SPOTLIGHT ON

PICKLE BALL & PANINIS Bring a friend and join our experienced Pickleball instructors on Friday, April 12th, from 11am to 1pm to learn to play this fun, fast paced game. Racquets and Balls provided. Please bring a chair for seating.

What is Pickle Ball and how do you play it? Pickleball was invented in the mid -1960s as a children's backyard pastime. It is a paddle sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a Wiffle Ball, over a net. The sport shares features of other racquet sports, the dimensions and layout of a badminton court, and a net and rules similar to tennis, with several modifications.

Registration required call 770.345.2990. This event is sponsored by Nature’s Corner Market and Canton Physical Therapy.

SMART PULSE

INFRARED THERAPY The natural, non-invasive and painless Infrared light therapy, also known as Low-Level Laser (LLLT) and photobiomodulation, is experienced by us as heat and is the invisible part of the sun’s light spectrum. Infrared light penetrates deep into your body (2-7cm) all the way to the inner layers of your skin, to your muscles, nerves, and bones. Infrared then boosts local blood circulation, which brings more healing nutrients and pain relieving components to the area, while promoting a detoxifying sweat.

SmartPulse is a non-invasive assessment of your cardiovascular system's health utilizing acclaimed pulse wave technology. The SmartPulse is an FDA, TGA and EU approved Class II Medical Device which evaluates arterial occlusion and arterial elasticity and stiffness which are closely related to Cardiovascular Disease. Arterial stiffness and arterial occlusion (blocking) are major cardiovascular risk factors. Free initial scan for Members!

LADIES NIGHT OUT MONDAY, APRIL 15TH | 7:00 PM AT THE TERRACE

Join Judy Rossi, PT and Pelvic Floor Therapist from Canton Physical Therapy and Sports Rehabilitation for the first topic in our Women’s Health Series, Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy. Registration required call 770.345.2990. Ladies, do you suffer from any of the following conditions? Leak when you sneeze, cough or try to perform certain exercises? Have a sense of urgency to urinate? Have painful bladder? Pain with intercourse? Incontinence of bladder or bowel? Bladder, bowel or vaginal prolapse? Learn how Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy can help you! The pelvic floor is a specific group of muscles attached to the base of the pelvis. These muscles are the foundation of our core and responsible for holding our organs (bladder, bowels, etc) in place. Women who are or who have been pregnant (no matter how long ago) could suffer bladder, bowel and or pelvic floor dysfunction. Physical therapy in this region can help you regain bladder/bowel control for better quality of life, decrease pelvic pain, improve core strength and avoid potential invasive procedures. DO NOT miss this one!! During this talk Judy will discuss the pelvic floor’s function, what pelvic dysfunction is, common symptoms, and participants will have an opportunity to speak with Judy to determine if physical therapy is appropriate. 770.345.5500

His playing partner Billy tells him he can not do that. Steve who is also playing in the group, comes over and says Harry can indeed move loose impediments in a hazard. Which player is correct? PRO UPDATE

by Denise Killeen

All that March rain should bring April Flowers right? The grass is getting greener and we are all ready to get out of the house and play some golf! As the Spring apparel rolls into the Golf Shop so have the new Drivers and Putters from many of our vendors. Please stop by and see what we have to offer in the pro shop. Currently we have in stock the Titleist TS series woods, the Ping G410, the TaylorMade M5 & M6, and Callaway the Epic Flash Drivers. Feel free to stop in the Golf Shop and check out one of our Demo drivers. You can also stop by the Georgia Golf Performance center on the Range to make an appointment for a fitting. Keep in mind we have Taylor Made coming back on May 3rd to do another fitting day. Call the Golf Shop for your chance to sign up for a time to get in with the Taylor Made Club techs on that day. April brings along with it the Masters. One of golf's most coveted events of the year. The MGA hosts their MGA MASTERS on April 27th and 28th. If you are a member and not an MGA member, please call the office to sign up if you want to play in their events. These events are a great way to meet other members and socialize through competitive golf. Member Guest 2019: May 16th-19th. Mark your calendars for this can’t-miss event. This golf tournament is meant for Golf Members and their guests to play 5 nine hole matches to compete to get into the Shoot Out at the end of play on Saturday. Our policy is to have our esteemed Golf Members invite their guests to join them for one of our finest events of the year. Currently we are on a wait list for the tournament, but we are taking sign ups for the opportunity to try and get into the event. Parent Junior golf tournament: April 20th at 5:00 pm. The weather in March was not conducive for great golf so we moved the start of the Parent Junior events to April. Please call the shop to sign up for this fun event. We will start the year with a Scramble format. Watch for Couples/Member Mixers, Friday May 3rd will be the Margarita Madness beginning of the year event. This is a 9 hole scramble format that is always a good time. You receive 3 different Margaritas while playing your 9 holes. Start time is 5:45 for this event. We ask that you no longer bring your personal coolers to BridgeMill, unless you plan on purchasing the drinks from the Half Way Café or Featherstone's. Our efforts to enforce this long time policy will be renewed as we go into APRIL of 2019. Thank you for your continued patronage and support of our efforts at the Club.

BRIDGEMILL SIXES SERVICE LEAGUE FUNDRAISERS, COMMUNITY SERVICE, & LOTS OF FUN STUFF

by Julie Rosenberg

Nicole Shippy and Samantha Kirkpatrick, and we can’t wait. This event is amazing way to raise money for the American Cancer Society and to honor cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against a disease that has already taken too much. Last year our team raised over $10,000.00! We would love for you to join us on that night and we would also love for you to donate towards this great cause. If you would like to donate, please visit our team page at: http://main.acsevents.org/goto/bssl2019. Spring is finally here and the BridgeMill Sixes Service League is busy with fundraisers, community service, and lots of fun stuff. We have meetings every month, except during June, July, and December. We meet on the third Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. We would love for you to join us and see what we are all about. Relay for Life will be on April 26th at E.T Booth Middle School. The event will start at 6:00 p.m. The theme this year is Carnival. We will have our BSSL team there once again, led by

We are excited to announce that we will be having our Golf FORE Charity Tournament once again this year. The tournament will be on June 07th. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. We would love for you to join us and play and we would also love if you would like to be a sponsor. Thank you to Wicked Wings for being our Title Sponsor, once again! We are also honored to have Frank Reynolds be our Honoree this year! Please go to our website to register to play and to sign up to be a sponsor: www.BSSLGolf.org. The Lexine Harper Community Service Textbook Scholarship deadline is April 18th. This scholarship program is dedicated to the memory of our friend and fellow BSSL member, Lexine Harper. We want to recognize exemplary seniors graduating from Cherokee County high schools who have committed themselves to service of others in the community. We will award two $1000.00 scholarships to qualified graduating students from Cherokee County. Please go to our website www.BSSL.org/scholarship to download the application. Our 5th annual Bunco Night on March 15th was a ton of fun while we raised money for our local charities. Thank you to all of you that came and supported a great cause. Thank you to Susan Gaines and Elaine Casey for chairing this wonderful evening, and thank you to the Bunco committee, and all of our volunteers to make this night a huge success. Our next meeting will be Thursday May 16th starting at 7pm. Contact our membership vice-president, Mary Wiechert at 404-431-3777 if you would like to attend or for more info.
