DearFRIENDS,

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to our 2nd Annual Brangus Production Event in Desdemona, Texas. We have worked diligently to create an offering that we are very proud of. At GKB Cattle, we aim to always be progressive, and produce the best product for our customers, and we feel as though we have done that this year.

The foundation of our herd is built upon years of proven cow families. We strive to further these genetics with functionality, soundness, & maternal strengths being at the forefront for every breeding decision. We are very proud of the cattle that make up this offering, as the quality runs deep. We are very excited about this set of cattle, their future, and the next generation that is hitting the ground.

Our program is geared towards producing cattle that are profitable for the entire industry. We have an extensive ET and AI program that gives us the ability to be very selective with our matings, enabling us to continue to produce superior genetics. We also utilize individual performance records, ultrasound data, and Genomic Enhanced EPDs (GE-EPDs) on our cattle to ensure what we offer is something we can stand behind. We put a large emphasis on producing females with style and balance and bulls that will add pounds and performance.

We hope you will join us on December 6th at our 2nd Annual Brangus Production Event. The Sale will be broadcasted on DVauction.com for those of you that are unable to attend in person. We truly believe that the individuals in this offering have a ton of potential to be a true impact and influence within the Brangus breed. Your success is our success!

We want to also thank all of our customers for their continued support, as we wouldn’t be able to do this without them. We are looking forward to seeing you in Desdemona on December 6, 2025.

THE IDEA

A unique approach to genetic excellence, our program can be summed up in one word… BALANCE. No fads, no extremes. We’ve trained our eye to select cattle that will excel in any environment and look good while doing it.

At GKB, a balanced approach is what we believe will be the most rewarding for you, our valued customer. It’s no secret that we are in the show cattle business. That’s part of how we market the GKB program and we enjoy breeding cattle with elite phenotype. Those traits we are breeding for in our show cattle translate seamlessly into the kind of cattle we know will thrive in our pastures and yours. We strive to produce cattle with elite functionality without focusing solely on a set of data points and rankings. We continuously study the industry, both from the rancher’s perspective and the end product alike. By that, we are working tirelessly to develop a cow base where longevity and fertility are at the forefront of our mating decisions. Fertile cows must look like cows. The philosophy we use to breed banner hanging females is the same one we use when selecting replacements for our cow herd. Females must be angular fronted and stand on a perfect foot with the right amount of leg set. Along with a perfect udder, she must have lateral dimension, be bold in her forerib and wide in her pins. A pretty face is also a must. Once we have a cow herd like that, the rest might come just a little easier. These kinds of cows will raise replacement daughters and masculine sons that will excel in performance, regardless of the environment they’re in. We’ve also worked to clean their underlines up enough to maintain breed character and not cause an issue in the brush or palmettos. Though we pride ourselves on clean and improved pastures, like you, we have some rougher country, so keeping a tighter sheath on our bulls is important.

All of the bulls and females selling in this offering have been born and raised in Desdemona, Texas. We are in these cattle from daylight to dark every day. We know each animal’s strengths and what we need to improve upon, it’s what we do. We take great pride in the fact that we can build the kind of cow base we think will make our customers the most profit. We also enjoy watching these bulls grow, develop, and mature right in front of us. It allows us to better identify the flaws and weaknesses in our program, in real time, so that we can correct our mistakes, before we offer them to you, our valued customer. Come early and see the cow herd, take a walk through the show barn, see the sires and dams represented in this offering, and know that we have taken the guess work out of buying Brangus genetics.

HERD HEALTH

All animals selling in this sale have been vaccinated according to our comprehensive herd health plan which we have designed with the help of our veterinarian.

• At roughly 45 days of age, each calf born at GKB will receive an Intranasal vaccine and DNA collected.

• At 4.5 – 5 months of age, each calf will receive their first round of immunization with a killed viral vaccine, clostridial vaccine, vitamin/mineral injection and dewormed.

• At 5.5 – 6 months of age, each calf will be given a booster with a killed viral vaccine, clostridial vaccine, administered a Pasteurella vaccine, vitamin/mineral injection and dewormed.

• At weaning, we use FerAppease and an autogenous Bacterin pink-eye vaccine with a booster 2-3 weeks later.

• At 60 days prior to the breeding season, virgin females and bulls will be given a killed viral vaccine with lepto and vibrio, clostridial vaccine, vitamin/mineral injection and dewormed

• At 30-45 days prior to the breeding season, a booster will be given along with their annual pink-eye vaccine booster.

• All mature cows and bulls are vaccinated annually with a killed viral vaccine plus VL5HB, clostridial vaccine, vitamin/mineral injection and dewormed along with fly control.

BREEDING GUARANTEE

All bulls offered in this sale have passed a breeding soundness exam performed by Dr. Gary Warner with Elgin Veterinary Hospital. Each bull selling has also been tested for Trichomoniasis and will be accompanied with a health certificate for interstate travel. Please note that some states may require additional testing before bulls are allowed entry and may present some delay in delivery. All bulls are believed to be breeders and are sold as such. The breeding guarantee covers the first six months of new ownership, provided the bull is properly handled and cared for by the purchaser. Any bull failing to breed after six months from the date of purchase may be returned to GKB Cattle in satisfactory condition and at the purchaser’s expense. A letter of veterinary inspection is required of the purchaser stating the clinical reason for returning any bull to GKB Cattle. The seller reserves the right to try said bull for a six-month trial, and if he proves a breeder, will be returned at the buyer’s expense with no further guarantee. If said bull proves a non-breeder during this six-month trial, the bull will be replaced with equal and like value. If a replacement bull is not available, a credit will be issued for a future GKB Cattle sale at the purchaser’s price minus salvage value of the bull. Salvage value must be submitted to GKB Cattle in writing, prior to use of credit. GKB Cattle is not liable for bulls lost due to illness, injury, or death. Bred heifers have been ultrasound pregnancy checked by a licensed veterinarian. If in the event a bred heifer does not have a calf, GKB Cattle will offer a sale credit or a replacement female. Show heifer prospects sell with no breeding guarantee unless they are enrolled in the GKB Cattle S.H.O. Program.

BULL DEVELOPMENT

We take great pride in developing our bulls on the ranch at GKB Cattle.  Our bull test traps are long and on some of our most rugged terrain to ensure the bulls can move about and get the right amount of exercise.  From weaning to yearling, we hand feed daily, our own custom mixed bull test ration, not too hot, and not too fast.  We monitor intake and increase the pounds per head on 3–4-week intervals.  We start the bulls off at 10lbs/hd/day and generally finish them around 25lbs/hd/day at yearling time.  From yearling data collection until sale time, the bulls are transitioned to a high roughage, silage ration in big pastures.  We feel that keeping our bulls in an “athletic tone” as they mature, insures structural and hoof soundness, longevity and ease of adaptability to their new environments once you get them home.

HEIFER DEVELOPMENT

Much like our bull development, our females are hand fed daily from weaning to yearling roughly 1% of their body weight.  We feel that growing our females slowly allows for increased fertility and overall longevity.  Our heifer developer ration is like our bull ration with less starch and more fiber.  We keep the heifers on this ration through the breeding season and then expect them to forage through the summer and fall with minimum supplementation. Sale females will receive the same high rough silage ration as our sale bulls, beginning in September through sale time.  Show heifer prospects have been on a fitting ration with the same “slower is better” logic as their replacement counterparts.

S.H.O. PROGRAM

Each Show Heifer Prospect is eligible for our Show Heifer Opportunity Program (S.H.O.). Heifers will stay in the GKB Cattle show barn and be cared for through two opportunity dates of (1.) 2026 Houston Livestock Show or (2.) 2026 National Jr. Brangus Show and Futurity in Chickasha, OK. All purchasers planning on participating in the S.H.O. program will sign a contract on sale day which will detail all costs and expectations associated with this program, along with expected date of delivery. Contracts will be available, prior to the auction, for your review. Please contact one of the sales representatives to request a copy of the S.H.O. contract.

PARENT VERIFICATION &

GENOMIC ENHANCED EPDs (GE-EPDs)

Unless otherwise stated in this catalog, on the supplement sheet or from the sale block, all animals selling have been fully Parent Verified. All animals also sell with GE-EPDs.

Last year, seven Unmatched daughters passed through the ring here in December and averaged over $20,000. Her look and striking design have a place in any program that enjoys riding the pasture on Sunday morning and looking at quality livestock. There’s only one fall yearling in the offering, but we brought one we think really moves the needle. Two maternal sisters to this female collectively brought $50,000 in last year’s sale. Her dam was named 2021 Supreme American Junior female at the San Antonio Stock Show. Her sire is a full sib to the Brooklyn female who was campaigned by Maddox Hartman and notably hung her fair share of banners. The pedigree has plenty of purple bred into it.

DDD Wallstreet 150C SIRE OF LOT 22

Tell me if you’ve heard this one before… Wall Street on the 38 female. It would be hard to write a more proven pedigree than you’ll find here. She is massive bodied and still unique through her front third. There is no doubt this one shows at the highest level but we think her greatest value is in her production potential.
