Iamsoproudtobepartof theHopeAgainstCancer teamcelebrating20years ofincredibleachievements.

Toseefirst-handtheimpactour charityhashad,andcontinuesto have,onsomanylivesisthe reasonweallkeepgoinginthe fightagainstcancer–wedothe fightingsothatourpatientscan domoreliving.

Leicester’sworldclassHopeCancer TrialsCentrehas hostedover 30,000patient attendances

Wehavehelped manynewcancer treatmentscome intouseandhave helpednurturea newgenerationof specialists

NOWWE’REPLEDGINGTODOMORE

TheTrusteesandBoardofHopeAgainstCancerhave markedthecharity’s20thanniversarywithacommitmenttodonateaminimumof£1mforfurtherresearch andtreatmentprojectsoverthenextfiveyears.

Ourcommitmenttoprovidea minimumof£1minadditional fundingforlocalresearchover thenextfiveyearssignalsthat we’redeterminedtocarryonthis work.Wearealsousing2023asa springboardtogetbothmore localbusinessesandthepublic involvedinsupportingand celebratingthecharity throughout2023andbeyond Keytothiswillberaising awarenessofHOPEandthe pioneeringworkwesupport.As partofthis,willseetheteam encouragingparticipationinthe “20in23Challenge”,kickingoff withthe“TrailofHopeWeekend” onthe9th–11thJune2023.We hopeyou,ourwonderfulHope ThroughBusinessclub members,willgetactively involvedandhelpusspreadthe word.

HavingbeeninstrumentalinmakingLeicestera centreforexcellenceincancerresearchand developingthenextgenerationofclinicalresearchers, ProfessorThomasisespeciallyproudoftherecent fundingawardforLeicester’sBiomedicalResearch Centre(BRC)-whichsheassuresuswouldnothave happenedwithoutHopeAgainstCancer.

ProfessorThomasisseenherereceivingaspecial ResearchDirector’sAward,recognisingherlife’swork andtirelessdedication.

Howwe’vebeen treblingyourmoney

Whilewe’resoproudtohave raisedandinvestedaround£8min localresearchandtreatment… …perhapsweshouldmakemore ofthefactthatthe‘pumppriming’ rolethatourinvestmentplays oftengoesontoattractsignificant institutionalfundingastheprojects progress:andweestimatethat,in ourtime,we’vehelpedattractover £24mfromgovernmentand businessintothefightagainst cancer!
