3.5 km/2 mi from Naple’s cruise terminal (40 minutes’ walk) so you could take a train to visit Pompeii. The Port of Beverello, from where you can get public ferries to Capri and Sorrento, is located within 10 minutes walking distance from the cruise terminal.

Naple’s city center is located within 10 minutes of walking distance from the cruise terminal; taxis are also available. The central train station is just over 3.5 km/2 mi from Naple’s cruise terminal (40 minutes’ walk) so you could take a train to visit Pompeii. The Port of Beverello, from where you can get public ferries to Capri and Sorrento, is located within 10 minutes walking distance from the cruise terminal.

The ride is approximately 9.5 miles/15 km (about 30-40 minutes each way depending on the berth and traffic). The drop off and pick up point for the paid shuttle bus is Calle Guadalaviar N.5. Tickets must be purchased directly at the pier, and the cost is €15 euros day pass per person, payable only with cash. The City Center Shuttle service departs approximately every 30 minutes and the last shuttle from the center to the ship will depart at 4:45 pm.

Situated along the sparkling shores the Tyrrhenian Sea, Messina is a charming port city in northeastern Sicily that seamlessly combines history, culture, and natural beauty. Renowned for its scenic maritime views and historic architecture, it provides a captivating glimpse into Sicily’s rich heritage. Whether marveling at the majestic Cathedral of Messina with its famous astronomical clock, exploring historic sites, or savoring fresh seafood by the waterfront, this small city offers an unforgettable Sicilian experience.

Please take into consideration that the shuttle operation is expected to be significantly active for the first 2.5 hours after arrival and from 2:30 pm till 4:45 pm when most of our guests return to the ship.

Villefranche is a tender cruise port where smaller local boats (tenders) transport guests from the ship to the shore. Tendering will start after the local authorities have cleared the ship. After disembarking from the tender boat, the train station is about a 10-minute walk away. Other public transport options like buses and taxis are also within walking distance of the port. For detailed information on the tendering process, please check the Tender Information letter that will be provided in your stateroom.

La Spezia (Florence/Pisa), Italy

La Spezia is a port that acts as a gateway to famous Italian places like Florence, Pisa, and Cinque Terre. Please note that guests cannot walk on the pier, so there is a free shuttle bus that goes from the pier to the Port Cruise Terminal entrance and back. This allows you to reach local transport to explore the city. Cannes is a tender port, where smaller local boats (tenders) transport guests from the cruise ship to the shore. It is famous for its glamorous film festival and stunning Mediterranean scenery. After disembarking from the tender, Cannes is accessible on foot. The Old Port (Vieux Port) is approximately a 1015 minute walk from the tender landing area, and Cannes’ train station is about a 20-minute walk. Other public transportation options, such as buses and taxis, are also within walking distance of the port. Walking to the Old Town? As you make your way to Le Suquet (Cannes’s Old Town) by foot, expect steep, winding, and cobbled streets, characteristic of the historic area.

Marseille (Provence), France

The ship docks at the Marseille Provence Cruise Terminal, where you have several options to reach the city center, approximately 8 km (4.2 mi) away. For your convenience, our Shore Excursion Team offers a shuttle service for $20 (per person, round trip) from the pier to Marseille City Center, with the drop-off point located in front of “La Major Cathedral.” You can purchase this service through the Royal App or at the Shore Excursions Desk on Deck 5. Additionally, port authorities provide a free shuttle bus. The starting point is at the exit of Gate 4, which is about a 7–10-minute walk from the ship. The drop-off and return point is at “Place de la Joliette,” located at the Terrasses du Port Shopping Center, at 9 Quai du Lazaret. Please be aware that there may be lines for this complimentary service, as it is very popular among cruise passengers. If you prefer, public buses are also available for a fee, making your trip as convenient as the free bus (routes 35T, 35, 36, 36B). Taxis may also be an option. The bus and taxi ride takes approximately 20-25 minutes, depending on traffic. While visiting Marseille City Center, please be cautious of local traffic, as this area can become congested during peak hours and on weekends. Plan your day accordingly.

Santa Margherita is a small exotic harbor that can be explored in a short time by visiting the main attractions, it has cobbled, and narrow streets flanked by medieval churches. It is located approximately 35 km / 22 mi from Genoa.

Due to the port infrastructure, it is required to use local and ship’s tenders to transfer the guests from the ship to shore. Using tenders is a lengthy process that may take up to 4 hours. Please keep in mind that events such as outbound vessels traffic, strong winds, heightened sea conditions and swells can significantly impact the tendering process. We anticipate considerably longer return wait times on the pier between 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Please refer to the Tender Information letter that will be delivered to your stateroom for detailed information on the tendering process.

After disembarking from the tender, Cannes is accessible on foot. The Old Port (Vieux Port) is approximately a 10-15 minute walk from the tender landing area, and Cannes’ train station is about a 20-minute walk. Other public transportation options, such as buses and taxis, are also within walking distance of the port. Walking to the Old Town? As you make your way to Le Suquet (Cannes’s Old Town) by foot, expect steep, winding, and cobbled streets, characteristic of the historic area.
