Welcome

Message from our Executive Director

Dear Friends and Partners,

At HomeAid Austin, our mission is simple but powerful: to build and renovate housing for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness, while engaging the building community and our supporters to give back. Every home we build, every Care Day we host, and every event we hold is made possible through the generosity of individuals, companies, and organizations like yours.

This playbook highlights the many ways you can get involved in 2026 from sponsoring our signature events, like the Charity Golf Tournament and Homecoming Gala, to volunteering at Care Days, supporting the Benefit Home, or participating in our Builders for Babies drive. Each partnership, no matter the size, helps transform lives, strengthen our community, and give hope to those who need it most.

We are proud of the impact we’ve made together, but there is still so much work to do. I invite you to explore the opportunities in this playbook and join us in building homes, building hope, and building community. Together, we can make a meaningful difference for families across Central Texas.

With gratitude,

In Travis County, thousands of individuals and families experience homelessness every year. Many are living in temporary shelters, transitional housing, or unsafe conditions that make it difficult to access education, employment, and healthcare. The demand for safe, stable housing far exceeds available resources, and families and individuals at risk of homelessness often fall through the cracks. These numbers highlight the critical gap in housing and support services in our community. HomeAid Austin works to close that gap by building homes, renovating facilities, and engaging volunteers and corporate partners to create lasting impact.

Benefit Homes

The HBA Benefit Home is HomeAid Austin’s annual construction project, bringing together local builders, trades, and community partners to create a new home. Once completed and sold on the open market, the majority of net proceeds directly benefit HomeAid Austin’s mission to build safe, stable housing for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness Each home represents a tangible way to transform lives and strengthen our community.

How It Works

Collaborative Build

Local builders, trade partners, and volunteers come together to construct a home from start to finish.

Trade & Material Donors

Carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and suppliers donate labor, materials, and services.

Builder Captains

Experienced leaders manage the project, coordinate volunteers, and secure trade donations.

Timeline

From groundbreaking to dedication, the project typically spans 3-6 months, culminating in a completed home ready for sale.

Whether you volunteer your time, donate resources, or sponsor a project, you’ll help HomeAid Austin create safe homes and lasting change for families in need Over the past 6 years, the Benefit Homes have raised over $1 Million to support HomeAid Austin.

Build with HomeAid Austin

Make your charitable acts effective and visible, give back to the community in a tangible and meaningful way, and be a part of a national cause and mission ending homelessness.

Aligning with local and national builders as well as local homeless service agencies, HomeAid Austin has created a unique approach to building housing projects for the unhoused

Our projects benefit organizations that serve people experiencing or at risk of homelessness Once the need and location have been identified, a builder captain is chosen to manage the construction or renovation of the housing project The builder captain also secures trade donors such as carpenters, plumbers, insulators, and roofers, to provide labor, materials, and other services. Finally, the housing project is built or renovated, typically with an average cost savings of 30-50%
