二零二六年香港藝術節隆重 舉 行,謹此致賀。
今年藝術節邁進第五十四屆,約 180 場演出涵蓋 音樂、戲曲、歌劇、戲劇、舞蹈、藝術科技及 其他表演藝術創作,精彩多元,引人矚目。
藝術節在二月二十七日以西班牙國家舞劇院著 名舞劇《美麗的奧蒂羅》揭開序幕,在舞台重 現巴黎黃金時代的歌舞昇平,別出心裁。三月 二十七日藝術節閉幕以大型舞劇《牡丹亭》為 壓軸演出,呈獻導演兼編舞黎星對經典愛情劇 目的嶄新演繹。今年的音樂節目陣容強大,匯 聚各傑出鋼琴家獻技,有年輕韓國天才鋼琴家 任奫燦,也有榮獲二零二五年范.克萊本國際 大賽金獎及觀 眾 大獎的本地鋼琴家沈靖韜,實 在不容錯過。
一如既往,藝術節包羅繽紛多彩的外展及教育 活動。今年的「加料節目」着重豐富藝術愛好 者的文化體驗,加深對世界級藝術家的認識, 對於啓發更多人參與藝術活動,以至鞏固香港 作為中外文化藝術交流中心的定位,極為重要。

I am pleased to congratulate the Hong Kong Arts Festival on the organisation of its 2026 season. This year’s Festival, the 54th edition, features some 180 performances, encompassing music, Chinese and Western opera, theatre, dance, arts technology and a dazzling variety of performing arts productions.
The Festival opens on 27 February with Ballet Nacional de España’s acclaimed operatic ballet La Bella Otero , recreating the glamour of Paris’ golden era on stage. The Festival concludes on 27 March with the large-scale dance theatre production DreaminThePeonyPavilion , directed and choreographed by Li Xing, injecting fresh life into the timeless love classic. This year’s music performances present a number of brilliant pianists, including young Korean piano sensation Yunchan Lim, and Hong Kong-born Aristo Sham, the gold medallist and audience award winner at the 2025 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition.
As ever, the Festival features a diverse range of outreach and educational activities. This year’s PLUS programme focuses on a wide cultural experience for arts lovers and deeper understanding of world-class artists, contributing to promoting engagement in cultural events and consolidating Hong Kong’s positioning as the East-meets-West centre for international cultural exchange.

A warm welcome to the 54th Hong Kong Arts Festival. As a leading international performing arts event, the Festival continues to uphold its mission of enriching our city’s cultural life and promoting the best of the performing arts to different sectors of our community. This year, the Festival brings to Hong Kong more than 1,100 distinguished local and international artists from a wide range of artistic disciplines in over 180 performances of more than 45 programmes, as well as about 300 “PLUS”, outreach and education events.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the HKSAR Government, acting through the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, for its annual subvention and matching grant. My heartfelt thanks also go out to The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, our corporate sponsors, charitable foundations and donors for their generous support. Their invaluable contributions empower us to actively advance the community through the performing arts.
My genuine appreciation goes to all our internationally renowned and most talented artists for their creativity and outstanding performances on stage. 第 54 屆香港藝術節雲集眾多大師級藝術家與傑 出團隊,帶來超過 180 場的音樂、舞蹈、戲劇、 歌劇、戲曲、藝術科技與跨界創作節目,展示藝 術家的精湛造詣。

The 54th Hong Kong Arts Festival once again brings together great masters and outstanding artists, presenting more than 180 performances across music, dance, theatre, opera, Chinese opera, arts-tech and interdisciplinary creations—showcasing the exceptional craft of leading local and international talent.
One of this year’s themes is an exploration of “Courage and Peace”. At a time when the world is troubled by war, displacement, economic downturns and other hardships, artists respond from their own distinctive perspectives and in their own languages on stage, reminding us of the need to be resilient and hopeful.
Some works in this year’s Festival adopt a minimalistic theatrical approach, enabling us to transcend the constraints of geography and resources. We also continue to embrace arts-tech, using mixed-reality technologies to open up new performance possibilities.
As always, the Festival presents more than 300 outreach and education activities. Our PLUS events feature a curated series of talks, masterclasses, backstage tours and guided cultural walks. Our comprehensive education initiatives tailored for primary, secondary and tertiary students are aimed at enabling students to gain a more in-depth understanding and appreciation of the works we present.

, launched in 1973, is a major international arts festival committed to enriching the cultural life of the city by presenting leading local and international artists in all genres of the as well as a diverse range of “PLUS” and in February and March each year.

Current Government annual baseline funding accounts for around 12% of the Festival's total income. The HKAF actively collaborates with Hong Kong’s own creative talent and showcases emerging local artists. Over the years, the HKAF has commissioned and produced over 250 local productions across genres including Cantonese opera, theatre, chamber opera, music and contemporary dance, many with successful subsequent runs in Hong Kong and overseas.

香港藝術節 一直大力投資 下一代的藝術教育。「青 少年之友」成立 33 年來,已為約 849,000 位本地中 學生及大專生提供藝術體驗活動。藝術節近年亦開 展多項針對大、中、小學生的藝術教育活動,包括 由國際及本地藝術家主持的示範講座及工作坊、學 生展演、演前講座、公開彩排、以及欣賞藝術節演 出。同時,通過「學生票捐助計劃」,藝術節每年提 供約 10,000 張半價學生票。

The HKAF frequently partners with renowned international artists and institutions to produce exceptional works, such as Der Fensterputzer (The Window Washer) co-produced with GoetheInstitut Hong Kong and Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch; Richard III and TheTempest produced by The Old Vic, BAM and Neal Street under “The Bridge Project” with the HKAF as a co-commissioning institution; Green Snake co-commissioned with Shanghai International Arts Festival; Dream of the Red Chamber coproduced with San Francisco Opera; Laila , a co-production with Finnish National Opera and Ballet, and 20,000LeaguesUndertheSea , co-produced with The Central Academy of Drama, China, and Compagnie Point Fixe.
The HKAF invests heavily in arts education for young people. Over the past 33 years, our “Young Friends” scheme has reached around 849,000 local secondary and tertiary school students. A variety of arts education projects serving primary, secondary and tertiary school students have been launched in recent years, featuring activities such as student showcases, pre-performance talks, open rehearsals, opportunities to attend Festival performances, as well as in-school workshops and lecture demonstrations led by international and local artists. Donations to the “Student Ticket Scheme” also make available approximately 10,000 halfprice student tickets each year.
The HKAF organises a diverse range of “Festival PLUS” activities in community locations each year to enhance engagement between artists and audiences. These include films, lecture demonstrations, masterclasses, workshops, symposia, backstage visits, exhibitions, meetthe-artist sessions and guided cultural tours.
The HKAF actively promotes inclusion via the arts to every corner of the community. The “No Limits” project, co-presented with The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, was launched in 2019. Through a series of performances and diverse arts experiences for students and the community, “No Limits” strives to create an inclusive space for people with different abilities to share the joy of the arts together.

Ticket holders are strongly advised to arrive punctually. The HKAF reserves the right to refuse the (a) admission of latecomers (whether at the beginning of the performance or after the intermission) and (b) re-admission of audience members who leave the auditorium during the performance.

The HKAF also reserves the right to determine the possibility of admission and re-admission of audience members (which includes latecomers and audience members who have left the auditorium and are seeking re-admission), as well as the manner in which they are admitted.

This is a contemporary re-working by Liyuan opera’s young inheritor team, drawing on the famed excerpt “Great Melancholy” from the ancient script Chen 關於《紅眠床》
In the stifling stillness of her chamber, alone on the bed, Huang Wuniang is trapped in memories of her lover, Chen San—over and over again, for centuries unending. Black-clad figures, symbolising the seven role types of Liyuan opera, drift into her depressed world like a stream of consciousness. As Wuniang reclines against the red wedding bed, they carry her back through the love she once shared with Chen San: lantern-lit shadows at the Lantern Festival, a lychee dream of summer, the mirror’s shimmering glow, the rituals of dressing, the umbrella left behind and a lingering glance, the tender devotion of an embroidered phoenix, and their flight into hills and waters… The figures in black are both the shadows cast by candlelight through the bed’s carvings and the dream-weavers of Wuniang’s realm of love. Yet when love reaches its end—past and present entwined, time looking back—like the eternal theme of human longing, everything begins again at the starting point…

《紅眠床》一劇前身——平行時空《陳三五 娘》於 2023 年蛇口戲劇節首演,並由 2025 年「海絲新空間∣戲劇孵化計劃」接力孵 化。該劇由梨園戲領軍人物、中國戲劇梅 花獎「二度梅」得主曾靜萍任藝術總監,曾 龍任導演,謝子丑整理劇本大綱,香港戲 曲創作人江駿傑任劇場構作,策展人水晶 以及香港藝術節任創作顧問。他們以傳統 表演疊加新的劇構手法,為經典名篇注入 現代氣息。

San and selected scenes from the East China version of ChenSanandWuniang. A thousand-year tradition shared across Fujian and Guangdong, its lycheeand-mirror melodies now find their way to Hong Kong. You are invited to lose yourself in its lingering classical charm and fashion-forward play of light and shadow.
Boasting a history that goes back 900 years, Liyuan opera is regarded as a “living fossil” of Nanxi (Southern opera). The prototype of the ChenSanandWuniang story can be traced back to the Southern Song dynasty; scripts of The TaleoftheLycheeMirror have been in circulation since the Ming dynasty, with the Fujian Province Liyuan Opera Inheritance Centre (formerly the Experimental Theatre of Liyuan Opera of Fujian) re-working the ancient ChenSan text into the edited ChenSanandWuniang in 1954. RedWedding Bed takes the famed soliloquy “Great Melancholy” to form its main plot, and interlaces the classic scenes “Watching the Lanterns”, “Throwing the Lychees”, “Polishing the Mirror” and “Grasping at the Umbrella” into its story, weaving between the two scripts.
Previously known as ParallelTimeandSpaceinthe opera“ChenSanandWuniang”, RedWeddingBed premiered at the 2023 Shekou Theatre Festival, and was further developed under the 2025 Maritime Silk Road New Space Theatre Incubation Programme. The production is spearheaded by a leading figure in Liyuan opera and two-time Plum Blossom Award winner, Zeng Jingping, as Artistic Director; Zeng Long as Director; and Xie Zichou, who created the script outline. With Hong Kong Cantonese opera artist Jason Kong as Dramaturge, and curator Crystal Deng as well as the Hong Kong Arts Festival as Creative Advisors, the classic title returns with a fresh breath of modernity by layering new staging onto the classic performance.

南宋,泉州才子陳三因送哥嫂廣南赴任, 在潮州燈市與佳人黃五娘一見傾心。五娘 從繡樓上拋下包裹了荔枝的手帕表達情 意,陳三喬裝成磨鏡師傅,故意打破寶 鏡,賣身入黃家為奴賠鏡,追求五娘。在 婢女益春的撮合下,二人經過〈梳妝〉、 〈留傘〉等周折,終於在〈繡鸞〉中訂下荔 鏡姻盟。
劣紳林大逼娶五娘,陳三欲帶五娘、益春 逃奔泉州,不料卻被官府捉回,陳三判處 流放崖州。途中幸遇升職調任的兄長,陳 三得以平反,與五娘有情人終成眷屬。

During the Southern Song dynasty, Chen San, a talented scholar from Quanzhou, is accompanying his elder brother and sister-in-law as they depart for a new official post in Guangnan. At the lantern festival fair in Chaozhou, he lays eyes on the graceful Huang Wuniang, and the two fall in love at first sight. From her embroidery tower, Wuniang throws down some lychees wrapped in a handkerchief to express her affection. To win her heart, Chen San disguises himself as a mirror polisher, deliberately breaks a treasured mirror and sells himself into servitude at the Huang household to repay the debt. With the help of the maid Yichun, the lovers go through a series of encounters, from “The Ablutions” to “Grasping at the Umbrella”, before finally pledging themselves to each other in the scene “Embroidering the Phoenix”, sealing their love with the lychees and the mirror.
However, the dissolute gentryman Lin Da tries to force Wuniang into marriage. Chen San attempts to flee with Wuniang and Yichun back to Quanzhou, but they are captured and Chen San is sentenced to exile in Yazhou. As Chen San journeys towards exile, he serendipitously meets his elder brother, a newly promoted official. With his brother's intervention, Chen San is exonerated of all charges, allowing the couple to finally reunite.
ChenSanandWuniang, a legendary love story passed down from generation to generation, is familiar to every household across the Southern Fujian-dialect-speaking regions. It is also one of the signature traditional plays of the Xiaoliyuan (“Pear Garden Junior Troupes”) school of Liyuan opera. Originally titled Chen San, it belongs to the early Ming dynasty’s ancient Nanxi (Southern opera) tradition. During the Jiajing reign, more than 400 years ago, the play The Tale of the LycheeMirror was already in print. This timeless tale has now been performed and cherished throughout the region for more than six centuries.

1953 年,福建省梨園戲傳承中心(前身為福 建省梨園戲實驗劇團)成立,《陳三五娘》 是其第一齣進行搶救整理的傳統戲。1954
年,根據《陳三》古本整理濃縮為十場的 《陳三五娘》代表梨園戲參加上海華東戲 曲會演,榮獲多項金獎。偏居東南海隅的 「宋元南戲活化石」梨園戲,一舉蜚聲海內 外。1958 年,上海天馬電影製片廠將之拍 攝為戲曲電影,該劇遂躋身中國最早一批 的彩色電影作品,風靡大江南北。
2000 年,著名梨園戲表演藝術家曾靜萍 向小梨園出身的資深藝人蔡秀英學習〈小 悶〉、〈大悶〉兩齣折子戲,自此開啟了長達 二十多年的古本《陳三》搶救傳承工程。經 過 1956 級、1957 級、1977 級、1997 級、2007 級等數輩梨園戲傳承人的堅守與賡續,該古 本百分之九十以上的篇幅得以復原,再現了 古代小梨園「七子班」演繹「才子佳人」的 風采,將這份纏綿、細膩、典雅、規範、綺 麗的古色古香帶到當下。
The extant ancient edition of the play comprises 22 scenes, including “Seeing Off the Brother and Sister-in-law”, “Watching the Lanterns”, “Singing in Reply”, “Throwing the Lychees”, “Polishing the Mirror”, “In the Rear Garden”, “Admiring Flowers”, “Carrying a Basin of Water”, “Grasping at the Umbrella”, “Embroidering the Phoenix”, “Secret Tryst”, “Hairpin of Blossoms”, “Elopement”, “The Constable’s Arrest”, “The Trial of Chen San”, “Visiting the Prison”, “Departure for Exile”, “Light Melancholy”, “Great Melancholy”, “The Rescue”, “Meeting the Brother” and “Proposal of Marriage”. Most of these are celebrated surviving scenes, orally transmitted by the renowned master Cai Youben of the “seven role types” troupe of the Xiaoliyuan school. They retain many of the ancient artistic features of the Nanxi tradition that hold great value as intangible cultural heritage.
In 1953, the Fujian Province Liyuan Opera Inheritance Centre (formerly the Experimental Theatre of Liyuan Opera of Fujian) was established, and ChenSanandWuniang became the first traditional play to undergo restoration and preservation. In 1954, a condensed 10-scene version based on the ancient script of Chen San was produced under the title Chen San andWuniang. Representing Liyuan opera, it participated in the East China Opera Festival in Shanghai and won multiple gold awards. Liyuan opera, known as a “living fossil of Southern opera from the Song and Yuan dynasties” from the southeastern coast, rose to national and international fame almost overnight. In 1958, the Tianma Film Studio in Shanghai adapted the play into an opera film, one of China’s earliest colour film productions, and it became immensely popular nationwide.
Since 2000, renowned Liyuan opera artist Zeng Jingping has studied the excerpts “Light Melancholy” and “Great Melancholy” from Chen San under the veteran performer Cai Xiuying, a celebrated master from the Xiaoliyuan school. This marked the beginning of a restoration project that has lasted for more than two decades, devoted to reviving and preserving the ancient version of Chen San. varied: Chen San’s romantic charm and easy grace, Huang Wuniang’s refined elegance, Yichun’s wit and agility, Lin Da’s absurd humour, Sister Li’s shrewd, streetwise vivacity, Huang Jiulang’s composed authority and Xiao Qi’s simple, comical warmth, each leaving a vivid impression. The stylised performance techniques, such as the “18step movement” and the “four-corner step”, are exquisitely codified, vivid in form and strikingly individual, showcasing the distinctive refinement of the Liyuan opera tradition.
On the small, raised platform of the goulan stage (a courtyard framed by railings), a single long bench defines the performance space: a realm of song and dance infused with poetic expression and steeped in the aesthetic spirit of classical Chinese opera.
The ancient qupai-style music is graceful and melodious, filled with mellifluous tones. Closely following the unfolding of characters and plot, it retains numerous melodies enriched by the tonal character of the Chaozhou tradition. More than 100 celebrated tunes, such as “First Meeting the Fairy Maiden”, “Leisurely Wandering”, “Missing My Beloved”, “Seeing Off the Brother and Sister-inlaw”, “Embroidering the Lonely Phoenix”, “A Fated Encounter Across a Thousand Miles”, “Making a Vow”, “Solitary Sorrow”, “Outside the Gauze Window” and “Drums at the Third Watch” are still widely sung among the Southern Fujian-dialectspeaking communities today, forming a shared cultural memory between Fujian and Guangdong. This is a story about Liyuan opera, about Chen SanandWuniang, about “Great Melancholy”, about love, and about legacy. It is an adventure that demanded meticulous treatment, as though standing on the shoulders of a giant. During production, we had to be as creatively bold as Chen San was consumed by passion, and to suffer as painfully as Wuniang poured her soul into love. Each of us became Yichun, exhausting every effort to synthesise the perfect concoction of tradition and creation.
This is not just a play, but a romantic portrait of a community that grows, believes, trusts and supports each other. Classic titles, traditional melodies, time-honoured basic directions, five generations of heritage; old fillings with new casings. I do not see this as an attempt at innovation, but instead as a new generation looking back at tradition. We are children of Liyuan opera, making strides from the harbours of Quanzhou, sticking to our roots, continuing the 800-year legacy of Song and Yuan heritage, speaking the truth of Liyuan opera that belongs to our generation.

泉州的茶很清香,每次與導演曾龍見面, 都要先坐到他擺滿《海賊王》手辦的茶桌 前,拋開工作,且飲且聊,這正是我們於 《紅眠床》合作的起點。
曾龍很靈動,雖出身梨園戲世家,卻總 渴望闖出去,帶領梨園戲衝出邊界。《陳 三五娘》實驗版本幾度演出也有突破,今 天終於來到香港,我亦有幸能在此留下一 道閃光。
沉浸在劇團,才能真正體會梨園戲面對的 挑戰:看戲的,是把它當作博物館的文物 來看?還是當作活物來看?演戲的,又怎 樣代入古人?抑或將古人帶到今天?學戲 的,是學規矩來框死自己?還是在規矩中 活出真正的自由?
傳統梨園戲,沒有戲台,只有勾欄。勾欄 外往往是富貴人家的庭院中央,是「堂會」 形式的演出。演區空間有限,故此伶人不
穿水䄂,反而做手和腳步尤為精細、講 究!
今天梨園戲劇團的每一位,都將生命投入 了戲中,這令我尤其感動。勾欄一框下 去,戲就要做下去。勾欄內如此,勾欄外 又何嘗不是?

The tea of Quanzhou is known for its fresh fragrance—every time I meet Director Zeng Long, we make a habit of settling down at his table piled with OnePiece figures and setting work aside to drink tea and talk. This happens to be the exact starting point of our RedWeddingBed collaboration.
Zeng Long is lively and bright; he descends from a long line of Liyuan opera traditions yet has a thirst for adventure: an ambition to push Liyuan opera beyond its traditional boundaries. After several runs, this experimental edition of Chen San and Wuniang has finally arrived in Hong Kong, and I am honoured to make a mark here.
I only felt the challenges that Liyuan opera faces once fully immersed in the troupe: do those who watch it see it as a relic in a museum? Or as a living entity? How do those who act it empathise with historical figures? Or do they situate them in today’s world? And do those who learn it confine themselves within the rules? Or do they live out true freedom within the confines?
There is no stage, only railings known as goulan, a traditional railed performance space, within traditional Liyuan opera. More often than not, outside the goulan is the centre courtyard of the wealthy, hall performance (tanghui), staged for private gatherings. Inside this limited performance space, the actors perfect every movement and every step is detailed and precise.
What has particularly touched me is how each and every member of the Liyuan opera troupe invests everything into the craft. As long as the goulan is set, the show has to go on. If one must act within the goulan, why should it be any different beyond it?

福建省梨園戲傳承中心,前稱福建省梨園 戲實驗劇團,是有「宋元南戲活化石」之 稱的梨園戲碩果僅存的「天下第一團」。
劇團於1953年經文化部批准成立,七十年 薪火傳承不輟,「返本」地搶救傳承了《陳 三五娘》、《朱文》、《朱買臣》等優秀傳 統劇目;又「開新」地創作了《節婦吟》、 《董生與李氏》、《陳仲子》等具影響力的 新編經典劇目。
劇團佳作名作迭出,榮譽嘉獎不斷。《董 生與李氏》獲首屆曹禺戲劇文學獎、200304年度國家舞台藝術精品工程「十大精品 劇目」、文化部第二屆優秀保留劇目大獎; 《節婦吟》獲首屆中國戲劇節優秀演出獎、 第四屆全國優秀劇本創作獎、2005-06年 度國家舞台藝術精品工程初選劇目;《皂 隸與女賊》獲第九屆文華新劇目獎。
劇團更培育了多位藝術名家,包括曹禺戲 劇文學獎得獎劇作家王仁杰、「二度梅」兼 「文華表演獎」得主曾靜萍等。
The Fujian Province Liyuan Opera Inheritance Centre (formerly the Liyuan Opera Experimental Troupe of Fujian Province) is the only surviving troupe performing Liyuan opera, a genre known as the “living fossil” of the Song and Yuan dynasties. Established with the approval of the Chinese Ministry of Culture in 1953, it has not strayed from its roots for seven decades, revitalising and re-running classic titles such as ChenSanandWuniang, Zhu Wen and Zhu Maichen, as well as breaking new ground by creating influential new works such as Lament of the MelancholyWidow, The Scholar and the Widow, and ChenZhongzi.
The Scholar and the Widow was awarded with the first Cao Yu Drama Literature Award and the Ministry of Culture second Outstanding Heritage Programme Award, and it was included on the Ministry of Culture’s 2003-04 National Theatrical Art Excellence Project’s shortlist of Ten Classic Works; while Lament oftheMelancholyWidow was recognised with the first Outstanding Performance Award at the China Theatre Festival, the fourth National Outstanding Screenwriting Award and the Ministry of Culture’s 2005-06 National Theatrical Art Excellence Project’s First Pick Programme. The Soldier and the Thief received the ninth Wenhua New Repertoire Award.
The troupe has produced many renowned artists, including the Cao Yu Drama Literature Award recipient, writer Wang Renjie, and Zeng Jingping, a winner of the Plum Blossom Award (twice) and the Wenhua Performing Arts Award.

曾榮獲文化藝術政府獎「文華表演獎」、中國戲劇梅 花獎「二度梅」、上海戲劇表演藝術「白玉蘭」主角 獎等榮譽。
從藝四十多年來,曾靜萍搶救了幾十個梨園戲傳統 劇碼,為恢復古本及創排新編戲傾注了大量心血。
培養了三代梨園戲新生代傳承人百餘名。她的演員 代表作包括:梨園戲傳統劇目《陳三五娘》、《朱文》 等;梨園戲新編劇目《節婦吟》、《董生與李氏》等; 導演代表作包括梨園戲新編劇目《節婦吟》、《御碑 亭》等。

Zeng Jingping specialises in dan (female) roles and was a successor in the Liyuan class of 1977. A national First-Class actress and National Intangible Cultural Heritage representative bearer of Liyuan opera, she has been honoured with the Wenhua Performing Arts Award, twotime Plum Blossom Award and the Shanghai Magnolia Award for Lead Actor.
Boasting a career that spans more than four decades, she has revived dozens of traditional Liyuan opera works, as well as produced new scripts. She has also nurtured more than 100 newgeneration successors across three generations. Her repertoire as an actress includes the classic Liyuan opera ChenSanandWuniang and Zhu Wen; and the new productions Lament of the MelancholyWidow and The Scholar and the Widow. She has also directed several new titles such as LamentoftheMelancholyWidow and The ImperialStelePavilion.

Lin Xiaowei
Lin Xiaowei is the Secretary of the Fujian Province Liyuan Opera Inheritance Centre and a successor in the Liyuan class of 1997, specialising in mo (old man) and chou (small painted face) roles. He further pursued his studies in stage management at the Shanghai Theatre Academy. Lin was recognised for his outstanding service and preparatory performance at the ninth BRICS Summit.
Some of his notable works as an actor include Liyuan opera works such as Chen San and Zhu Maichen. He served as Stage Director for modern Liyuan productions including the French edition of LamentoftheMelancholyWidow and The ImperialStelePavilion.

曾龍是福建省梨園戲傳承中心青年導演,畢業於中 央戲劇學院表演系。他的表演代表作有:話劇《哈姆 雷特》、《世阿彌》、《雷雨》,電影《激浪青春》,電 視劇《槍炮侯》、《後媽的春天》等。

Zeng Long is a young director with the Fujian Province Liyuan Opera Inheritance Centre and a graduate of the Central Academy of Drama Department of Acting. As a performer, his notable works include the plays Hamlet, Zeami and Thunderstorm, the film BreakingtheWaves, and television series such as Guns Hou and Stepmother’sSpring
As a director, he has helmed new Liyuan opera productions including TheImperialStelePavilion, Li Shishi, ChenZhongzi, MotherNi’sParenting and ChenSanandWuniangParallelSpace2:Great MelancholyCyberpunk, as well as the new Yue opera production SpringDownpours. Zeng has also directed major galas, including the Opening Ceremonies of the National Southern Opera Showcase on three occasions and the second National Little Theatre Excellent Drama Showcase Opening Ceremony.

Script Outline Xie Zichou
As a writer at the Fujian Province Liyuan Opera Inheritance Centre, Xie Zichou has created works such as DingLanServingWoodenStatueofhis Parents, CelebratingtheEmpressDowager’s Birthday, MotherNi’sParenting and other new Liyuan productions. He was awarded the first prize for scriptwriting at the 25th Fujian Drama Showcase and the 32nd Tianhan Drama Awards.

劇場構作 江駿傑
江駿傑是香港戲曲表演藝術創作 人,他自九歲起接受全面傳統戲 曲訓練,曾拜杜國威、羅懷臻 等多位名家為師學習編劇。2012 年,江駿傑獲香港藝術發展獎 「藝術新秀獎(戲曲)」。他近年 專注劇本及音樂創作,尤其熱衷 新創廣東南音說唱及說書。2021 年,他開設 YouTube 頻道「水馬 人會館」推廣粵劇。
Jason Kong is a Cantonese opera performer and creator. His interest in Cantonese opera began in his childhood and he has received comprehensive traditional opera training since age of nine. As a playwright, he was mentored by masters including Raymond To and Luo Huaizhen. He received the Award for Young Artist (Chinese Opera) of Hong Kong Arts Development Awards in 2012. He now focuses on scriptwriting and composition, with a particular focus on new namyum storytelling, and promotes Cantonese opera through his YouTube channel, Aphros Studio.

Crystal Deng
Crystal Deng is a creative advisor with doctorates in Finance and Sociology. Deng co-founded the Chinese University Students Drama Festival and the original Beibingmasi Theatre in Beijing. She is an influential contemporary scholar, critic and producer who has served as a guest lecturer at the Institute for Cultural Industries at Peking University, and a judge for the Shekou Theatre Festival since 2022. She has also served as an international industry consultant for the 2023 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Overseeing lighting design at the Fujian Province Liyuan Opera Inheritance Centre, Su Zhiqiang has produced lighting design and multimedia video design for various Liyuan opera productions; his work spanning Liyuan traditional titles, new productions, immersive theatre performances, immersive virtual performances and music concerts. The Hong Kong Arts Festival is a non-profit organisation. Income from ticket sales and government baseline funding can only partially cover the Festival’s costs for presenting and promoting the best performing arts from around the world. The Festival can only continue its work thanks to the generous support of its donors. Please support the Festival Donation Scheme so we can continue to present world-class international and local artists as well as offering diverse outreach and education activities.
The Hong Kong Arts Festival is a recipient of the HKSAR Government’s Art Development Matching Grants Scheme. Part of the Festival’s sponsorship and donation income will benefit from a dollar-for-dollar match by the Government.* Donations of any amount will make a difference, and are greatly appreciated!
