Holland & Knight Launches HK Navigator to Map Healthcare Transaction Laws To help healthcare providers and investors track important developments that directly impact financial and strategic transactions, Holland & Knight has launched an online tool called HK Navigator: Mapping Healthcare Transaction Laws. Healthcare dealmakers can now instantly access critical information on the states where pre-closing notices and/or approval are mandated for certain healthcare transactions, including transactions involving Management Services Organizations (MSOs) and Dental Support Organizations (DSOs). Healthcare transactions, particularly those involving private equity investors, face unprecedented government scrutiny in an already-challenging regulatory environment. Change of ownership transactions – including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), other investments and divestitures – in the industry are increasingly subject to review under new state laws and regulations. On the federal level, recent healthcare antitrust enforcement action has delayed a number of highprofile deals.
