just works. What I enjoy most is the transformation. Seeing a space go from dated to elevated—and watching a homeowner’s reaction—is incredibly rewarding.
And most of my other ventures are real estate related, so flooring is also very synergistic.
WHAT’S THE BIGGEST FLOORING MISTAKE HOMEOWNERS MAKE TODAY?ING HARDWOOD?
Choosing a floor based solely on how it looks online. Floors live hard lives—kids, pets, spills, sunlight, furniture and daily traffic all matter. We often meet homeowners who fell in love with a product on Instagram, only to realize later it wasn’t right for how they actually live. Our job is to match design, durability and lifestyle, not just trends.
IS LUXURY VINYL PLANK (LVP) REALLY REPLACING HARDWOOD?
Not replacing, but evolving how we think about flooring. Hardwood is still timeless and beautiful, but one of the biggest design shifts we’re seeing is a move toward one continuous floor throughout the home. Today’s premium LVP makes that possible in spaces where hardwood simply isn’t practical—like kitchens, mudrooms, basements and homes with kids or pets. High-end LVP now offers incredibly realistic wood visuals, consistent color tones and excellent durability, allowing homeowners to achieve a seamless,
cohesive look without worrying about moisture or wear. For clients who love the look of uninterrupted flooring from room to room, LVP has become a very compelling option.
HOW DO HOMEOWNERS KNOW WHAT FLOORING WORKS BEST FOR THEIR HOME?
They don’t—until they see it in their space. Lighting, wall color, furniture and layout dramatically affect how a floor looks. That’s why we offer in-home design consultations. Seeing samples in your actual home eliminates guesswork and prevents expensive regret. Most clients tell us this step alone makes the decision crystal clear.
WHAT FLOORING OPTIONS ADD THE MOST VALUE WHEN SELLING A HOME?ABOUT THE OTHER SERVICES YOU OFFER?
Clean, cohesive, neutral floors—done right. New floors consistently deliver one of the highest returns on investment. Buyers love spaces that feel fresh, bright and move-in ready. We frequently work with sellers and realtors to choose products that maximize appeal without overspending, helping homes sell faster and often for more money.
WHAT’S THE MOST DURABLE OPTION FOR BUSY HOUSEHOLDS WITH KIDS OR PETS?
High-quality LVP and engineered hardwood. For families, durability matters more than anything. Today’s LVP resists scratches, spills and heavy wear, while engineered hardwood offers a real-wood surface with added stability. We guide clients toward products that won’t have them worrying every time a cup tips over or a dog runs through the house.
HOW IMPORTANT IS PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION VERSUS DIY?
It’s everything. Even the best flooring product

will fail if installed incorrectly. Proper subfloor prep, moisture protection, layout planning and transitions make the difference between floors that last 20 years and floors that fail in two. Professional installation protects your investment—and your sanity.
WHAT SETS HADDON FLOORING APART FROM BIG-BOX STORES?
Personal service, better value and real accountability. We’re a local South Jersey company with deep experience working in livedin homes. That means honest guidance (not upselling); competitive pricing without bigbox overhead; clean, efficient installations; and working with one team from consultation through completion. Our reputation is built locally—and we treat every home like it’s our own.

WHAT’S ONE THING HOMEOWNERS SHOULD DO BEFORE STARTING A FLOORING PROJECT?
Have a real conversation with an expert. Flooring decisions impact how your home looks, feels and functions every day. A quick phone call or in-home estimate can save thousands of dollars and years of frustration. Even if you’re “just exploring,” we’re happy to help you think it through.
HOW CAN READERS GET STARTED WITH HADDON FLOORING?
Call us for a free estimate and in-home consultation. We’ll help you explore options, understand pricing, and choose floors you’ll love long-term—without pressure.

Welcome the spring season with a new and improved landscape. By Giana Scafide

ith spring just around the corner, many homeowners should start thinking about refreshing their landscape to make the most of the warmer months ahead. But knowing when to get started, what to prioritize and how to avoid mistakes can make all the difference in a finalized outdoor space. From soil preparation to the overall look, timing and knowledge matters, so utilizing a landscape expert is key in achieving the perfect outdoor space for spring.
To help homeowners with spring landscape designs, House and Home spoke with local experts about the most effective ways to get an outdoor area ready for the upcoming season.
It is important to get a head start on spring landscaping to ensure everything is ready in time. Earlier preparation gives homeowners and professionals enough time to figure out designing, spacing and features that would work the best. Many experts say the best time to start preparing is in late winter, which allows plenty of time for homeowners to plan without the need to rush.
“As far as anybody who wants to add a patio, plantings, a shade structure, lighting—anything—start planning as soon as possible,” says Richard Cording, owner of CLC Landscape Design. “I would call a landscape architect and start on a landscape design, because between getting the design ideas worked out and getting the permits, it takes months. It’s not like you can call somebody in April and have your patio put in for May.”
Knowing when you want to start a spring landscaping project is important when it comes to the designing aspect as well. Homeowners shouldn’t plan without first having an idea of what they want their landscape to look like.
“The first task should be gathering inspiration for your project,” Greg Chakar, president of Arborvine Landscaping

says. “Whether that is photos of other projects, or just materials, this initial vision allows us to collaborate with our clients and create a cohesive plan that integrates their lifestyle and design preferences seamlessly.”
Homeowners should also know that when redoing an outdoor space, it’s important to remove unwanted materials to make room for new improvements. Brian Gill, owner of Gill’s Landscapings says, “The very first task we recommend is a thorough cleanup—removing leaves, branches and debris that have accumulated through fall and winter. This simple step gives you a clean slate, helps prevent mold or rot, and makes it easier to evaluate which plants need pruning, replacing or extra care heading into spring.”
With any outdoor project, it can be easy to make mistakes along the way without the proper knowledge. Starting too late, overmulching and skipping crucial steps are all common missteps made by homeowners.
Chris DeMato, owner of Rock Bottom Landscaping & Fencing, says, “Landscape design is an aspect of your home that can increase the value by as much as 20%. And I do understand homeowners will sometimes do their own gardening and maintenance in their yard, but I strongly recommend meeting with a professional when planning your design.”
Making sure homeowners and professionals have enough time to brainstorm and finalize the end result is essential too.
“Many homeowners will put off a project until the spring, but understand the mess that occurs on the property after a winter thaw,” says George Mihalchick, owner of Ponds by George. “Then when spring rains start, the mess can get even worse. This can

cause delays on the project and possible changes and additional costs. Don’t be afraid to have a project started in the late season. This way, you can enjoy it starting fresh for the new season and watch everything fill in.”
When it comes to budgeting, clarity from the very beginning makes the biggest difference when planning a landscaping project. Oftentimes, projects begin with an estimated idea or even a lack of investment, which can limit creative control of the project.
“A mistake we see is the lack of a clear budget and budget transparency. We can not only use this information to suggest phases for the project to fit within budgets, we can also guide you through different
Outdoor spaces have always been a space focused on relaxation and leisure time.
material options and installation practices that will best suit your budget. Without this transparency, our design consultants become limited in ways we can adjust and customize design plans and proposals,” says Chakar.
From eco-friendly features to outdoor spaces designed for hosting, there are always trends that homeowners gravitate toward, reflecting practicality and personality.
“I would say one of the most common requests we get as landscape architects is to design fire pit areas,” says Cording. “We’ve also been designing a ton of pavilions and pergolas. Pavilions have a solid permanent roof, and a pergola usually has what’s called a louvered roof where you can have it open and close.”

“Texture-adding hardscaping, walkaways, stones and boulders can add great interest to your design,” adds DeMato.
Today’s designs also favor environmentally friendly features to help create a space where homeowners can unwind and entertain. “Native plants, pollinator-friendly gardens and blended natural stone are extremely popular.

We’re also seeing more interest in outdoor living spaces—fire features, outdoor kitchens and integrated lighting that extends the usability of the yard. Modern, clean-line plantings with year-round texture are also trending,” Gill says.
Outdoor spaces have always been a space focused on relaxation and leisure time. Homeowners are now looking beyond the traditional layouts to create their own personalized areas.
“Outdoor saunas, plunge tubs and irrigated vegetable gardens are also becoming popular for the wellness minded homeowner. These all-inclusive spaces are coming together with finishing touches such as outdoor sound systems, landscape lighting and built-in heaters to ensure these spaces can be used day and night, year round, even in a northern climate,” Chakar says.
As you begin to plan a spring landscape project, one of the key decisions to make is whether to incorporate perennials or annuals. Understanding the two types, especially their appearance, how long they last and the maintenance required, can help homeowners develop a landscape that fits their aesthetic.
“It depends on their goals. Perennials are a great long-term investment because they return each year, grow fuller over time and require less frequent replacement,” Gill says. “Annuals, on the other hand, offer richer, brighter color and the ability to change the look of your landscape seasonally.”
While perennials and annuals both have their own advantages, relying only on one can limit the overall impact of a landscape.
“You want both. Perennials, even though they come back every year, they don’t last forever,” Cording says. “Annuals are in bloom from May 1 to Nov. 1 or later on, whereas most perennials bloom for a month or two months. So you want to

kind of have a combination of both.”
From refreshing gardens to elevating outdoor living areas, the choices made when planning a spring landscaping project sets the scene for the rest of the spring season. By balancing visual appeal with practicality, homeowners can create an outdoor living area that reflects their personal style, while investing in a space that will grow each season to come.

“other than the increased popularity of adding more bells and whistles to the pool.”

by Kristen Dowd
Swim-Mor Pools & Spas partner and general manager Mike McCool recognizes that there is a lot more that goes into a new pool than there used to be.
“The backyard has transformed over the last 10 years or so away from being just ‘your yard’ and into another room of your home with the same care and detail put into it,” McCool says. “Because of this the design of your pool has become more than just a pool but the focus of the outdoor living room. There is a lot of coordination with creating what a customer’s backyard haven is going to be.”
Fortunately, the family-owned South Jersey business is more than up to the challenge of bringing a customer’s backyard pool vision to life. In its 59 years of business, Swim-Mor Pools & Spas has helped to create thousands of backyard paradises throughout the region.
And what’s more, they make the process as easy as possible for their customers.
“We’re a start-to-finish gunite custom pool company—the design, the build and the service afterward,” McCool says. “We have our own crews that handle the work which helps us control quality and makes the process go smoother.”
There are six designers at Swim-Mor Pools & Spas who can help guide customers on a new pool design. The company’s countless photos and 3D drawings can provide inspiration, and the final design is what best suits the backyard, according to McCool.
“Size, setbacks, elevations. We’re here to help you work through that,” he says.

“The first step is to give us a call. From there we’ll set up an appointment to come out to your home,” McCool says. “That way we can see all the aspects of the property. What the contours of the yard are. What the access is like. Even the best location based on where the sun rises and sets.”
The timeline to get started is largely based on the homeowner and how decisive they are, McCool adds. Once everything is confirmed, things move to contract and Swim-Mor Pools & Spas starts working on permits.
“Time is of the essence. Permits can take from two weeks to several months, all depending on the municipality,” McCool says.
Prior to March 2020, business was strong for Swim-Mor Pools & Spa. That was only boosted when the COVID-19 pandemic hit the region.
“The pool business was never busier than it was in COVID,” McCool says. “The lockdowns forced people to stay at home and they immediately focused on the backyard.”
Although that business boom has settled down a bit, things are still busy. But pool trends, according to McCool, have held fairly steady.
Hampton-style pools have long been a customer favorite, but equally popular are the freeform designs, which can be customized to fit into any backyard environment.
“Through COVID there have not been many significant changes in the industry,” McCool says,
Natural stone is popular for the coping along the pool’s edge, McCool says, as well as darker finishes in the pool. A majority of SwimMor Pools & Spa customers are using a salt sanitation system and automated controls in their new pools, as well as choosing to add water features—waterfalls, fountains, deck jets and plenty more. The company also offers many in- pool fixtures for lounging—bar stools and benches that can tie into your outdoor kitchen or can run inside the pool, along with table areas, sundecks for your lounge chairs and custom fire features. Color LED lighting packcome with every pool, too.

The majority of customers also choose elements to lengthen their pool-enjoying season, as heaters and spas. “It will extend your season by a few months,” McCool says.

Being a local family-owned independent business makes Swim-Mor Pools & Spas a smart choice for customers, according to McCool.
“We’re not national. We’re not a franchise. And we do not try to sell everything. Our expertise has been building custom gunite pools for 59 years and that’s what we focus on,” he says.
Save for a few aspects that are legally required to be outsourced to independent licensed contractors, Swim-Mor Pools & Spas uses all of their own crews for the pool construction, which McCool says is unique for the pool business.
In addition to building new pools, SwimMor Pools & Spas also specializes in renovating gunite pools. The experienced team can handle everything from your standard renovation of replacing your coping, tile and plaster finish, to adding features such as raised water features, sun decks, and even spas that were not originally built with the pool. McCool says, “Even though your pool may not have originally been built with the more current popular features doesn’t mean that Swim-Mor cannot add them now.”
The 2026 pool season is already underway for the business, which thanks to the mild winter meant they were able to start construction early. Pool openings and service will ramp up from mid-April to Memorial Day.
But, for those looking to add a pool to their backyard this summer, it’s not too late. “We’re still building for this year. We’re still selling for this summer,” McCool says. “But don’t waste time. Get in!”

Kristen Dowd profile

For almost 50 years, Brindisi Builders has been offering quality, beautiful residential and commercial renovations to its South Jersey customers, understanding that also building a strong reputation goes a long way.
Build like a big company. Run like a family.
This is how Quinn Harbright describes Brindisi Builders, a storied full-service home renovation company that has been serving South Jersey and the greater Philadelphia region for nearly half a century.
“With us, customers get the benefits of a large scale operation, but if you visit our office, everyone for the most part is family. We have 20 in-house employees, but we’re capable of large-scale work,” explains Harbright, who serves as vice president of remodeling and design.
That work spans commercial to residential, from renovations in a high-rise to changing out a bungalow’s front door—and everything in between. With more than 30,000 remodeling jobs under its belt, Brindisi Builders boasts a portfolio of extensive custom kitchen remodels, luxury bath transformations, additions and complete remodels, such as adding an entire second floor to a home. The company has built its reputation on accommodating all customers and all projects, which has helped establish them as a premier renovation company in the region.
“We handle all types of renovation projects,” Harbright says, adding they’re happy to work with customers with clear design visions and those who know they want something fresh, but may be unsure of the details.
Building for generations
There is longevity among Brindisi customers— not just through a single lifetime, but for generations.
“There are a lot of people that we did
work for that now 20 or 30 years later, we’re doing work for their kids,” Harbright explains. “That goes to show how important customer service is to us.”
Harbright estimates about 75% of Brindisi jobs come from either repeat business or referrals. This is a compliment, of course, but also indicative of the atmosphere the Brindisi team builds alongside new kitchens and baths.
“The better you’re treating people on site the more likely you’re going to get referrals in the future. It makes for a better work environment as well,” Harbright says.
The longtime experience also means Brindisi Builders has seen trends come and go— and come back again—when it comes to home renovations.
“It’s the circle of life. I’m watching things come back that we’ve gotten rid of,” says Mike Brindisi, founder and president. “It’s amazing.”
Following the trends
White, blue and gray cabinetry has run its course, according to Harbright.
“People are moving back toward warmer tones, slightly off-whites. Linen-colored whites. Chocolatey-colored browns,” he says.
Custom colors are also popular, which is no problem for Brindisi Builders. “With our cabinet company, if somebody wants to paint a cabinet, we can do anything you can get at a paint store,” Harbright says.
Wood is coming back in fashion, too, although Harbright says it hasn’t gained full steam yet. Wood accents in cabinets are pop-

ular, and wood is also being used to offset an island or bar. Mochas, espresso and browns are the wood colors growing in popularity.
“The turnover to going to stained wood cabinets will come quicker than getting back into the warm tones,” Harbright says. “I don’t think we’ll go back to reddish-toned stains; it will be based in browns.”
Apron-front sinks—like a hybrid farm/undermount sink—are still a popular choice in kitchens, where Harbright estimates about half of their customers are opting for the design. Islands remain popular, too, whereas peninsulas are typically only being chosen when it works best from a functional standpoint.
In bathrooms, a lot of customers are still opting for simple modern designs, which have been popular for the past decade, but Harbright is also seeing tile backsplashes getting more ornate as time goes on, such as herringbone, basket weaves and mosaic.
According to Brindisi, bathroom cabinetry is “still mixed” with painted cabinets and wood stain, and bathroom fixtures are staying away from chrome.
“The biggest colors are your brushed nickel, oiled and rubbed bronze, and black,” he says.
Working with Brindisi Builders is as easy as picking up the phone. A member of the Brindisi team will then meet with the client for a free estimate, during which they establish the client’s wants, needs, concerns and budget, and then build a project that fits within those parameters. And once the proposal is accepted and contracts signed, customers can rest assured Brindisi will deliver quality work and care from the first day on the job.
“We’re family owned. Our employees have been with us a minimum of 20 years,” says Brindisi. “Our attention to detail sets us apart, and most of our work is handled in house.”

the product used by New Castle Artisan is that it’s naturally textured to be slip resistant, making it an ideal choice for pool decks.

New Castle Artisan transforms aging concrete into beautiful surfaces that will last.
ost home improvement projects come with their share of hassles, from permitting to disrupting daily routines and creating additional unforeseen projects. For this reason, homeowners often put them off. However, New Castle Artisan has a better way.
Family-owned and-operated for more than 30 years, New Castle Artisan is helmed by Gwen Kunkel and her brother Paul Randall, who have a combined 50 years of experience in the industry. Its sole business is concrete resurfacing, a technique that can breathe new life into many concrete surfaces, whether it’s your driveway, pool deck or patio. With summer on its way, now is the perfect time to have New Castle Artisan assess your needs with a free inspection and estimate.
Concrete projects can be invasive on a property, and pouring new concrete doesn’t guarantee the same problems won’t occur down the line. “Instead of the usual repairs made to cracks, tripping hazards and other issues, our resurfacing allows us to hide all of the repairs in a beautiful, custom upgrade,” Kunkel says. “You avoid all the hassle and mess of the demolition and repouring. With
resurfacing, we add designs and carve the cracks into the existing pattern after we repair them, so you’ve got results that are more valuable financially and aesthetically.”
Projects typically take three days to complete and don’t require township permits— another headache avoided. Kunkel also says one day of bad weather won’t set the project back either. “Each day is independent of each other, so if it rains one day, we extend the project one day. We don’t need three consecutive sunny days.”
Polymer resurfacing has been used since the 1960s, and if applied properly, adds beauty and aesthetic value without the expensive cost of installing all new concrete. What’s more, it will last a lifetime with some routine resealing maintenance. “We use polymer cements because they resist erosion. They are absorbed into the existing concrete, grow spines that expand, creating a new cement surface that is incredibly durable, as well as stain and chemical resistant,” says Kunkel.
Resurfacing a pool deck also comes with significant cost savings. “Pool decks, as they age, can have movement, creating cracks and unlevel pads. The heavy equipment required to bring new concrete into a backyard is labor intensive, which makes the cost higher,” she says. “On top of that, your landscaping and grass are damaged, your fence has to be taken down—our process is no mess. We use small pieces of hand equipment that can be carried in and out, causing no impact to your landscaping.”

There is also a level of artistry with New Castle Artisan’s resurfacing. “Our products are applied by hand for a look that can be customized your liking. We can add colors and then finish with rock hard sealants to make it look appealing,” says Kunkel. “We utilize design to incorporate the repaired cracks into a pattern that can be managed. Should cracks reappear, they are blended within the design. If you try to repair other products, like pavers, you’ll never be able to match the color after five years. ...We’ve perfected this method, not only providing quality installation, but an investment that can always be remedied or managed.”

We spoke get a sense of some of the more popular ways homeowners can give their exterior a much-needed boost. One key place to start is with your garage doors.

Fadi Baaklini, owner of ProLift Garage Doors, points out that upgrading your garage doors can have an almost 100% return on investment, and is considered one of the top ways to increase a home’s value for under $10,000.
Following this harsh winter we have experienced in our area, some homeowners may want to consider adding insulated garage doors, but Baaklini advises against that expense unless you already have a heated garage or find yourself spending large amounts of time in the space year-round.
Though the garage has become the predominant entry way into the home, that does not mean homeowners are not looking for a

more informed decisions regarding choosing the best designs to complement the architecture.

One of the more popular entry door systems today comes from ProVia, a company known for its quality craftmanship in value, or just curb appeal in general, but also offers highly rated security and privacy with different privacy glasses,” says Jammer.

popular ways to boost curb appeal include a sensibly redesigned porch and the addition of a portico, but adds that upgraded siding can truly transform the look of your home’s exterior and create intrigue about the rest of the house.
“I am going to say that it can just completely change [the look of] your house. Your house kind of speaks for who is living in it and it really can make a huge difference,” he says.
Adam Parnes, vice president of marketing at Global Home Improvement, also notes that difference new siding can have on a home’s exte-
rior. But while the familiarity of vinyl siding makes it the preferred choice for many, Parnes instead suggests fiber cement siding from James Hardie, due to its durability, the rich colors available and the realistic wood-grain texture it offers.
What’s more, Parnes notes how new gutters, specifically the black gutters that are trending, can also refresh the look of your exterior.
“From an appearance standpoint, black gutters have become extremely popular because they give the home a clean, modern look and really frame the roofline, especially on lighter-colored exteriors. They also blend beautifully with darker roofs and trim, so they don’t stand out in a bad way,” he says.
For the performance aspect, Parnes says that halfround gutters allow water to flow more efficiently, reducing buildup and clogging

less over time.
When it comes to outdoor lighting and its impact on the exterior appearance of a home, Tim Teed of Vesta Lights expresses the importance of creating a safe environment while choosing lighting methods that heighten the home’s features without going overboard.
“You are not trying to light up the house like a hotel, you are trying to use accent lighting to complement the architectural house. It’s more for the appearance aspect of it, as well as considering the safety and the security, especially, if it’s a real dark neighborhood,” says Teed.
No matter which exterior project you choose to tackle first, these improvements help to beautify your home while also adding value, creating an inviting environment that will be enjoyed by family and friends for many more years to come.
