Jennifer is from Trenton, MO (hometown Greensburg, KY) and has worked at NCMC for eleven years. She holds a master’s in counseling/rehabilitation counseling from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Jennifer describes her job as dynamic, ever-changing, and rewarding. When asked about her favorite thing about NCMC, Jennifer said, “The support and training I have received over the years from other staff and other instructors, particularly with the technology changes.” When Jennifer isn’t at work, she enjoys spending time at home, reading, painting landscapes, traveling, and hanging out with her cats. Founded in 1994, FRS is the philanthropic arm of NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association. The FRS Community Grants enable a broad range of community projects across rural America. To close out the Foundation’s 30 th anniversary year, the FRS Community Grant Program awarded 36 Community Grants totaling nearly $170,000. “GRM Networks is a strong supporter of the communities in which we operate,” said Mitchell Bailey, Chief Executive Officer of GRM Networks. “The collaboration between GRM Networks and FRS allows us to
expand our impact on the communities we serve. The FRS Community Grant Program supports projects in communities served by NTCA members such as GRM Networks. We appreciate the dedication and financial contributions of FRS,” said Bailey. “We are grateful and proud to have achieved a new record in our support for rural communities during this anniversary year,” said FRS Executive Director Pam Becker. “The work these organizations do in their communities is nothing short of inspiring, and it’s an honor to partner with NTCA members to help make these projects a reality. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the 30th anniversary of FRS than to award the largest ever number of grants to deserving organizations served by NTCA members. I would like to thank our donors for making this possible.”
Haley McNamar Selected as NCMC’S Outstanding Student Haley McNamar from Brashear, MO, has been selected as North Central Missouri College's Outstanding Student for November. Haley is a Missouri A+ scholarship online student pursuing her associate's degree in business management. She will graduate from NCMC in May of 2025 and then plans to enter the workforce. Haley said, “My shift from being on campus to being an online student has allowed me to be employed and work towards my degree through NCMC. I also like spending time with my family while continuing my education.” Haley’s favorite class has been accounting with Instructor Ronda Copple. Haley said, “Most people say you either love or hate accounting, and I have always enjoyed it. Mrs. Copple always made sure that all her students understood the material and assisted them in any way she could. I’m looking forward to Accounting II!”
Haley went on to say, “I chose North Central because of NCMC's location and environment. I was only about an hour away from home when I attended classes on campus. I also like the size of Trenton...I come from a very small town and school, and I enjoyed a smaller college campus, as well as everything being close and not all spread out like other campuses. My decision to attend NCMC has continued to be the best choice for me, and I would not want my college experience any other way. NCMC has helped me build confidence in myself to be prepared to enter the business world successfully.” Each month, a student is nominated by a faculty or staff member to be featured as an Outstanding Student based on their dedication to educational success, attitude toward learning, and hard work in their field and activities.
