Happy Throwback Thursday! Today, we’re celebrating the opening of the Pocono Summit Health Center, which first welcomed patients in July 2022!
This milestone marked an important expansion of services to the Monroe County community, bringing together Primary Care, Pediatrics, Orthopedic Care, Physical Therapy, Imaging, Lab Services, and Care Now all in one convenient and comprehensive location, while addressing a long-standing need for health care services in Coolbaugh and Tobyhanna Townships
Prior to the opening of this facility, residents had to travel to Bartonsville or Tannersville for St Luke’s services, often facing long travel times The opening of this facility was intended to improve access to quality, affordable care, and reduce delays in treatment This facility filled a void and was part of a broader effort to keep our promises made of bringing healthcare services closer to home for the communities we serve
As we look back, the Pocono Summit Health Center continues to represent our commitment to meeting the health care needs for our Monroe County residents by growing alongside them and ensuring patients have the care they need, when and where they need it most.

Jefferson Health and Kalahari Resorts & Conventions Open New Calming Room at Pocono Mountains Location
The sensory-friendly space is designed to provide a quiet retreat for guests of all ages
To help create welcoming experiences for all families, a new calming room, developed in partnership with Jefferson Health, was opened at the Kalahari Resorts & Conventions facility in the Poconos.
Located on the lower level of the first floor inside the Big Game Room near the entrance to the Indoor Waterpark, the calming room is designed to provide guests with a quiet, supportive environment where they can take a break from the excitement and stimulation of the resort.
The room was thoughtfully designed and curated by renowned experts from Jefferson Health, spearheaded by Wendy Ross, MD. Opens in new tab., Director of the Center for Autism & Neurodiversity at Jefferson Health, to support children and individuals who may benefit from a sensory break during their visit. Features include comfortable seating, sensory water bubble tube lamps, interactive gel floor tiles, toys, dim lighting and soundproofing throughout the space to create a relaxing and restorative atmosphere.
