President Poser: This has been an interesting start to the semester, and we all have been paying attention. We have two big concerns, though there are many others. One is DEI, which is very important. We have a department for DEI, but it is within all of our jobs to support inclusion and belonging. Until someone tells me I am doing something illegal, we are just going to keep doing what we are doing. We may have to change some words, but we are not going to change what Hofstra is. We will offer the same services, and we will do what we need to do to serve our students. The second issue is immigration, and the question of what the government will be doing, whether or not they will be coming onto campuses. That is why the email was sent out a few days ago. Nassau county is deputizing their officers to be ICE agents, so we are paying attention and following the news very carefully. They are talking about dismantling the Department of Education, and I do believe that there will be changes soon that affect accreditation and financial aid. Having said that, things are going well at Hofstra and I am looking forward to the semester. We are pushing ahead on our strategic plan, especially adding interdisciplinary courses where multiple professors from various fields are in the classroom that count towards majors and Gen Ed courses. There’s more, but I’ll open it to questions.
