The Toscana® breeding program
In breeding, we focus on plant quality, easy cultivation, outdoor performance and of course a beautiful palette of flower colours.
Breeding is a long process which requires dedication, expertise and eye for detail from our breeders. Our breeding program offers added value right along the chain, from grower to consumer. Drawing on feedback from growers and a continuous innovation process, we strive to further improve the quality of the different varieties and to expand the Toscana® series.
In the Galaxy series we have updated the Red and introduced a Violet. It is good to see that this relatively new Galaxy series is more and more appreciated for its specific voluminous habits.
Another highlight is the new Smart Pink Splash which will accompany the succesfull Smart White Splash. The new introduced Smart Maureen is a better fitting, more compact Smart Light Pink. The original Smart Light Pink will be available in the "specials" as Scandinavia has a special relation with this specific colour and planttype. Evita is replacing the brittle Eva in the Sunflair series. This was already on the whishlist for a while.
For the coming years we hope to benefit from our mutual USA breeding program as we see some interesting developments there. I will keep you updated!

About the Toscana® production
Toscana® is available as unrooted cuttings (URC) and as young plants. At our production locations in Ethiopia and Kenya we specialize in the URC production of Pelargonium. With a total of 37 hectares of well-equipped greenhouses, which are run by qualified and experienced staff, we supply from both locations a high production standard. This gives you the best quality against the lowest risk in supply change. Moreover, we think and act sustainably. Our production locations are MPS-A certified (Environmental Programme for Ornamental Horticulture), covering crop protection products, fertilisers, energy, water and waste. Neonicotinoids are banned and to combat the negative effects of crop protection products, we use organic variants and work with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) wherever possible.
