You may have heard a lot about Hope Capital Property Finance over the last few months, and that is for good reason. After a record-breaking 2025, it would have been easy to sit back and reflect, but that is not who we are. Our team entered 2026 more motivated than ever, determined to take what we have built in 2025 and push it even further.

This edition of HOPE Full gives us the perfect opportunity to look back on some of the achievements, accolades and decisions that brought us to where we are today, from the monumental enhancement of our senior leadership structure and industry recognition to the incredible people who made it all possible.

We were humbled to be the main sponsor of the James Bulger Memorial Trust Black Tie and Tiara Ball back in March, and it is a privilege to continue supporting Denise and Stuart Fergus in their incredible work. This quarter marked a truly historic moment for Hope Capital Property Finance. We were incredibly proud to announce significant enhancements to our leadership structure.

The first change saw Kate Cowan transition from Chief Financial Officer to Chief Financial and Operating Officer, and the second saw all of our former Heads of Department elevated to directorlevel roles, recognising the extraordinary talent, dedication and impact they have brought to our business every single day. These six leaders have nearly four decades of combined experience at Hope Capital Property Finance, and it is their collective drive, expertise and collaboration that has continued to take this business from strength to strength.

Kate Cowan Chief Financial and Operating Officer

Kate joined Hope Capital Property Finance in 2019 as Finance Director and played a pivotal role in shaping our strategic direction alongside Jonathan Sealey. Under her leadership, the loan book grew by 61% in 2025, new institutional funding was secured, and a series of market-leading products were launched.

Kate was recognised as a Mortgage Introducer Elite Woman for four consecutive years, from 2023 to 2026.

Jemma Wood Director of Portfolio, Asset and Risk

Since joining in 2019, Jemma has transformed the way we manage our portfolio, delivering a relationship-led approach that benefits borrowers while producing outstanding results for the business. Under her leadership, further advances were up by 147% and defaults were reduced by 5.5%.

Jemma was also recognised in the Bridging and Commercial Power List in 2023.

Sarah Butler Director of Brand, Communications and Engagement

Sarah joined the business in 2022 and since then has led our full rebrand, grown our LinkedIn following by 81%, delivered our industry-first ESG report and produced 10 editions of this very magazine. Her work continues to raise the profile of Hope Capital Property Finance across the industry and has embedded the values that define our business today.

Sarah was recognised as a Mortgage Introducer Elite Woman in 2024.

Kim Parker Director of Lending Operations and Commercial Strategy

Kim joined the sales team in 2022 and rose from Sales Team Manager to Head of Sales before her promotion to director level. She has doubled the size of the sales team, boosted applications by 17.5% and transformed the department’s diversity from all-male to 50% women sales specialists.

Kim was named a Mortgage Introducer Elite Woman in 2025.

Laura Carr Director of Underwriting, Compliance and Stakeholder Relations

Laura joined in 2014 in a part-time Underwriting Assistant role covering maternity leave and, through over a decade of dedication and outstanding leadership, rose to director level. She has expanded the underwriting team by 44%, doubled our industry-standard funding conversion rate and strengthened stakeholder engagement across the UK.

Laura was recognised in the Bridging and Commercial Power List in both 2023 and 2026.

Stephanie Kinsella Director of People and Technology

Since joining in 2022, Steph has transformed both our people strategy and our technological capabilities. Under her leadership, headcount has grown by 76%, 82% of senior management roles are held by women and 94% of the team have said that Hope Capital Property Finance is a great place to work, earning our Great Place to Work Certification. Steph has also introduced the Living Wage commitment, myHOPE and two new digital systems that have streamlined our operations.

We’re incredibly proud of Dual+, which we launched last quarter in direct response to the needs of the market. It was clear that brokers and borrowers were looking for greater certainty, faster decision-making and a smoother path to completion on time-critical residential deals.

A key part of delivering this is our dedicated packaging team, made up of Relationship Manager Chris Grierson, and Sales Specialists Leanne Stafford and Alicia Alty. Together, they work from the moment an enquiry is received to package each deal quickly

and accurately, helping to maintain momentum and give brokers confidence from the outset.

Since launching our Star of Hope recognition scheme back in 2021, we have proudly celebrated more than 24 outstanding winners. In true Hope Capital Property Finance style, we kicked off the year by recognising another exceptional team member with our latest quarterly award.

We’re delighted to announce that Leanne Stafford has been named our 2026 Q1 Star of Hope Winner as part of our quarterly values recognition scheme – celebrating colleagues who consistently demonstrate and embody our core values.

Leanne has hit the ground running after only being with us for a short time. Her attention to detail and customer service skills are incredible, and she is always willing to help out and take ownership of any task. A real team player!

Celebrating 3 Years of Laurel A milestone worth marking

This quarter we were delighted to celebrate a brilliant milestone with Laurel Livesey, who marked three years at Hope Capital Property Finance.

Laurel joined us as an Underwriter, bringing a wealth of experience in bridging finance, and it was clear from the very start just how much she would contribute to the team. In her first year alone, she was awarded the SLT’s Choice Star of Hope, a recognition that spoke volumes about the impression she made from day one.

After just 12 months, Laurel stepped up into a Senior Underwriting CoOrdinator role, and has continued to go from strength to strength, most recently playing an integral role in the development of our single-source commercial intelligence platform.

Three years in, Laurel’s contribution to Hope Capital Property Finance is as strong as ever, and we could not be prouder to have her as part of the team.

We were thrilled to find out that two members of the Hope Capital Property Finance team were shortlisted at the Bridging and Commercial Awards 2026, one of the most prestigious events in our calendar.

Andrew Bate Senior Underwriter

Andrew has been shortlisted for Underwriter of the Year, a nomination that came as no surprise to anyone who has worked alongside him.

Having already been recognised in the Financial Reporter 30 Under 30 list in 2025, Andrew has continued to demonstrate exactly why he is regarded as one of the most promising underwriters in the industry. His ability to navigate complex deals with both speed and precision is something our brokers and borrowers have experienced firsthand, and it is fantastic to see that talent acknowledged yet again.

David has been shortlisted for Lender Relationship Manager of the Year, a recognition that reflects the reputation he has built across the industry over a number of years.

Those who have worked with David know exactly what he brings to every deal, a commercially minded approach and a commitment to the brokers and clients he supports. To see that recognised formally is a moment that we are very proud of.

We were thrilled to be finalists in the Small and Medium Organisation category at the Northern PoWEr Women Awards. The event, held in Manchester, brought together nearly 1,000 inspiring individuals, all with one goal: to celebrate achievements, uplift others, and champion the power of community. The evening was a vibrant reminder of the impact that collaboration and recognition can have in driving positive change.

Two brokers can approach the same scenario, with the same client and the same numbers, and achieve very different outcomes. The difference comes down to placement. And remember, it’s a contact sport.

The UK lending landscape has become more nuanced. Criteria is tighter, risk appetites vary more widely, and pricing is only one part of the decision. Lenders are looking more closely at the structure, sustainability, and overall strength of the opportunity.

At the same time, the opportunity for commercial finance brokers remains significant. While around £50bn of SME lending is facilitated across the UK each year, and £33bn is arranged by NACFB members, 87% of businesses have never used a commercial finance broker.

Despite this, the demand for funding is clear. 86% of growth-focused firms say they plan to invest, whether by expanding premises, purchasing equipment, or supporting wider business growth Many of these businesses remain unaware of the range of solutions available or the role a broker can play in accessing the right funding.

For commercial finance brokers, knowing who is active is no longer enough.

Understanding how lenders think, what they prioritise, and where an opportunity fits is what drives better outcomes.That is where networks become more important.

At their best, networks do not simply provide access to lenders. They create closer alignment between brokers and funding partners, giving brokers the insight, relationships and confidence to approach placement more effectively.

Over 12 intensive weeks, Sarah completed 12 indepth modules, engaged

in collaborative peer group sessions, and benefited from dedicated one-toone mentoring. With its strong focus on practical, actionable learning, the programme allowed her to start building a tailored Growth Action Plan from day one, turning insight into real impact.

NACFB Patron Membership

We are proud to announce that we have rejoined the NACFB Commercial Network as a patron

We are delighted to confirm that we rejoined the National Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (NACFB) as a patron after a short hiatus.

This decision follows our successful attendance at the NACFB Commercial Finance Expo in 2025, where we launched our Commercial Conversions Product, which was met with extremely positive feedback from brokers.

Grace Richmond and her partner James have welcomed a beautiful baby boy, Zachary RichmondLeek, weighing a healthy 9lbs 8oz. Grace recently held her last day in the office before heading off on maternity leave, and the team made sure to send her off in style with a surprise baby shower, complete with balloons, treats, and everyone’s favourite, pizza! It was a lovely way to come together and celebrate the next exciting chapter in Grace’s life.

Our team had some light-hearted Red Nose Day fun in the office, celebrating this year’s theme, “Take Yourself Funny for Money.”

Embracing their creative sides, team members drew fantastic self-portraits, which were then placed into a silent auction to raise funds for Red Nose Day.

Congratulations to everyone who placed a winning bid, your donations helped us raise vital funds, we can’t wait to see where your new pieces of art will find their home! It was a wonderful way to support a great cause while enjoying some fun and creativity together as a team.
