PRINCIPAL’S ADDRESS
Education is the foundation of the modern society. For hundreds of years the process of formal education has remained very similar. Historically the purpose of schooling was for the training of young men and women with the knowledge and skills to gain employment and become contributing members of the broader church and society. While some iterations can be seen in reflection over long periods of time, the basic premise that learning occurs in a classroom of students focused on one teacher who is the font of all knowledge, has remained the key comparative point for generations.
We now are seeing in this new modern world that this historical model of learning no longer meets the needs of the new emerging society. The advent and incredible speed of development of AI has completely changed the educational landscape in respect to learning. We now see that the future of work is completely different to the past and as a society we need to adapt to these significant changes. The digital tools that we now see in use each day allows for incredible learning experiences from around the world and beyond in a second and the ability to engage with people of all nations provides a cultural diversity that has never before been possible.
As a school we know that adapting our learning experiences to embrace these changes are positive for our students. Ensuring that we have access to the latest technology and resources will enhance each child’s learning journey if it is provided in ways that amplify the learning experiences. As a College we are committed to providing each child with an individualised learning experience that allows them to achieve their goals and become successful and adaptable young men and women who will thrive in this next iteration of the world. We will always do this through the lens of a biblical world view to ensure our students know the truth of Bible.
The 2026-2030 Strategic Plan outlines the priorities that the leadership of Hillcrest Christian College will use to guide our development through this next phase of development. Each year we will update our priorities so that you can be assured of our ongoing and never ceasing goal of providing your children with the most modern progressive and effective learning experiences to enable them to achieve all that God has in store for them.

Strategic Planning is a vital and integral part of any organisation. Based on our Vision and Mission we plan for an exciting future for Hillcrest Christian College.
We appreciate the time and effort put in by Jeff Davis, our Executive Head of College and all those involved in this Strategic Plan – there is significant work behind the scenes to think though and develop this plan.
