A native Patersonian, Dr. Viva is a member of the United Holy Church of America Inc-Northern District Convocation; National Association of Black Social Workers-New Jersey Chapter; Women of Color-New Jersey; Abbott Leadership Institute (ALI); Parents Unified for Local School Education (PULSE)-Journey for Justice Alliance; Resource Trainer with People's Institute for Survival and Beyond Undoing Racism workshops; Alliance for Newark Public Schools; Founder/Executive Director of Balm In Gilead Community Services Inc, a Non-Profit Community-Based Organization to address the behavioral health needs in communities prevalent with crime, poverty, and violence; Chief Executive Officer at Making Connections Professional Services, LLC, a consulting agency that provides clinical supervision and administrative support; a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc; National Congress of Negro Women (NCNW); a member of Newark Anti-Violence Coalition (NAVC); City of Newark Commission on the Status of Women Commissioner; sista-teacher.com, a blog about education and healthcare as it relates to the marginalized, disenfranchised, under resourced, and underrepresented communities.
