New Business a. Chair Vickers moves to open an unmoderated caucus for 15 mins i. Motion seconded. ii. Motion passed. b. WELCOME CSA!!! i. Senator Ehrlich: The commuter student association does different things. It's a place commuter students can go and feel safe, have someone to go to, and have an outlet. It is important because commuters at hofstra feel as if their needs are forgotten. Even though there is a good population who live here and a good population that commutes, all of our concerns are important. An example of a concern is the shuttle. To the Mineola Train Station, there is no shuttle service all day. Though there is a night shuttle that is really good, it stops at 10 am in the morning. Hempstead has a shuttle all day which is good because it is a busy station. Commuter students are working with public safety to increase public transportation. ii. Senator Finkelstein: The Mineola bus is so small, the solution is to send a follow-up shuttle. iii. Senator Ehrlich: P-safe has stated that they are sending an additional shuttle every day but I haven’t noticed any difference. I'm not sure if there is a miscommunication between public safety and the students. They did add a 7:40 am schedule, but not everyone can go on that shuttle. People are busy and have other commitments. We don't want our concerns to be forgotten. We are thankful for the great services that are provided to us. We are just asking for more support and to put ourselves in our shoes.
