The pursuit of happiness is not a spectator sport -By Harvey Mackay Long ago in a small village was a place known as the House of 1,000 Mirrors. A happy little dog learned of the house and decided to visit. When he arrived outside, he bounced up the front steps to the doorway of the house. He looked through the doorway with his ears perked high and his tail wagging as fast as it could. To his great surprise, he found himself staring at 1,000 other happy little dogs with their tails wagging just as fast as his. He smiled a great smile, and was answered with 1,000 great smiles just as warm and friendly. As he left the house, he thought to himself, “This is a wonderful place. I will come back and visit it often.” In the same village, another little dog, who was not quite as happy as the first one, decided to visit the house too. He slowly climbed the front steps and hung his head low as he looked in the doorway. When he saw 1,000 unfriendly looking dogs staring back at him, he growled, and was horrified to see 1,000 little dogs growling back at him. As he left, he thought to himself, “That is a horrible place. I will never go back there again.” Happiness is in the here and now, not in the somedays. Will you really be happier when the camper loan is paid off, the kids have made it through college, your spouse gets that promotion, or you buy that new car? Maybe momentarily, but that kind of happiness is fleeting. Only when you make a deposit into life will you reap the reward of life. And you will reap the quality of life in proportion to the

quality of what you plant. Psychologist William James said, “I don’t sing because I’m happy. I’m happy because I sing.” Happiness is a state of mind. The mind is the most powerful tool in the universe, and you are the one who controls it. Like your car, if you see your mind heading in the wrong direction, you can steer it another way. You need to steer your mind away from negative feelings and head in a different direction. Don’t dwell on the situation that brought you to that emotional state. John Lennon, the legendary member of “The Beatles” said: “When I was five years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy.’ They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.” When the library of Alexandria burned centuries ago, only one insignificant book was saved. A poor man who could read a little bought it for a few coppers. The book wasn't very interesting, but between its pages he found something very interesting indeed – a thin strip of parchment on which was written the secret of the touchstone. The touchstone, according to the document, was a small pebble that could turn any common metal into pure gold. The writing explained that it was lying among thousands of other pebbles on a beach. The real stone would feel warm to the touch, while ordinary pebbles are cold.
The man went to the seashore described on the parchment and began testing pebbles. Figuring that if he picked up ordinary pebbles and threw them down again because they were cold, he might pick up the same pebble hundreds of times. So, when he felt one that was cold, he threw it into the sea. He spent days at his search, picking up cold pebbles, then throwing them into the sea. One day, after weeks and months, the man picked up a pebble and threw it into the sea. Then he realized that the pebble had been warm – the touchstone! But he had formed such a strong habit of throwing each pebble into the sea that when the one he wanted came along, he still threw it away. Such is the pursuit of happiness. Searching for that one magic pebble, people expend countless energy and effort. Even when the supposed happiness-producing experience is realized, it is often cast aside. Happiness is enjoying each pebble-like life experience because you’ve decided to focus on the good in all of life’s moments. “The Good Old Days” -By Tom Kuehne Red Squirrels
Sometimes I experience things that I feel would make interesting stories. To set the background, I parked my pickup at the end of my shed, since it is used very seldom and the shed door needs to be about a foot wider. So it spends it's time parked in
the driveway. One day several weeks ago, I thought I should open the hood on the pickup, just to check things out. I got a big surprise. The motor was covered with pine cones. They were hidden in all areas, including any valley that would serve as a storage place, under any space that could be used for hiding pine cones and places that I couldn't readily see. Another surprise was a big nest on top of the transmission, about two gallons in size, created with insulation from under the hood. A real mess. I spent more than an hour removing the unwanted treasures. Working under a pickup hood is definitely for those with less age. Red squirrels are cute and very energetic. They are known for their ability to get into almost anything. Their presence frequently involves destruction at their location. All the while I was trying to clean up the mess in the pickup, my mind was thinking of how to get rid of the squirrel. Poison could be passed on to those that may find a poisoned carcass, I didn't like that idea. I thought a trap would work, so I tried it. I took an old, single spring round gopher trap, put a glob of peanut butter on the trigger pan and put it on top of the fan shroud, so it was readily noticeable. Next day I found a red squirrel in the trap. Evidently, stress caused by being caught in a trap, causes the animal to pass on quickly. The only problem was that the squirrel dropped down on the power steering pump and got itself tangled up with the small piping on top of the pump. No big deal, I pulled it out and left it lay for who-ever was hungry.
The trap was reset and I caught 5 additional red squirrels at the same location over the next couple of weeks, Another problem surfaced, the weather has been getting colder and the trapped squirrels keep falling on top of the power steering pump. Have you ever tried to remove a frozen stiff squirrel from between the small piping on the power steering pump? Well, let me tell you, it's not easy. In order to successfully remove the frozen body, it requires the removal of legs or other body parts that are wrapped around the pipes. Since performing surgery leaning over the fender and being upside down, becomes an experience better read about than actually experienced. Now for the best part. Early the next morning a crow would find the frozen squirrel. A human, finding a special treat, would quietly share the treat with their closest friends. But not the crow. They immediately broadcast in a loud voice that they found the treat. Soon every crow within a couple of miles arrives and they all express their joy over the find. They all seem to share in the work of finding a way to reduce the treat into pieces they can swallow. When the treat is gone they all leave, however a lookout will fly over the area frequently to see if another treat appears. So now you know about the excitement in my life! If I needed to put a title to this article it would be “The Gift”. With Christmas only a couple days away, and as we look at the gift that was given to us through Jesus, who was born a virgin. What a miracle, what a challenge to shake your faith. Do you believe all of it? Have you ever gotten a gift that you continually paid for? I am thinking of a pet, or maybe something that ate up a lot of batteries. It became obvious that this gift was going to be costly. Some gifts are not appreciated. Now we have all been given a gift like that but to describe it best is like a 9-month-old, opening his/her first present. What are they most interested in? The packaging… maybe the bright colors or the sound, but not the present inside the package. Sometimes we get gifts with strings attached, “If you don’t do this with the gift, I will take it away!” When Lori and I got married, we wanted to do all our own preparations, ok, we were overachievers. We started to make the flowers, but it was obvious to us that we were not going to get done. A lady in the church volunteered to make them for us, but after she was all done, she gave us a bill. A gift that cost, and with strings attached. The Bible speaks a great deal about gifts, the main one being life: James 1:17-18 “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of first fruits of all he created.” God loves

Florence A. Hinnenkamp
Florence A. Hinnenkamp, age 89 of Melrose, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at the CentraCare Care Center in Melrose, Minnesota. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, December 23 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Melrose with Rev. Marvin Enneking officiating. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery. The Mass will be livestreamed and can be found on St. Mary’s website. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Florence Anna Feldewerd was born September 2, 1932 in New Munich, Minnesota to Nick and Aurelia (Rademacher) Feldewerd. She was united in marriage to Edward Hinnenkamp on May 10, 1955 in New Munich. The couple farmed near the Melrose area until their retirement in 1992. For the past six years, Florence has lived at Park View in Melrose. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Melrose. Florence enjoyed quilting, baking, playing BINGO, and attending family gatherings. Survivors include her children, Bernice Garbina of St. Cloud, Jeron (Lavonne) Hinnenkamp of Melrose, Susan (Dave) Voeltz of Sauk Rapids, Ben (Pam) Hinnenkamp of Sauk Centre, Jane (Craig) Olsen of Altoona, Wisconsin, Anne (Ray) Kenney of Woodbury, and Pete (Barb) Hinnenkamp of Melrose; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brothers and sister, Alfred Feldewerd, Aloys Feldewerd, Erwin Feldewerd, Juliana Boecker, Wilfred Feldewerd, Melvin Feldewerd, and Paul Feldewerd. Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Hinnenkamp on August 20, 1995; parents; and great-grandson, Paul Boeckermann. Kalli A. Doroff
Kalli A. Doroff, 56 year old resident of Swanville, MN, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at the Long Prairie Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, December 20, 2021 at St. John's the Baptist Church in Swanville with Father Ron D o c k e n d o r f officiating. Burial took place in the parish cemetery. Caring for Kalli and her family is the Shelley Funeral Chapel of Swanville. Kalli Ann Doroff was born July 12, 1965, to Dean and Joanne (Anderson) Doroff. She lived in Swanville most of her life, attending and graduating from the Swanville School, and had the honor of being crowned Homecoming Queen in 1983. Kalli went on to receive a Graphic Arts degree from Central Lakes College in Staples. What a wonderful gift she had as an artist, and then with the use of her computer, a MAC, she designed beautiful and unique projects as a graphic designer. She was known for her excellent “eye for detail,” and always strived for perfection. She started her own business J’Kals Design. She was always checking out the newest technology. During her early school years, Kalli was diagnosed with hearing loss and Muscular Dystrophy. These conditions caused many complications and struggles for Kalli. Loving sports, but never being able to play, she became the biggest cheerleader for her friends and family. Because of her challenges, Kalli was very aware of others trials and troubles and made an effort to support them. She was always there to lend an ear, help however she could, and was always lifting people up with kind words on Facebook. Kalli was a social butterfly and took a real interest, and had a real love for everyone she came in contact with. She loved her Lord and Savior, the Vikings, Luke Bryan, and of course, her family and friends. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing cards, puzzles, and games. Kalli was more than an aunt to her nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, she was another “grandma.” She loved them with all her heart and spent many hours playing with them, giving them rides on her scooter and supporting them in their many activities and interests. Kalli lived her life as a blessing to so many, and she was truly blessed with the love and support of so many wonderful friends, and family, the whole community. We will miss her easy gentle smile, her huge heart, and long conversations. Kalli is survived by her parents, Dean and Joanne Doroff, of Swanville; brothers, Brad (Laurie) Doroff of Pierz, and Brian (Jamie Stewart) Doroff of Waukesha, WI; sister, Becky (Steve) Fellbaum of Swanville; nieces and nephews, Kennard (Laura), Russell, Luke and Adam Fellbaum, Lisa (Chad) Salber, Courtney (Justin) Cox, Kayla and Kristina Stewart, Steven (Danielle), Arron (Ashley Kirckof), Zachary (Hannah Stoll) Doroff; great-nieces and nephews, Eli, Selah, Hannah, and Joanna Doroff, Sophie and Mila Cox, Paige, Megan, Carly and Brayden Fellbaum, Riggs and Delani Salber. Aloys J. “Al” Wenker
Aloys J. “Al” Wenker, age 98 of Albany, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at the Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany, Minnesota. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, December 20 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany with Rev. Edward Vebelun, O.S.B. officiating. Interment was held at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Freeport. Aloys Joseph Wenker was born October 13, 1923 in Albany Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Bernard and Julianna (Hoeschen) Wenker. He attended Sacred Heart School in Freeport through the eighth grade. Al graduated from Albany High School, Salutatorian of the class of 1941. He farmed the land that his parents owned alongside his brother, Bill Wenker. Al milked cows, raised hogs, cattle, and laying chickens. Al was active in Sacred Heart Parish in Freeport. He served as Chief Ranger of the Catholic Order of Foresters. At the pastor’s request, Al organized and led the first Parish Council. He was a member of the choir and served as director for many years. He co-chaired the parish Centennial Celebration in July of 1981. Al was a Parish Trustee and served in that role for seventeen years. He also formed the Knights of Columbus Men’s Choir and was a Crosier Apostolate. Al married Marjorie “Marge” Pemble on July 28, 1990. After marrying Marge, he moved to Albany and became active in the parish ministries at Seven Dolors Parish. He was an active member of the Albany community and was involved with Meals on Wheels, Albany Senior Citizens, Albany Heritage Society, Albany Pioneer Club, and Stearns County History Museum. He enjoyed traveling, singing, camping with family, bowling, attending daily Mass and having coffee with friends. Al was an avid card player and enjoyed spending time with his nieces, nephews, and stepchildren. Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Marge Wenker of Albany; and stepchildren, Greg (Becky) Pemble of Cold Spring, Renee (Mike) Doetkott of Becker, Sharon (Rod) Radosevich of River Falls, Wisconsin, Steve (Lisa) Pemble of Albany, and Mike (Julie) Pemble of River Falls, Wisconsin; and ten grandchildren. Al was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters, Marie Dirkes, Clara Meyer, and Della Ehlert; and brothers, Joseph, William, and Maurice “Max” Wenker. Victor W. “Vic” Wiener
Victor W. “Vic” Wiener, age 94, of Sauk Centre, passed away peacefully Friday, December 17, 2021, at the Sauk Centre Care Center in Sauk Centre, Minnesota. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, December 20 at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Greg Paffel officiating. Interment was in the parish cemetery with military honors by the Sauk Centre United Veterans Honor Guard. Victor Walter Wiener was born March 22, 1927, in Padua, Minnesota to Louis and Margaret (Krebsbach) Wiener. He joined the U.S. Navy Seabees in 1945 during World War II and was stationed in the Philippines. On June 1, 1948, he married Dorothy Sunderman at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. Vic worked at Al Liebel’s garage and Walker’s Chevrolet as a mechanic and then at the Sauk Centre Armory as a custodian. While working at the Armory, he bartended at the Palmer House and at the American Legion Post 67. In his spare time, Vic volunteered his time with the Sauk Centre Fire Department for 30 plus years. He was a member of the Sauk Centre Lions, Bishop Busch Council #4863 Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post 67, and Paul F. Donart VFW Post 2853. Vic also ran the American Legion fair stand for many years, drove ambulance, was a firearm safety instructor for 50 plus years, and drove school bus; becoming a dad to all those who rode his bus. Vic also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and Sauk Centre High School sports. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy “Dutch” Wiener of Sauk Centre; children, Cindy (Roger) Uhlenkamp of Villard, Rick (Elaine) Wiener of Apple Valley, Pam (Tim) Walker of Sun City West, Arizona, Nona (Denny) Walter of Sauk Centre, Randy Wiener of Sauk Centre, Jodie (Tim) Deschene of Sauk Centre, and Rob (Jo) Wiener of Sauk Centre; 19 grandchildren and 34 greatgrandchildren; and sister, Gloria Harless of Idaho. Vic was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Trudy Wiener; granddaughters, Marie Uhlenkamp and Shaunia Zirbes; brothers, Melvin and Howard Wiener; and sister, Alvina Goering. A memorial service will be held in the spring of 2022. K e n n e t h Andrew Holthaus was born January 11, 1975, in Edina, Minnesota to Kenneth and Joan (Silvia) Holthaus. Andy worked at Comcast for 21 years. He resided in New Prague but enjoyed spending his free time with his family at the cabin on Big Birch Lake in Grey Eagle. Andy’s love for the outdoors included fishing, hunting, golfing, waterskiing, and boating. Agatha M. Kunstleben, age 95 of New Munich, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Friday, December 17, 2021 at the Tree of Life Assisted Living in New Munich, Minnesota. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich with Rev. Daniel Walz officiating. Inurnment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Agatha Mary Statz was born January 5, 1926 in Munson Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Leonard and Anna (Vossen) Statz. She was united in marriage to Claude Kunstleben on June 21, 1950 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Richmond. Claude and Agatha farmed six miles south of Albany for 54 years until 1987 when they retired and moved to New Munich. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Munich and the Christian Mothers in both Farming and New Munich. Agatha enjoyed quilting, playing BINGO, going to auctions and bizarres, and playing cards, especially Smear and 500. She was known for her apple pies. Prior to her becoming a resident of Tree of Life, Agatha enjoyed visiting and playing cards with the residents there. Survivors include her children, Diane (Gerald) Hoppe of St. Cloud, Mary Hoppe of Albany, Annette (Arnold, Jr.) Roering of New Munich, Jane (Loren) Niehoff of Melrose, Jeffrey Kunstleben of Albany, Elaine (Francis) Funk of Sauk Centre, Richard "Rick" (Carol) Kunstleben of Rockville, and Angela (Ralph) Moscho of St. Augusta; 29 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren; sister, Anna Schmitt of Richmond; and sister-in-law, Clara Statz of Richmond. Crash: December 16, 2021: At approximately 11:01 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the area of 43610 125th Avenue in Brockway Township for a rollover crash with possible injuries. Upon arrival deputies found the driver, Emmalee Hollermann, 16, of Burtrum, with passengers, Anthony Martin, 17, St. Joseph, and Aaron Gonzales, 16, Sauk Centre, outside of an overturned 2010 Dodge Ram. It appeared Hollermann had been traveling southbound on 125th Avenue when she had hit a patch of ice, over-corrected the vehicle, and went into the east ditch where the vehicle rolled an unknown number of times. All parties stated they were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. The truck was totaled and towed from the scene. Hollermann was transported by ambulance to the hospital for evaluation and treatment. The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, as well as the Holdingford Fire Department and Mayo Ambulance Service.

Elizabeth C. “Betty” Sand, age 92 of Albany, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 20, 2021 at the Mother of Mercy Nursing Home in Albany, Minnesota. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 23 at Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Albany with Rev. Edward Vebelun, O.S.B. officiating. The Mass will be recorded and can be viewed on the following website hohcatholic.org. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday at the Seven Dolors gathering area. Elizabeth Carolyn Kraemer was born May 4, 1929 in West Union to John and Francis (Deters) Kraemer. Betty graduated from Osakis High School and graduated in 1947. She was very proud of the fact that she was the first in her family to graduate high school. She received a nursing certificate and worked briefly as a nursing assistant at the Melrose Hospital. It was there that she met Ervin Sand who was in the hospital to have surgery. They immediately hit it off and were engaged shortly after meeting. Ervin and Betty were married Oct 12, 1948 at St. Alexius Catholic Church in West Union, MN. Ervin and Betty moved to a farm near New Munich, MN and began to build their family. Betty took quickly to the roll of a farmer’s wife and mother. The family grew to four children before they moved to Albany in 1954. Their small farm on the edge of town was bustling with cows, horses, pigs, chickens and children. As the family grew to eleven children, the town of Albany grew and soon the farm was divided up into lots for single family homes. Ervin got into the construction business and Betty added bookkeeping, painting and staining to her list of many talents. When Ervin and some partners built the Dairy Queen in Albany, Betty became the general manager. Next came the Sand’s Motel and the Sand’s Restaurant. Many of the recipes that Betty used to feed her children were used when the restaurant was opened and are still in use today. Betty was very involved in Seven Dolors Catholic Church, the Albany Community Center and Mother of Mercy Care Center. She enjoyed knitting, needlepoint and quilting with the Christian Women to make sure all her children and grandchildren had quilts, afghans, scarfs, pot holders and dish towels for years to come. Yes, Betty Sand wore many hats over her 92 years, but the best ones she wore were wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She wore all those titles with pride. “When a mother dies, we lose a piece of who we are. We lose the person whose story provides the beginning of our own.” (Author unknown) Survivors include her children, James (Jean) Sand of Avon, Dennis (Joan) Sand of Albany, Judy (Eldred) Dingmann of Monticello, Dale (Mary) Sand of Cold Spring, Leo Sand of Avon, Tom (Ginger) Sand of Rochester, and Brian (Sherri) Sand of Albany; 26 grandchildren, 45 greatgrandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; and daughter-in-law, Karen Sand of St. Joseph. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Sand on February 10, 2000; parents; daughters, Mary Kay Sand, Diane Sand, Mary Lou Sand, and Joyce Winter; son-in-law, Bert Winter; brothers and sisters, Frank Kraemer, John Kraemer, Vivian Marthaler, Mary Jane Kane, Jerry Kraemer, and Ray Kraemer; and grandson, Joey Sand. James D. “Jim” Eggerth
James D. “Jim” Eggerth, age 70 of Grey Eagle, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at his home in Grey Eagle, Minnesota. A memorial service will be held at a later date. James David Eggerth was born March 19, 1951 in Little Falls, Minnesota to Jerome and Irene (Rech) Eggerth. Jim quit school at 16 and joined the Job Corp. working in Kentucky and Wisconsin. He moved to Alaska for three years and worked on the fishing boats catching shrimp, crab, and halibut, and then returned to Minnesota. While working in Little Falls, he met the girl of his dreams and married Anita Zilka. The couple lived in Grey Eagle for six years and had two children. In 1981, they moved out to the country where he lived to this day. Jim worked at the Country Hearthside as head chef and later moved on to fabricating fire trucks in Sauk Centre. He retired in 2005 because of bad health, (COPD). He enjoyed woodworking, playing games on the computer, sitting on the back deck enjoying nature, visiting with family, and telling good old stories. Survivors include his wife, Anita Eggerth of Grey Eagle; children, Jamie (Marlea) Eggerth of Little Falls and Jennifer (Dave) Unger of Sauk Centre; grandchildren, Jason Eggerth of St. Cloud, Austin and Logan Eggerth of Little Falls, Jesse Wolbeck of South Dakota, and Sasha Unger of Sauk Centre; and brothers, Duane (Delores) Eggerth of Little Falls and Marvin (Bonnie) Eggerth of Burtrum. Sharing a kind word with a classmate, or even their teacher, will go a long way toward brightening someone’s day any time of year. When you’re involved in giving or helping others in any way, take your kids with
you. If you’re sponsoring a family through your church, or participating in a charity drive, let your kids be part of the buying and delivery process. When you make giving memories together, they’ll stick with your kids for years to come. If you really want to make the kids part of the process, you could let them pick a charity to help. If you give them a commission for doing jobs around the house, or if they’re older and have a part-time job, they can start saving a percentage to donate. Another idea might be giving away old toys. Take some time to gather up all the toys they don’t play with and don’t want anymore. Search the closet together, and choose things to take to Goodwill or another charitable organization. Remember, you’re the adult. That means it’s your job to set an example and create teachable moments. So, this year give your kids nice gifts within your budget. But take time to create situations that allow them to participate in wonderful giving experiences, as well — because giving truly is better than receiving. Dear Motor Medics, I’m having trouble listening to your car radio show. It’s not so much you guys but rather my car. If I listen at home or in my friend’s car it’s loud and clear but I just can’t seem to get good reception on my vehicle radio. The truck has about 100k miles and is a 2011 Chevy. I started getting poor reception a few years ago and it has become worse. The FM reception is poor, and the AM is very poor. It has kind of a popping sound that changes speed of pops as the engine changes speed. Where would I begin to fix this problem myself? -Mike in Joplin, Missouri Dear Mike, It could be many things that won’t be too hard to fix if you have some basic mechanical skills. It could also be the entire radio but let’s start with checking the cheaper stuff first. A radio is only as good as its antenna so start there. Check the mast and the mounting. The antenna should be tight where it mounts to the vehicle. Check the cable as well. The cable needs to have no corrosion at any connector joint from the antenna to the radio. If all looks good try a test antenna that is not mounted to the vehicle. If it fixes the problem, it is likely the antenna. If not, then it is time to have some diagnostics done at the local radio repair shop. -Take care, the Motor Medics Dear Motor Medics, I don’t have any jumper cables in my car at this time and would like to start carrying some. You would think it would be a simple task, just going to the store and picking out a nice set but when I did, I got so confused that I had to write. Can you help me with the different kinds and what might be better for me? Heavy gauge jumper cables with large ends are good for jumping a car quickly and often. A rechargeable jump pack also works well for this. The difference is you need to get close with your vehicle to connect cables while the pack is self-contained.
