Corruption Control in the European Union: Trends, Causes, Effects, and Recommendations Professor Mert Kartal, PhD, associate professor of political science at St. Lawrence University, will highlight recent trends in corruption and its control within the EU and its member states. He will explore some of the key causes and effects of corruption, alongside the mechanisms and strategies the EU uses to address it. The talk will also consider potential pathways for the EU’s future efforts and propose policy recommendations to strengthen corruption control across member states.
