14th Annual Production Sale on Sunday

February 1, 2026

2pm CST at the Ranch Hurdsfield, ND . .

Greetings, and welcome to our 14th Annual Production Sale!

As I write this I am going through last year’s welcome letter and the first sentence that stands out is regarding the optimism in the industry and how great of a time it is to be in the beef industry. Fast forward a year and wow, its even better. Record setting feeder cattle, fat cattle, and bred cattle prices continue to elevate into 2026. Can we say the same thing a year from now? I sure hope so. For now, though, all I can think to say to everyone that has stuck it out in this industry is congratulations and you deserve it. It’s great to see the hard work of everyone in the industry, especially those that calve out cows being rewarded for their hard work.

Every year seems to go by faster and 2025 followed suit. It was a great year. Ample moisture consistently throughout the growing season gave us great crops and large quantities of hay and grass. Haying season was long and strung out due to the moisture but that’s a problem we can live with. We grazed cattle longer into the fall than we ever have utilizing thick cover crops into mid-December, and so far, have yet to push snow this winter. Any time that occurs well into January, winter is just that much shorter and easier to deal with.

The kids continue to be active. Eddy is still enjoying baseball and his 12U team finished 4th in the ND state 12U tournament in July. He continues to mature into a pretty savvy outdoorsman. This past summer he really honed in his fishing skills and impresses me that he always takes the time to teach his sister everything he knows and is always helping her out taking fish off or baiting the hook. His highlight of the fall was for sure harvesting his very first buck and with his bow on top of it. It was his first time going by himself and he made a great shot, and everyone was sure proud. He is proving to be more and more valuable around the ranch. Running haying equipment, feeding with the loader tractor, and working with the cattle. He is a big help. Emersyn is enjoying baseball as well and his 10U team had a great season finishing with a 14-4 record. Although he likes baseball, football season can never come soon enough. At such a young age it’s sure fun to watch him excel in the sport. He always has football on the brain, doesn’t go anywhere without a ball, and is usually scratching plays on paper or clipboards. His 5&6 grade little stingers team made it to the championship game this past October. He was able to harvest his first deer ever with a bow also, just 3 days prior to his birthday, which made for an exciting week for him. His skills in the tractor and baler shined this summer as he and his brother raked and baled a fair number of acres on their own. Landri enjoyed another softball season playing all positions but has her heart set on being a catcher. Her strength so far is at the plate with a bat in her hands. It will be fun to see her grow in the sport. She enjoys all time spent with her brothers and enjoys the outdoors as well. It’s no surprise that she out fishes all of us at times, especially in the ice house. She is anxiously waiting for her chance to deer hunt like her brothers. She is a joy to have around the ranch and is always up for helping whenever dad asks.

The 2026 bull offering is the most consistent offering we have assembled from top to bottom. Highlighted by an exceptional group of red bulls sired by Crossroad Engage 125K. I really can’t say enough good things about him and his sire group really rises to the top. I’d love to make a pen of homo black bulls that look like his red calves. The black division is highlighted by several sons from our 937E donor cow. She has been a huge success around here, as she has pioneered our embryo program. She is responsible for last year’s $35,000 high seller KLSR Black Smoke M1 to Mandan Lake Simmentals of Center, ND. Several of her daughter’s are starting to come into production and the future looks bright for them. 3 full brothers to Smoke, 3 sons by M4 Alpha 267K, and a red son by SVS Rancher 42H will be her representation in this year’s sale. The Crossroad Stride 149H sire group will round out the red bulls, and this will be his last group of calves to sell as he is no longer with us. We have been fortunate to walk to special red herd bulls in Stride and Engage and we are excited to present the red bulls to the public. The black division is made up of sons from LCDR Endgame 236L, MRL Let’s Ride 54L, RVR Revolution 541K, and a couple special calves by QB Special Ops K11.

The female offering will consist of 10 open heifer calves picked from the heart of our replacement pen. We initially planned not to sell any heifer calves this year with the intention of transitioning to selling registered bred heifers. We made a last-minute decision to sell 10 and they are hard to part with as they are the type that would never leave the ranch. The commercial bred heifers will consist of 2 elite groups of red heifers from two great KLSR customers that will be a sale feature.

With that said we would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to our customers and friends that have made it possible to put #14 on the front page of this catalog. We truly sell bulls to and work with the best people in the industry and feel very lucky to contribute genetics to some of the best feeder cattle in the country that come out of North Dakota and surrounding areas. You all truly deserve the great times we are currently in and we are proud to be a part of it with you. Thank you in advance for attending or watching the sale online.

The first calf born in 2025. Short gestation. Dam is a fantastic uddered, solid black Walk the Line daughter. Grandam is a great producing 56U daughter that was purchased from the Spring Creek dispersion in Canada. Her heifer calf this year is one of the stoutest in the replacement pen and is for sure a favorite. Calving ease and maternal pedigree here. End Game was mated to every registered heifer and had zero issues calving. He has been a great breeding bull and semen producer as well.

This guy has been a standout since birth. By September there wasn’t much difference in size when he was nursing next to his Iron Man mom. She definitely did a great job for her first calf and bred up early as well. Grandam has been around for a long time and has raised some good ones over the years. Excellent cow family, calving ease, and performance pedigree. He does have two short white ankles on his hind legs that may not be visible in his video.

Well, I could write the same footnotes for most of the Engage calves. He is without a doubt the best red bull that’s ever walked here. N19 shows off all the traits Engage passes on to his progeny so consistently. His dam, E715 has been cranking out herd bulls her entire career and her calves have all found themselves at the top of the sale. Her two daughters have been exceptional as well. We flushed one as a first calver and she gave 8 embryos that are expected in February, and the other is G997 who is the dam of the N20 bull calf you’ll read about next. Another Standout Engage calf. I measured his scrotal circumference in November when he was in the clipping chute at 38.5cm. Early maturing and large scrotal size is also another trait that Engage passes on so well. G997 is an outstanding cow that also raised our high selling bull in our 2022 sale.

One of 3 stand out E.T. brothers by M4 Alpha 267K and our 937E donor. Alpha and 937E really clicked. We put in 8 embryos and got 6 calves. A full sister sold in the ND State Classic Sale, we will retain a full sister, and N73 & N77 are full brothers in the sale. Unfortunately, one of the brothers got hurt shortly after weaning. 937E has been a great addition and has produced 25 calves in her short time here since purchasing her from Spring Creek’s dispersion. Her biggest accolade, KLSR Smoke M1, was the high seller from last years sale to Mandan Lake Simmentals. There are also 3 full brothers to Smoke in this years sale: N67, N69, N86

He has already made friends as he was commonly shared on Snapchat all summer and will be easily found on sale day.

We are incredibly thankful for your trust and support of our program, genetics and family. There is no greater reward to hear customer feedback and how our genetics are helping them advance their operations and achieving their genetic goals. Without your support, we wouldn’t be in business.

Here at Kline Simmental Ranch, we have prided ourselves over the years on producing performance and growth, and the hardiness, fertility, and maternal strengths that sets Simmental cattle apart from other breeds. To achieve this, it all starts with the cow.

We invite you to tour through our cowherd during the year to see these cows at work, doing their job.

Thank you for taking the time to view this year’s offering, attending the sale or watching online.
