ABOUT HOST HOST is a digital technology super hub operated by IN4 Group based in MediaCity Salford, that provides a unique environment for businesses to learn, grow and succeed. With almost a decade of experience, HOST is already one of the most established innovation hubs in the country. HOST combines skills bootcamps, innovation services and start up incubation programmes under one roof, with people, place and culture driving everything we do. HOST 50 WEEKLY RHYTHM Over 2-4 hours per week, you will further your business through a community of entrepreneurs, benefitting from mentorship and supporting personal development. During HOST 50, you will be expected to take part in the weekly schedule outlined here:

HOW TO PREPARE FOR HOST 50 1 Set up your MyHOST account (details included in this pack) and set up your profile

6 Review the HOST 50 participation agreement ahead of the first check-in session of the programme. This is a simple document (in this pack and on MyHOST) that will outline the rules and expectations of you, as a participating business, and any repercussions / disciplinary outcomes of displaying negative behaviours such as counterproductive, abusive and criminal

2 Complete the onboarding form shared with you by the HOST team – the more information you can provide, the better! We will be using this data to personalise the programme and to help us find the best mentors and partners

HOST 50 CODE OF CONDUCT At HOST, we strive to foster an inclusive environment where everyone feels comfortable and able to achieve. As a result, we expect behaviours outlined below to not pose an issue, nevertheless we want to explicitly mention these to ensure that we have a shared understanding of unacceptable behaviour. If on any occasion you are made to feel uncomfortable however big or small it may seem - you are always encouraged to inform our team. HOST is dedicated to creating an inclusive environment for everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, colour, national origin, age, disability (physical or mental), genetic information (including pregnancy and sexual orientation involving transgender status/gender identity, and sex-stereotyping), parental status, marital status, and political affiliation as well as gender expression, mental illness, socioeconomic

status or background, neuro(a)typicality, physical appearance, body size, computing experience, or clothing. Consider that calling attention to differences can feel alienating. We do not tolerate discrimination or harassment in any form. Discrimination is unfairly treating a person or group of people differently from other people. Harassment is unwanted and unwelcome words, deeds, actions, gestures, or behaviours that make someone feel uncomfortable. Harassment does not need to be recognized as unwanted or unwelcome by anyone other than the person being harassed. Likewise, sexual harassment does not need to be motivated by sexual desire to violate this policy. Be careful in the words that you choose. Remember that sexist, racist, and other exclusionary jokes can be offensive to those around you. Offensive jokes are not appropriate and will not be tolerated under any circumstance.

Enforcement Should your behaviour be deemed as unwelcome or harassing, immediate compliance as per this Code of Conduct is required. If a cohort member engages in harassing or exclusionary behaviour, we will take action to ensure HOST 50 is a welcoming environment for everyone. Any cohort member violating these rules can be removed from the programme.

We expect cohort members to follow these rules in the virtual spaces we conduct the programme in addition to when physically attending sessions at HOST Salford and at all programme venues. We, of course, recommend people to follow these rules outside programme activities too. Reporting If someone makes you or anyone else feel unsafe or unwelcome, please report it as soon as possible. There is no issue too small to report. Harassment and other Code of Conduct violations reduce the value of HOST 50 for everyone. We want you to be happy here.

Break-off clause The combined programme value of the HOST 50 experience is a considerable investment. Should you know of any reason at this time you will be unable to complete this programme, you are obligated to let a member of the HOST team know. This could include but is not limited to: outstanding jobs, an outstanding application to university, training or higher education facility with a September start date, or significant planned break during the programme delivery timeline.world.

MEMBERSHIPS

What does my membership include? All HOST members will benefit from a dedicated HOST team member, who will help you understand what you need and how you can maximise the benefits of your membership. This will be supported through regular weekly catch-ups between you and your support team member. Currently, you are on the Premium Club Membership package. If you wish to discuss your membership options further after joining, please do get in touch with the HOST team.

HOST offers various options to become part of our community, with our memberships tailored to the specific needs of individual founders and innovators. Fully-funded members of HOST 50 are entitled to a Premium Club Membership at HOST for three months. This membership is perfect for growing teams working remotely that are yet to reach the need for a dedicated office. WORKING FROM HOST As a HOST 50 Member and Premium Club Member, you can work from HOST Space - our co-working space on the 6th floor, taking full advantage of embedding yourself within our innovative and inclusive community. You can also use our events space on the 7th floor which is called HOST Social. At HOST Social, you can meet with partners and clients or rent rooms for events and presentations. HOST reserves the right to charge £10 for the replacement of lost cards. Lost or stolen cards should be reported to HOST at the earliest opportunity, otherwise, the security of the building is compromised. Access for Premium Club Members is within business hours for our co-working floor, and therefore between 8:00 am – 6:00 pm.

NAVIGATING MYHOST All programme related events will be shared via the MyHOST App/website. To access the links to the HOST 50 events -Launch Event, Workshops and Masterclasses- you will need to sign into MyHOST, select Community, and select ‘HOST 50 – Virtual Sessions’ within Courses. Please ensure you do this via your browser, rather than the app version. This will look like the below:

You will find the overall schedule on the discussion board for HOST 50, so you can keep up to date with what is coming up! If you are unable to attend any of the events, you must inform a member of the HOST 50 team. Catch up by watching the post-session recordings, which will be uploaded to MyHOST after the event. Sometimes events, workshops, and opportunities crop up that are unscheduled. We will do our best to notify you of these events as far in advance as possible! On the MyHOST site, you will also have access to all HOST-wide events. Check out Events on the Website/ App to see what else you can benefit from!

From there, you will need to click on ‘Access Course’ and then click on the relevant week and event to find the Zoom joining detail, recommended reading, learning objectives and speaker bios.

PROGRAMME AND MEMBERSHIP FAQS Is WiFi included in my membership? Yes! WiFi is included in your membership package. On your first day, you and your team members will be given access.

What times can I access the workspace? HOST Salford is open 8am till 6pm for all Club Members and Premium Club Members. For those with dedicated office space, you can access your space 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Do we get access to Innovation and Business Growth events? Yes! This is bookable via the MyHOST app (subject to availability).

Can guests visit? Yes! Guests may visit the Property for pre-arranged meetings. Additional Day Passes must be purchased by any guests that wish to use the Co-Creation space facilities, other than for pre-arranged meetings.

How do I book a desk? You can easily book a desk through the MyHOST App. Alternatively, you can book directly through Danielle Brown.

Where can I park? There are a number of parking options near to HOST Salford. The closest is The Garage, MediaCity UK, Salford, M50 2TG Please click here for more details on parking, tariffs and opening hours.

Am I responsible for cleaning? No, the licensor will clean the property. However, we do operate a ‘clean desk’ policy.

How much does the programme cost? The programme is fully funded, and therefore provided at no cost to programme participants. In order to support your business, HOST is working with the Business Growth Hub, where the Business Growth Hub works with local, national and European partners, so that wherever possible, they’re able to offer support that is fully-funded and can be provided at no direct cost to your business. Their funding is provided through a range of organisations and programmes, including the European Union Regional Development Fund (ERDF). You will, however, be expected to invest your own time and effort if you’re to benefit from the help available. Our support is publicly-funded and State Aid rules apply, where we operate under the De Minimis scheme and should you receive support, your advisor will explain the State Aid considerations. To be able to qualify for funding your business must be based in the UK, have less than 250 FTE employees, have a turnover of less than £43m or a Balance Sheet less than £37m, and have a registered business address in Greater Manchester (to note: this programme comes with the ability to register your business at HOST).

Does the programme take equity?

Does the programme make an investment?

No.

Can HOST sign an NDA/confidentiality agreement? No. We do not sign NDAs in order to receive or review applications. This is a common misconception for founders new to the startup world that their idea is the most valuable part and must not be shared. The reality is most ideas have been thought of before and execution is everything. You will limit yourself greatly if you require NDAs prior to discussing your ideas as most investors, fellow founders, educational providers, and the like will not sign them.

Can my co-founder attend sessions? Of course! Workshops are a great opportunity to include your cofounder, however we would advise that peer mentoring sessions are best attended by yourself.

Where does HOST 50 take place? HOST 50 will be delivered through both remote/online sessions and in-person sessions at HOST. Participants should expect to be in-person at HOST approximately 2 – 3 times over the course of the programme, though are able to visit much more frequently to make sure of their passes.

How do my six day passes to HOST work? Can I buy more? Your six day passes are per business, where if you want to work from HOST with a co-founder or colleague for a day this would require two passes. If you want more you are able to purchase them via the MyHOST App!

What is included with acceptance to the HOST 50 programme? Those accepted onto HOST 50 and eligible for ERDF funding will benefit from not only the programme, but three months worth of fully-funded Premium Club Membership to HOST. This membership includes 6 day passes per month to HOST for up to two members of your team, complimentary fair-use of the 6th floor meeting rooms, HOST Social business lounge membership, access to HOST’s Innovation & Business Growth events, and a 20% discount on HOST Labs services and facilities; HOST Social venue hire; IN4.0 Talent services; and additional day passes. This membership also allows you to use HOST as your registered business address and mailing address.

When does HOST 50 take place? HOST 50 will run between August 16th until November 5th, with your membership taking place between these 12 weeks
