THANK YOU Happy Friday everyone and welcome back to the second half of the term. This week I would like to dedicate our headlines as a thank you to all our servicemen and women, both past and present, who have helped to shape and preserve the freedoms we too often take for granted. Few things have altered the course of history and shaped the modern world as much as the first World War. Armistice Day is a day that marks a significant part of our history and the progress we have made as the human race. I hope that you have been following our activities this week in the run up to Armistice Day and Sunday’s remembrance. Today we held our fourth annual Teachers vs C11 Learners Football match. The match is more than just an opportunity to provide a bit of C11 and teacher rivalry, it is an opportunity to galvanise our community as we reflect on the freedoms we are all afforded. As the opposing teams gather in the centre circle for the 2-minute silence, the rest of the school join in around the edge of the pitch. As always it makes for an intense and competitive game. As I write this we have not kicked off, however I am confident that the game will not be without its drama and, dare I say, some controversy - there is usually a penalty given that is questionable. A special thanks must go to: Staff Team Learner Team Jonny Williams Jonny Penrose Lucy Borella Chris Rusu Phillipe Bilby Max French Tom Gribben David Ojowa
