Asegúrense de que sus niños entiendan bien de cómo tratar a sus compañeros correctamente, y de denunciar cuando vean a alguien ser acosado. Research shows that one in three kids experience bullying at some point in their school life—and in our increasingly digital world, the consequences can be extreme. Make sure your children understand the proper way to treat their peers and when to speak up if they see someone else being bullied. It’s super important to let them know to come to you if they feel they are being bullied. TERRAZO Y SUPERFICIES Terrazo El Punto Focal De Un Espacio

ntre los amantes del terrazo en el pasado encontramos a George Washington (que usó terrazo en Mount Vernon) y Michelangelo. Inventado en el siglo XIII, los artistas del mosaico italiano crearon el piso de terrazo, luego de remover los restos de mármol de sus estudios hacia los terrazos (palabra italiana para “terrazas”). El mármol se enterraba en el suelo, dado que muchos caminaban sobre la superficie. Con el tiempo, el mármol tomaba una apariencia lisa. A los artesanos les gustó el aspecto y agregaron pequeños trozos de mármol a la arcilla, que luego era muy bien pulida.

Fabricado con frecuencia hoy en día con epoxy para los interiores y con cemento para el exterior, y se usa granito, vidrio y ónix. Esmerilar y pulir la superficie del terrazo son aún el último paso antes de aplicar un sellador. Heredar un piso de terrazo de un dueño anterior tiene pros y contras. Los pisos de terrazo soportan años de malos tratos y continúan viéndose como nuevos mucho tiempo después de ser colocados y requieren poco mantenimiento, además de un trapeado semanal. Es mejor Restaurar el Terrazo o Instalar uno Nuevo? Descubre las ventajas del terrazo y puede que decidas conservar y/o instalar uno Nuevo con colores vibrantes y hasta con arte que tú mismo o la familia entera puede crear juntos. Mitzy El Diseñador de las Estrellas Un latente ejemplo de esfuerzo y superación que enorgullece a la comunidad latina y que embellece con su talento los escenarios y pasarelas del mundo entero.

a grandeza y el genio no tienen estirpe, oriundo de un pequeño pero colorido poblado conocido como “ Pueblo Viejo”, Michoacan, México, nació el niño Cebedeo, nombre de pila que le diera su madre, y cuyo padre fuera asesinado, ambos de origen campesino, conoció la pobreza desde la infancia, emigro a la ciudad de México a la edad de 14 años, donde quedo deslumbrado por las luces de la gran ciudad, los inicios del joven que adoptaría posteriormente el nombre de Jorge García Cárdenas no fueron fáciles, los padecimientos propios del emigrante, maltratos, abusos, discriminación, racismo en su propio país, lejos de vencerlo, forjaron su tenacidad y afinaron su ingenio, influenciado por el espectáculo del Vodevil, Chaquira y Popotillo fecundaron la creatividad de este artista que el competitivo mundo de la moda conocería mas tarde con el nombre de MITZY. “El hambre y la necesidad son el detonante para la sobrevivencia de cualquier ser humano”. Y para Mitzy, el diseñador mexicano, fueron las responsables de que creara su primer vestido, hace más de 40 años. Como todo genio, Mitzy tuvo su musa inspiradora, “Francis” su entrañable amigo, Francisco García Escalante, travesti e imitador de las grandes divas del espectáculo y la canción, a quien confeccionara su primer diseño, y que marcaria el inicio de su exitosa carrera, lo que lo llevaría a conocer a su primer clienta famosa, la actriz y vedette mexicana de origen yugoslavo Sasha Montenegro (viuda del ex presidente mexicano José López Portillo). La fama encaminaría sus pasos hacia Mitzy progresivamente, al conocer a la legendaria María Félix “La Doña”, a Verónica Castro, y Thalía, con quien justamente uno de los diseños más famosos y cuyas fotografías dieron la vuelta al mundo, fue el vestido de la boda de Thalía al contraer nupcias con Tommy Mottola. En una trayectoria ininterrumpida de más de 40 años, Mitzy es reconocido como unos de los mejores diseñadores mexicanos en el mundo, ha creado hermosos y creativos diseños que vistieron a las personalidades más famosas del espectáculo, tales como, Salma Hayek, Yuri, Roció Durcal, Carla Estrada, Lucha Villa, Kim Basinger, Niurka, Edith González, Itati Cantoral, Maribel Guardia, Dulce, Daniela Romo, Francis, Sasha Montenegro, Roció Jurado, Olga Guillot, Rebeca de Alba, Laura León, Lupita D´Alessio, Paty Navidad, Elsa Aguirre, Adela Noriega y más.

La carismática conductora del segmento “Bella como una estrella” del show “El Gordo y la Flaca” en Univision ha conquistado el corazón de sus televidentes con su belleza, talento y pasión. La modelo, actriz y presentadora, que nació en la ciudad de Medellín, Colombia le brindó a Hola Latinos Magazine una entrevista en exclusiva: 1.- Ximena ya has probado varias facetas del mundo del espectáculo, ¿con cuál te sientes más cómoda? XIMENA: Bueno la presentación es mi fuerte, es lo que siempre he hecho, en lo que me he preparado. Yo estudié periodismo en la Universidad de Miami y eso me abrió un mundo de posibilidades como presentadora, reportera, como comunicadora y es como mi fuerte se podría decir, lo que más me gusta hacer, porque a la final es Ximena Córdoba, lo que ella es, como habla, como transmite, o sea ella misma frente al público y me fascina, pero en algún momento he tenido la oportunidad de actuar y de hacer cositas para el mercado americano, y me gustó, también lo que son comerciales y cosas así. 2.- Expresaste alegría cuando volviste a las filas del periodismo de la mano de Univisión en “El Gordo y la Flaca”, ¿Por qué te complace tanto esta incursión? XC: Bueno porque definitivamente “El Gordo y la Flaca” es una experiencia única, es un programa que es todos los días en vivo, es la noticia del día, así que tienes que tener la habilidad de hacer las cosas en el momento, inmediatamente, la capacidad de improvisar, de sacar una nota en el momento, de hacer una entrevista al instante y me permite crecer profesionalmente. En “El Gordo y la Flaca” yo misma produzco mis segmentos, todas las ideas que tengo las llevo a cabo, produzco mis notas, las entrevistas, las escribo, busco las imágenes, entonces a la final no solamente soy un talento que está frente a las cámaras, y que le echan maquillaje y se para ahí. No. Estoy también detrás de las cámaras, así que estoy desde las 9:30 de la mañana en mi trabajo como toda productora viendo qué es lo que se va a hacer, qué cosa se puede sacar, qué notas se pueden hacer, qué entrevistas se pueden realizar para el beneficio del programa, y eso me hace como un talento plus ¿si me entiendes? He aprendido increíblemente. Estoy súper contenta, he propuesto varios segmentos que han gustado mucho, como lo es “Bella como una estrella”.
4.- ¿Qué artista que hayas entrevistado en tu segmento te ha sorprendido más? XC: Bueno he tenido la oportunidad de entrevistar muchos artistas, pero Leslie Grace ha sido una persona que realmente me ha impactado, porque es una niña que es tan joven pero cuando habla sale tanta madurez, tanta espiritualidad de su boca que de verdad yo digo ¡guao! …me impacta porque en realidad no siempre vamos a ver artistas con tanta humildad, con tanta frescura y con tanta espiritualidad como yo la he visto en ella. No tiene ese egocentrismo de ser estrella, es una persona 100% natural, como cualquier otra persona del día a día, y de verdad ¡es tan joven!

3.- ¡En “Bella como una estrella” manejas tu recurso físico a la perfección! ¿Cómo haces para mantenerte en forma y fresca para la pantalla? XC: Mira la primera clave para mantenerse fresca-- pienso yo-- que es estar feliz, si uno no irradia felicidad, paz, esperanza, fe, es imposible que por más cosas que uno se haga físicamente… de pronto uno irradie algo bueno, entonces yo pienso que siempre es como del interior hacia afuera. Para mí, mi paz interior es creer en Dios, el orar, el tener fe que las cosas van a ser cada vez mejores, es mi ejercicio número uno día tras día. ¡Es el ejercicio más importante! Después de ese, me gusta hacer ejercicio, hago CrossFit todas las mañanas, yo a veces tomo mis rutinas de ejercicios porque me gusta compartir en mis redes sociales cosas que le aporten a la gente que me sigue y me gusta compartir mis rutinas porque pienso que son cosas que la gente puede hacer en sus casas o simplemente les motiva para poder ellos también hacerlos. Voy todos los días 20 minutos a hacer crossfit y lo hago no solo por lo físico, sino porque me da energía, fuerza durante todo el día. Alimentarme bien aunque yo me doy mis pecaditos con la alimentación porque como buena colombiana, me gusta el chicharrón y todas esas cosas, pero lo hago más como el fin de semana. 5.- ¿Qué artista te encantaría tener en tu segmento? XC: Bueno yo hago diferentes segmentos de “El Gordo y la Flaca” pero si hablamos del segmento “Bella como una estrella” me encantaría entrevistar artistas como Kim Kardashian, Jennifer López, especialmente Jennifer López porque considero que es una mujer, con respecto a belleza que tiene cuarenta y tantos años y me parece que se ve espectacular… que le contara a todos cómo hace para lucir así de increíble porque queremos saber todos los secretos.
6.- Hace un buen rato que dejaste atrás la actuación, ¿tienes algún plan para volver? XC: Si me hicieran una muy buena propuesta la tomaría, pero es algo que tendría que pensar porque al final yo he tomado un camino que pienso que es el que se me ha abierto las puertas, pero yo no lo dejo a un lado, la televisión americana, una comedia, o algo así, pienso que sería un mundo que me gustaría conocer, pero tiene que ser que me llegara como una propuesta o algo que viniera no sé… pero irme a buscar o aventurarme a ver qué pasa…no…no creo que este en mis planes, yo ya tengo mi familia, y mi familia está primero que mi trabajo así que no. 7.- ¿Cómo se proyecta Ximena Córdoba para 2017? XC: La verdad no tengo ningún plan, yo siempre pienso que yo vivo el día a día porque nadie sabe qué pasará mañana, la verdad es que la vida es tan roller coaster, todo puede pasar, yo trato de estar en el presente, de olvidar el pasado, todo lo que fue, positivo o negativo, de vivir el presente, de resolver las cosas que haya que resolver, y de darle gracias a Dios por las cosas que hay que darle gracias, por supuesto porque son infinidad de ellas y ya, y pienso que esa es la manera que los seres humanos debemos vivir, sí debemos proyectarnos, pero yo pienso que los planes del futuro dependen de las decisiones que tomemos en el presente. Cuando Dios tiene un plan con uno, se cumple. 8.- Tienes un hijo de 19 años, haber sido madre tan joven, ¿cómo cambió tu vida? XC: ¡Claro! ¡Lo he dicho infinidad de veces! Yo fui mamá a los 16 años, ya mi hijo tiene 19 años, y me cambió la vida para bien porque ser mamá me ha hecho ver la vida de una forma diferente, todavía soy una mujer súper joven porque a la final mi hijo ¡podría ser mi hermano menor! Jajaja pero me siento bien porque ha hecho una mujer muy madura, una mujer muy luchadora, que se ha esforzado por ser la mejor mamá, por darle un buen futuro y un buen presente a mi hijo y cuando lo veo a él de pronto tan orgulloso de mí, yéndole de pronto tan bien en lo que hace, lo que emprende, siento que Dios me permitió hacer un buen trabajo, y que de alguna manera no importa lo difícil que haya sido, crecer juntos porque crecimos juntos a la final, hemos salido adelante al mismo tiempo los dos, y estoy muy agradecida con Dios porque a la final él ha sido mi mayor motivación. 9.- ¿Te gustaría que Samuel incursionara en el mundo del entretenimiento? XC: No. No. Definitivamente no quisiera, yo pienso que… obviamente él decidirá lo que quiera hacer, pero no pienso que yo quiero que sea algo para él si él me diera la oportunidad de darle mi opinión. Pienso que es un medio un poquito difícil, ingrato un poco, porque a veces estás, y otras no, y es de mucha perseverancia, y yo lo vivo, porque me ha ido muy bien, y le agradezco mucho a Dios por eso, pero si pudiera elegir por mi hijo, yo desearía que él fuese un empresario, que no dependa de pronto de la oportunidad del mañana si no de pronto que pueda tener más control de lo que es su presente y su futuro también. 10.- ¿Qué es lo que más extrañas de tu país? XC: La familia, la comida. ¡La tierra llama!

migas este mes quiero darles unos consejos de belleza que ustedes mismas pueden preparar en sus hogares y son totalmente naturales. Yo mantengo mi piel lozana y juvenil gracias a estos consejos naturales. Los preparo en mi hogar de dos a tres veces por semana. Esta mascarilla la preparo una hora antes de maquillarme para cualquier evento de alfombra roja o cuando voy de invitada a programas de televisión. Mi rostro se ilumina de inmediato! Si tienes 30 minutos de sobra, malcría tu cara un poco. Lava tu rostro bien con agua tibia y aplica yogur natural, (sin azúcar y sin sabor) evitando el área de los ojos. Agrégale 1/4 de cucharada de miel orgánica y relájate por 30 minutos. Después de 30 minutos, lávate la cara con agua tibia y el resultado será espectacular y tu rostro te lo agradecerá. El yogur es un excelente hidratante para la piel y es un exfoliante natural. Pocos saben que los productos lácteos contienen acido láctico y este es excelente para la piel. La miel contiene muchos minerales y vitaminas que mantienen la piel humectada, es un exfoliante natural y regenera las células muertas mientras hidrata. Lo puedes repetir 3 veces por semana.
Si quieres reducir tus poros tienes que probar el producto “Dr. Brandt Pores no more” pore refiner. Este es mi preferido de todos. A veces hay días en que mis poros están más visibles en comparación a cuando tenía 20 años. Mi hija es maquillista y me recomendó este producto. Lo puedes encontrar en Sephora y es económico.
Sigo con otro de mis secretos de belleza preferidos. Hace años me di cuenta que las mujeres de Asia tienen una piel hermosa. Su secreto es que utilizan el agua de arroz para lavarse el rostro. Absorben el arroz en agua antes de cocinarlo por varias horas y usan esa misma agua con la sustancia del arroz para lavarse el rostro. El agua de arroz minimiza los poros, actúa como un tóner y mantiene la piel suave.
Lo que me encanta de este producto es que viene con un tinte claro que favorece el cutis y no reseca la piel. He usado varios productos para disimular los poros pero todos me resecaban la piel. Este es el mejor. Lo debes aplicar luego de lavar bien el rostro y aplicar tu bloqueador solar en las áreas donde se vean mucho los poros.
Personalmente, lo he usado como tóner en las noches antes de aplicar mis aceites y cremas naturales. El resultado es fantástico!
Las pestañas largas, saludables y gruesas están muy de moda pero es casi imposible lograr este look sin tener que usar pestañas falsas. Estoy feliz que encontré el rímel “X-Rated Mascara” de la marca Smashbox. Nuevamente, me lo recomendó mi hija que es maquillista profesional. Esta pestañita logra encrespar las pestañas todo el día, las alarga, las separa, define y no se forman grumos. Es una opción fantástica porque en vez de ponerte pestañas postizas que tumbaran tus pestañas, logras un look muy sensual y atractivo con X-Rated Mascara. I just cannot imagine how a person who loved their pet can dump them off in the Everglades instead of trying to find them a home or at the very least take them to the shelter or dump them off in Star Island or somewhere in a wealthy neighborhood. What about the lobby of Trump Plaza? Oops don’t mean to give any ideas or anything. Wag wag... The reason this is happening is because people think when they get a puppy that the puppy is not going to grow so big. We have been informed that many of the dogs being dumped in the Everglades, farms, fields in the Redlands etc., Bulldogs, Pitbull’s, Mastiffs, Mixed Pitbull/Boxers. The dogs are not getting spayed and neutered by people who live in low income areas and may not be educated. As a result of Dade County not addressing the problem people are dumping off pregnant dogs and dogs with puppies because it is too overwhelming for them. We need to post bilingual signs on the side of these roads directing to call 311 as well as to where people may take their dog. I would hate to be eaten by a Python or a Tegu Lizard let alone getting bit every living second by mosquitoes, fleas and ticks. Just kill me now just thinking about it, Woof Woof Whimper Whimper! Pythons and Tegu Lizards are also being dumped off. They are ferocious and eat puppies, kittens, baby bunnies, squirrels, birds etc. It should be a law to neuter and spay your pet in Dade County, the problem is enforcement. Recently my Mom has met Maggie through a Change.org petition https://www.change. org/p/save-abandoned-animals-in-the-floridaeverglades. This topic is her passion. It was in the news for a while however we haven’t heard much about it lately. We hope to bring it to the forefront again. There is a kind sincere soul we found upon our research whose organization is legitimate. “Chain of Love” born out of the heart and soul of Mirta Maltes who doubles as a law enforcement ranger in Everglades National Park. Mirta’s life in the Everglades has always been grounded in her love for all animals. Her gentle spirit and infinite compassion is the force behind the rescue of countless suffering animals who have found themselves abandoned, unwanted, homeless, abused and injured struggling to survive in the most remote and economically challenged terrain in Miami-Dade County. With the closest animal shelter 70 miles away, these locations witness an endless stream of unwanted dogs dumped by their “families” on the desolate roads. These communities do not have the resources to take care of or spay/neuter their pets which has led to free roaming animals everywhere with no end to the breeding of more unwanted animals. Mirta’s “Chain of Love” is one of the grassroots, boots on the ground rescues in the Everglades/Homestead/ Redlands areas. Boots on the ground is not used figuratively, Mirta literally wades through the acres of grasslands, farmlands, swamps and nurseries picking up beaten, starving, hopeless dogs and bringing them to safety. Chain of Love is ALL and ONLY about the animals. Chain of Love and its volunteers
focus on the needs of the animals. As with any rescue organization, resources are constantly depleted. These animals are found in the most appalling conditions. They have been hit by cars, shot with guns and forced to fight against their will. They have experienced the most unimaginable, inhumane and barbaric treatment, but when they are scooped up by the angels of this rescue, they receive everything they will ever want or need. Everyone on the team is a volunteer, donations are NOT used for anything but the care of the animals. Our mission is to give these suffering, precious creatures a second chance for a better life and a chance to be loved. The long term agenda is to raise both local and national awareness of the animal overpopulation in these isolated areas and to bring resources to spay/neuter in these remote and economically challenged areas. These special beings really are under “dogs”. They need us all. Chain of Love needs help HERE and NOW. Please be a link in the Chain of Love. We are all that they have.
