a high-quality practitioner grade multinutrient may be beneficial for the majority ”

Not five different products. Possibly one well formulated one

“There is no simple rule of thumb,” she adds “Each individual will have specific requirements based on their health status ”

The risk of doubling up One of the most common issues both practitioners see is duplication

“I can’t tell you the number of cases where oversupplementation of certain nutrients was evident,” says Samantha, “particularly where several ‘multi’ formulations are taken at the same time ”

A multivitamin may already contain vitamin D and B vitamins. Add an immune blend or a hair formula and you may be stacking the same nutrients without realising

Life on Oakfield Road has proved just as appealing as the property itself “There’s a genuine sense of community here,” they say “We are very grateful to our neighbours who really look out for each other and offer catsitting, plant clippings, taking in deliveries and anything else you could possibly need.” The location also makes everyday living wonderfully easy Within minutes, they can meet friends at Bonne Route, enjoy a drink at the beloved pubs The Faltering Fullback or The Robin, or start the morning at But First Coffee. And when the craving strikes, “ you ’ re also close to the best Turkish food in London on Green Lanes ”

Inside, the home’s thoughtful layout plays a big role in how they live “The flat has been very cleverly fitted with amazing amounts of storage,” they explain. “It’s incredibly useful having a separate utility for a washer and dryer It means the open-plan kitchen and living room has a real sense of space and flow for socialising rather than being cluttered with appliances ”

When it comes to favourite spots, one room stands out “The upstairs ensuite bathroom is a gorgeous relaxing space rather than an afterthought,” they say “The doors opening into it, the tiles, the roll-top bath, the way the light falls through the skylight – it all feels rather luxurious for North London ” And then there’s the garden. “There’s a very old fig tree that supplies us with fig jam every year, ” they add “It’s a little tradition now

For Leyla, a theme is not about obvious decorative statements It is about mood “A theme should be felt through colour palette, proportions, materials and overall atmosphere, not through theme-driven pieces ” When done well, the result feels timeless rather than staged

Similarly, Tatiana Lang of Design Your Space treats a theme as inspiration, not a formula “The aim is to capture the essence of what you love rather than recreate a look literally,” she says When proportion, colour harmony and real-life living are prioritised, the result feels authentic rather than contrived

Build the Feeling, Not the Set

One of Leyla’s key design principles is to shift your thinking. Instead of asking, what décor fits this theme, ask how should this room feel?

Calm Cosy Light-filled Dramatic

Once you define the feeling, build it through light, materials and space, not novelty accessories. A coastal room does not need shells and anchors It might simply rely on a breezy palette, natural textures and soft, diffused light

Tatiana agrees that subtlety is everything She lets colour, pattern and texture do the heavy lifting A carefully chosen palette layered with tactile materials can instantly suggest a mood without relying on obvious motifs. Mixing eras also prevents a room from feeling flat Pairing contemporary pieces with vintage or handcrafted finds introduces character and depth

Keep One Clear Direction

Both designers warn against mixing too many ideas. Leyla advises choosing one clear movement, calm or dynamic, structured or free, soft or bold, and allowing that to guide decisions When too many themes compete, the space loses cohesion

Tatiana adds that repetition is another common mistake Using the same motif, colour or pattern repeatedly can make a room feel one dimensional Her solution is to strip it back Remove the obvious pieces and reintroduce depth through scale and texture, keeping one or two stronger elements as focal points

wholewheat flour and filtered water, forming the base of a 48 hour wild fermented dough made simply with flour, water, salt and extra virgin olive oil No added yeast The result is a beautifully blistered, thin and crisp 12 inch pizza with real depth of flavour

The children devoured their margheritas

My husband chose the Burrata with house tomato base, Fior di Latte, mozzarella, spicy sausage, creamy burrata and parmesan and declared it one of the best pizzas he has ever eaten I opted for the Carbonara, rich, silky and deeply comforting on a cold February day

We ordered garlic aioli, pesto, spicy mayo and chilli honey dips, the latter sweet, fiery and completely addictive
