2024 ANNUAL REPORT

Seiaka Touray Seiaka’s pursuit of a career in healthcare is best described as a journey of resilience and determination. When he was a high school freshman, a lifealtering accident put a sudden pause on Seiaka’s education. However, after meeting the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) assigned to his surgery, he identity a new career pathway as a CRNA. Seiaka earned his GED® and began his educational journey. While pursuing an associate’s degree in Dietetics & Nutrition Science at CUNY’s Bronx Community College, Seiaka enrolled in Hostos CEWD’s Patient Care Technician (PCT) Certificate Program. He completed it in Spring 2023. Soon after, he was hired as a Patient Care Associate (PCA).

Seiaka also credits the PCT program with preparing him for his nursing coursework. “It’s a great way to get exposure to the basics because the degree is very, very challenging.” He is currently pursuing an Associate’s Degree in Nursing at St. Paul’s School of Nursing and anticipates graduating in Summer 2025. Seiaka remains focused on his long-term career goal—becoming a CRNA.
