After 3:00 pm your Stateroom Attendant will be glad to take care of any stateroom specific requests, such as your bed configuration, opening the joining door and more.

SeaPass Account Hold Charge

You may notice a temporary hold of $99.75 on the credit card your SeaPass card is linked to. The hold is used to secure funds for anticipated onboard purchases and will be released at the end of the sailing once your final charges are settled.

Safe Disposal of Medical Needles

Our ship will be passing through an international time zone at 2:00 am Wednesday August 13, 2025. We’ll be switching our ship’s time to one hour forward. Please remember to set your watches and devices accordingly. When in doubt, check the app for the correct ship time.

In compliance with our Youth Evacuation Plan, children will be given colored wristbands that correspond with their muster stations. In the event of an emergency, Youth Staff will escort all children participating in Adventure Ocean activities to their muster stations for reunification with their parents/guardians.

Children’s Personal Flotation Devices (PFD)

For the safety and wellbeing of children, children’s swimming pool personal flotation devices are available free of charge at the pool deck areas. Personal flotation devices (PFDs) are for use onboard the Independence of the Seas and cannot be taken off the ship.

Animal Sighting Advisory

Occasionally, animals may find their way onboard our ships. For your safety, if you encounter any animals onboard, it is prohibited to interact with or touch them. We ask that you please report any sightings or encounters to any of our Officers or Crew.

ONBOARD EXPENSE ACCOUNT

Setting Up Your Account

If you did not set up an account during Online Check-In or during boarding in the cruise terminal, you can do so in the Royal App or at the Guest Services Desk on Deck 5. Onboard Expense Accounts can be set up with a credit card, a debit card, or cash. Our ships utilize a cashless system, so your SeaPass card will be the only way to make purchases while onboard. Please note that a temporary hold of $99.75 USD will be placed on your card to verify funds. Onboard purchases over $100 USD will generate additional holds. The hold will be released within 3 to 5 business days after your cruise ends, but can take up to 30 days, depending on your bank. You may add other guests to your expense account by visiting the Guest Services desk. A daily limit can be placed on arcade spending. All charges can be viewed in the Royal Caribbean App. Printed receipts will be provided for each onboard purchase, and a preliminary statement will be delivered to your stateroom on the last morning of your cruise. A ﬁnal statement will be e-mailed to you within 24 hours of departing the ship on the last day of your cruise. Guests on a cash account will need to settle their account at Guest Services prior to disembarking the ship.

Continental breakfast is complimentary. Both the All-Day Menu and American Breakfast will have a delivery fee of $7.95 USD plus an 18% gratuity for each order. How much are gratuities?

If not already pre-paid, an $18.50 USD gratuity ($21.00 USD for Suite guests) is added to each guest's onboard account daily to help recognize superior service from crew during your cruise. This gratuity is shared among dining & culinary services staff, stateroom attendants, and other hotel services teams working behind the scenes. In addition to daily gratuities, an 18% gratuity is automatically added to all beverage, mini bar items, specialty dining, and spa & salon purchases.

Hamburg, Germany Port Information

The ship will dock in the Hamburg’s newest cruise terminal that opened in 2025 - Cruise Center Hafencity. Café & souvenir shop available inside Westfield shopping mall which is connected to the Terminal. Guests can head to the city center by metro: U4 – Überseequartier station is a 3–5 minutes’ walk from the terminal and it’s only 2 stops to Hauptbahnhof (Central Station) or bus lines 111, 6, or 2 nearby (15-20 minutes travel). Taxis are readily available at the terminal on Level -2.

Local Port Agriculture Regulations

Our ship will be passing through an international time zone at 2:00 am Saturday August 16, 2025. We'll be switching our ship's time to one hour back. Please remember to set your watches and devices accordingly. When in doubt, check the app for the correct ship time.

The ship will dock in the Cruise Port Rotterdam, about a 25 minute walk from the cruise terminal to the city center Metrostation Beurs and a 30 minute walk to the Cube Houses and the Market hall. Alternatively, guests can choose to travel to the downtown by metro or tram, metro station and tram station, both are 500 meters away from the cruise terminal. Taxis are readily available at the terminal.

As part of the UK Government's mission to protect the food sector and farmers, there are new emergency rules to protect the country from the threat of foot and mouth disease (FMD). While FMD poses no threat to humans, it is a highly contagious livestock disease that could devastate farm businesses, food security and the wider economy. The UK Government have significantly stepped up bio–security measures to protect from the risk of a potential outbreak. Individuals found violating these rules by bringing food, plants and meat back from abroad could face severe penalties, including fines of up to £5,000 in England.

Dry Off and Drop Off

Don’t forget to return your pool towels back to the designated Towel Station when you’re done! A $25 replacement fee will be charged to your SeaPass card for each unreturned towel.
