WHAT MAKES A FARMER
What makes a farmer? No doubt, some special characteristic that so few people these days embody. It takes a special kind of person to be a farmer, because who else would work long, tireless hours, to only see their success measured in how well they take care of others. A farmer’s selflessness inhabits every ounce of their body, from head to toe their whole being dedicates itself to the welfare of everyone else. In these ways a farmer is special and for these reasons they deserve our thanks. A farmer is intelligent, having extensive knowledge on all subjects pertaining to the field they harvest or the livestock they care for. A farmer is nurturing and kind, never wavering from their path of steadfast dedication to making crucial contributions to our nation’s economy and overall way of life. They are in a class of their own supplying food and fiber to the entire population without the expectation of even a simple thank you. A farmer starts their day before everyone else and ends it only when their work is done. Sun up, to sun down, they work vigorously to meet the needs of entire nations, often missing meals to put food on someone else’s table.
