SITE ANALYSIS
Scaffolding, a ubiquitous presence in Rome, stands in stark contrast to the buildings. This juxtaposition inspired my project, symbolizing the ongoing preservation and restoration of history, as if the past is continually upheld and supported.

PERSPECTIVE SECTION

Situated above a subway station, the project is conceived as an extension of the urban fabric. It operates not only as a museum for cultural exploration but also as a multifunctional civic venue, accommodating events, gatherings, and everyday leisure for both residents and visitors.

Starting from the simplest intersection, the design explores possibilities of its extension, allowing the structure to become a vessel that embodies and generates space, rather than merely serving as a support system.

Through a design strategy of intersection, interconnected spaces are created, ultimately shaping a multifunctional co-housing residence. While enjoying their own private spaces, people also share access to a vibrant and dynamic public environment.

A food pantry can serve as a multifunctional hub, incorporating elements such as a bar or a lab, which both have the potential to become integral parts of the local community

The project adopts a linear narrative sequence. As visitors move through the building, they gradually enter a series of distinct functional spaces. This progression not only guides the flow of people across each zone but also fosters a deeper understanding of the resources required behind food production.

To address the issues of limited food variety and short expiration dates in most food pantries, this program aims to serve as a communication platform based on professional agricultural research and community engagement to garner greater social attention.

Break the large-scale community into flexible small-scale monomers to form a separable and composable ‘cellular’ group. Different functional spaces can be combined to derive a flexible plot layout.

Each unit is evenly distributed within a building area of 160 square meters and interconnected to create a large mixed-use rural community combining residential, commercial, and tourism functions, aimed at promoting national rural development initiatives.

The Hansemuseum Lübeck combines traditional brickwork with contemporary glass surfaces, striking a balance between historic craftsmanship and modern transparency. The textured masonry anchors the building in local heritage.

By combining traditional red brick façades with modern steel structures and glass curtain walls, the design reinterprets the use of architectural materials, blending elements of nature and humanity, tradition and modernity. This distinctive curtain wall also creates a unique play of light and shadow, filtering the intensity of natural sunlight.
