PRESENTED BY HSC MIDDLE AND SENIOR SCHOOL

Welcome to another wonderful season of theatre and performing arts at Hillfield Strathallan College. It is always a joy to gather as a community to celebrate creativity, imagination, and the extraordinary talents of our students. At HSC, the arts flourish because they are woven deeply into the cultural fabric of our school—embraced by students, supported wholeheartedly by families, and championed by a dedicated faculty who believe in the transformative power of artistic expression.
This year is a vibrant showcase of that spirit. We opened the season with the Senior School’s high-energy production of High School Musical, a show that allowed our senior students to shine in every sense—vocally, dramatically, choreographically, and as leaders who set the tone for the arts across campus. Their enthusiasm and talent is sure to be matched by our extraordinary Middle School students in their production of Annie Jr. at the end of February.
Looking ahead, we know our Spring Play, the classic comedy Arsenic and Old Lace, will thoroughly entertain audiences thanks to the comedic timing, character work, and delightful eccentricities that make this play such an enduring favourite.
Of course, the Junior and Montessori Holiday and Spring productions are always highlights of the year—events that remind us of the pure delight of storytelling and performance. These shows are filled with magic, curiosity, and the unfiltered joy that only early-years performers can bring.
Our music program continues to thrive as well. Throughout the year, our bands and choirs present an impressive array of concerts and community performances, showcasing not only technical growth but also a sense of collaboration and artistry that reflects countless hours of commitment. Whether it is at a seasonal concert, a festive celebration like HSC Carol Service, or a solemn occasion like Remembrance Day, our musicians demonstrate the depth and diversity of talent that makes HSC such a dynamic artistic community.
None of this would be possible without the support of the entire HSC community. Our arts programs are enriched daily by engaged families, enthusiastic audiences, and a school culture that values creativity as an essential part of a well-rounded education. To our parents, colleagues, and alumni: thank you for your passionate support of the arts. And to our students—whose dedication, talent, and courage continue to inspire us—we are immensely proud of all you do.
Thank you for joining us to celebrate and share in our vibrant and thriving arts community. Enjoy the show. – Nora Hammond ’98

Frosty the Snowman, was a jolly happy soul, With a corn cob pipe and a button nose, and two eyes made of coal.
Frosty the Snowman, is a fairytale, they say. He was made of snow, but the children know how he came to life one day.
There must have been some magic in that old silk hat they found, for when they placed it on his head, he began to dance around!
Oh, Frosty, the Snowman, was alive as he could be; and the children say he could laugh and play, just the same as you and me.
Frosty the Snowman, knew the sun was hot that day, so he said, “Let’s run, and we’ll have some fun now, before I melt away.”
Down through the village, with a broomstick in his hand, Running here and there, all around the square, sayin’, “Catch me if you can.”
He led them down the streets of town, right to a traffic cop; and he only paused a moment, when he heard him holler, “Stop!”
For Frosty, the Snowman, had to hurry on his way, But he waved goodbye, sayin’ “Don’t you cry, I’ll be back again some day.”
Thumpety thump, thump, thumpety thump, thump, look at Frosty go.
Thumpety thump, thump, thumpety thump, thump, over the hills of snow!
Hillfield Strathallan College is situated upon the traditional territories of the Erie, Neutral, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee and Mississaugas. This land is covered by the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, which was an agreement between the Haudenosaunee, Anishinabek and other Indigenous nations to share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes.
As members of the learning community at HSC, we are committed to honouring this covenant by working alongside our Indigenous neighbours and building a sustainable relationship with the land that we all cherish.
