Diagnosis: Ulnar Subluxation of Extensor Tendons due to Rheumatoid Arthritis Ulnar subluxation of the extensor tendons of the fingers at the level of the MCP joints results in ulnar deviation and flexion of the affected fingers. This is caused by insufficiency of the radial sagittal band, as can occur in the setting of rheumatoid arthritis or trauma. Surgical centralization of the extensor tendon can correct alignment. Ultrasound is helpful pre-operatively to confirm presence of tendon subluxation as well as absence of tendon rupture.
