Hello Commuters, Spring has finally sprung! We hope you are enjoying the beginning of spring. With warm weather rapidly approaching, that means more outdoor gatherings will be taking place. We understand that some of you are living in a house or an apartment in the local community, and we, the Office of Off-Campus Living and Commuting Student Services, have useful information geared to your specific needs in terms of how to be a good neighbor. Read on in this edition of the Commuter Pride Newsletter to find out how to be a good neighbor. You will also find out about events that going on in our office and around campus in this newsletter to get you fully engaged in the Hofstra community. Remember, we are here for you! Come to the Commuter Lounge located in room 221 of the Mack Student Center to allow us to assist you with any of your off-campus or commuting needs.

Events from our office: If you have a furry friend, be sure to show him or her off at our Fifth Annual Pet Parade on Sunday, May 4th 2014 Noon- 2 p.m. on the Outdoor Plaza, Mack Student Center, North Campus Bring your beloved dog or cat and them off with pride! We're looking for the most talented, best-looking, and best-behaved pets. Prizes will be awarded for the furry friends. Register with the Office of Off-Campus Living & Commuting Student Services in room 221 of the Mack Student Center.

If you are unsure as to when your garbage pick-up days are you can call the Town of Hempstead's Sanitation Department at (516) 378 - 4210 or visit: http://toh.li/content/cs/collection.html
We urge you to be considerate of your neighbors so that all may lead their daily lives without interference. Please refer to the Town of Hempstead's Unreasonable Noise outline below or visit us for more information. Residents are prohibited from: Using any radio apparatus, loudspeaker, public address system or similar device between the hours of 11 p.m. and 9 a.m., producing sound across a real property boundary.
